Azul was caught off guard because Roxanna rarely used that kind of tone when speaking to her husbands or to others.
"I just… wanted to ask Aelin to teach me something," he said carefully. "Did I do something wrong?"
Roxanna bit her lower lip because she really felt like she was starting to become irrational. [I need to calm down. He's not Leon at all! So he won't betray me!]
Azul's eyes widened a little when he caught that thought. Being compared to her ex-husband clearly shocked him.
"No… you didn't do anything wrong!" Roxanna forced a smile. "I just wanted to ask. I'm allowed to do that, right?"
"Of course you are," Azul said gently.
He studied her face for a moment, then glanced at Aelin beside him. After thinking it through, he came to a conclusion; his wife was jealous.
But… rather than jealousy, Azul felt that his wife was afraid of being betrayed again, just like what her ex-husband had done to her.
