Almost as soon as the words left her mouth, deep roars echoed through the water.
ROOOAAARRR!
Roxanna quickly turned around, expecting to see a group of Devourers charging toward them. Instead, she saw Mr. Kraken swimming straight at them as fast as he could.
The Devourers were right behind him, chasing the giant kraken while hurling spears and massive rocks at his enormous body. However, the moment they glanced toward the crater, they immediately realized something far more important was happening.
"They're kidnapping the Queen!" one of them shouted.
Roxanna frowned in disbelief. Kidnapping? How could they accuse them of that? If anything, they were rescuing the Queen from those heartless Devourers!
"Azul, it will be difficult for you to carry this cage," Maristella said worriedly. "My son... you are not meant to die here."
Azul let out a low growl. "No one here plans to die either, Mother." His voice was firm. "I won't let my daughter lose her father so soon."
