Roxanna spent a while reading through the colorful book, carefully studying everything inside. She wanted to understand it properly so that when the time came, she could explain what she had learned to the people of Vixeria in a way that was easy for them to understand.
The moment Cyrus returned to the hut with Calen, however, Roxanna quickly put the book back into her inventory. She didn't want to think about anything else for now and ruin their little cooking time together.
"Oh, Calen, you're back?" Roxanna asked with a smile.
Her gaze dropped, and she noticed that Calen had tied the feet of several chickens together with dry vines, making them much easier to carry.
Calen immediately flashed her a wide smile, showing the sharp fangs at the corners of his mouth. "Yes! I happened to be out hunting too, so I decided to come back and help you cut up the meat!"
Roxanna tilted her head to the side, looking past him. "What about Zeir and Luan?"
