I flew flew and flew to the brilliant blue sky...
Rolling along the edges of a great cloud like a hawk diving with freedom I met the ship again.
I leapt towards it.
The light in the surrounding dimmed once again and thumping sound waves resounded. It became so pitch black I couldn't even see the sphere itself. Somewhere on the ground, far below there was probably seismic waves traveling and rebounding back.
A blinding light engulfed everything. It stung, but more than that. the light came so fast I couldn't react. It was like a judgement light that preachers talk about.
The luminoscous rocks and the grey rocky earth greeted me. I was a spore again.
"Hahaha"
Wasn't it stupid?
Hehe
I totally deserved that. What was I thinking searching for the ship and facing it and doing nothing? I had no plan at all. But that was so funny.
Maybe living fully actually means this. Doing things for the sake of joy.
Anyways, next step? How to defeat the alien ship?
Honestly, I've got no idea for my next step except throwing myself to be incinerated all over again.
I jumped up and conjured a mist to teleport back to the 39th floor.
I could engulf it in mist and check if it's a ship made from metal or something organic since the ability only works on things that are alive. Though I was pretty sure it was a ship. No, wait. I should definitely also try and teleport it outside of this floor. That's something I've never tried before.
The sphere appeared before me again. Judging by the way it finds you so quickly, it could probably locate people.
However, what made it so exciting was its unique ability. It couldn't hurt me directly, but just like earlier, it can cause radiation according to the system.
The destroyed circle without an unknown depth glimpsed from my memory again. It had only been several hours since the attack and dying.
On the ground was a chunk of wood shaped human right next to the ground that gave away. Around the circle the grasses were all destroyed leaving only their charred bodies. It still stung.
Was this an invisible fire? But the effect had decreased a lot.
"System, do you know what this is?"
"It's radiation. The sphere above must've compressed the light in the surrounding area and when the large amount of energy was gathered it became strong enough to break down--"
"It's a unique ability?"
It talks a lot.
"It's actually the result of the column of light. Basically the radiation is the broken down atoms of the ground and air corroding the atoms..."
A power that doesn't require a unique ability to function... and it's just the aftermath of an ability.
I smiled.
"System do you live in the higher dimension?"
Its chattering stopped.
"Do you live in a higher dimension?"
"You could say that."
"Oh okay."
That small voice that had spoken even smaller and timidly stopped running in my head.
Anyways, from what the system had said after that... it can harm me. If I remember right, it's not just the radiation but the light itself. It had to be because the light is gathered and not conjured, I think. Makes sense since the earth dragon I fought in the early days did damage me.
I approached the sphere closer. Mist began to form around me, in a minute they completely covered the sphere.
Lastly, there's a high likelihood that it was the boss. But since the system confirmed it, the boss is probably inside the sphere. The image from the eye showed that it was designed like the classical alien ship you'd see in comics and movies, except it was made from flesh.
I tried to teleport it, but it didn't work. The sphere was a non organic being after all.
The system spoke all of a sudden, "Let me try something."
What was it trying to do?
Easily, the control over a small chunk of my consciousness was cut away like a cut off hand I could see but not feel. The system sent that bit towards the sphere.
If it could take control of a small chunk so easily without me being able to stop him, seriously what was stopping him from toppling me and taking everything away? Maybe me being link to whatever higher dimension my source for consciousness existed was the reason. But if I became a vegetable without a thought, can he still access my higher consciousness? Would a vegetable still have their consciousness?
Or maybe it felt guilty?
"Oh...", the system spoke unconsciously. "I thought it might be another Numen like me. But it wasn't."
"Oh"
I lightly replied a smile bubbling up in my throat.
The light in the surrounding disappeared, I took the clue and promptly created a mist to teleport. Moments before the light beam hit I disappeared and instead emerged from the mist surrounding the ship.
In my hands a sphere of destruction appeared and ate away at the outer coating of the ship and I fell inside the ship.
"Boss room of the 39th floor, Solar."
In the darkness there was only one light source, my hands immediately embraced it. The light disappeared. A coat of destruction powered magic ate away at it and the jelly began to crumble apart.
The jelly swelled in a blink of an eye and I flew away when it popped.
A barrage of consciousness particles laced in complicated pattern immediately touched me, trying to peel off the fabric of my atoms. But the attack disappeared before touching me.
The light returned and the jelly began to glow with a white light again. The grey metal insiding of the ship reflected the light in grey.
"Hello"
The air suddenly began to burn, this time I began to char immediately.
A halo of light appeared around my body as well and a separate full body barrier armor separated the radiation filled air.
I lunged at it. But the floor gave away before I could reach it and it fell through the sky. The metal of the ship wasn't the only thing that had been destroyed, the mist clouds I'd left behind had disappeared as well.
I jumped into the sky.
The sky darkened and the seismic waves could be seen glimpsing between the clouds.
I accelerated. No anti-magic or whatever will save me from something that wasn't magic and that includes attacks that uses magic but doesn't attack with magic. Plus, sometimes anti-magic didn't work on unique abilities.
With a quick acceleration, I appeared right in front of it. Countless vines stretched out from me and wrapped the jelly monster.
A green ball of vines fell through the sky, for a moment nothing happened on the outside. But on the inside, it felt being stretched out. Destruction magic covered it inside me.
We hit the ground.
