Chapter 130 - Chapter 129 : Moments

"Wow, I didn't know you lived in such a huge house," Enid said as she walked through the corridors, her eyes constantly darting around.

There was no pressure anymore, no monsters, no end-of-the-world situation hanging over them, and she immediately slipped back into full social-butterfly mode.

Her phone was already out as she snapped pictures of everything—the long hallways, the paintings, even the ceiling.

"I did say I was rich, didn't I?" Ethan replied, walking beside her.

"I know, but not this rich," Enid said, turning in a slow circle as she walked. "This is like... a whole 'rich-rich' energy."

She moved ahead of him, opening doors without hesitation, curiosity completely taking over.

One door swung open.

Enid stepped inside—and froze.

Her mouth slowly fell open.

The room was enormous.

It wasn't just a bedroom. It was the size of a small house, with high ceilings, wide windows letting in natural light, and a bed that looked like it belonged in some luxury hotel suite.

For a second she just stood there, staring.

Then she turned back toward Ethan.

"…Do you sleep or host events in here?"

"This is my bedroom," Ethan said.

Enid slowly turned, taking the whole space in again like she still didn't believe it.

"Your bedroom is the size of six bedrooms," she said, then immediately walked toward the bed and dropped onto it.

The mattress sank perfectly under her weight.

Her eyes widened as she spread her arms across it.

"Okay—wow," she said, dragging her hands across the sheets. "This is ridiculously soft. I feel like I just landed on a cloud. My bed at home feels like it's actively against me compared to this."

She bounced once more on the bed, then suddenly sat up as curiosity kicked in again.

Enid hopped off and moved straight to the wall rack, pulling it open without hesitation. Inside were rows of neatly arranged suits and a wide range of men's clothing, all of them expensive and perfectly maintained.

"You have a mini shopping mall in here," Enid said, impressed.

Then she slid open the next section—

—and blinked.

Her eyes widened slightly as she took in the contents.

Without a word, she reached in and pulled out a long blue dress, holding it up in front of herself.

"Ethan… why are there women's clothes in your bedroom?" she asked, turning toward him.

"They're not mine," Ethan replied casually. "I bought them for you."

Enid froze mid-turn.

"For me?" she repeated, then looked back at the rack.

There were a lot of them.

Way more than she expected.

"All of this?" she asked, gesturing at the entire section. "There are like… at least twenty outfits here."

Ethan shrugged like it was nothing.

Enid looked down at the dress in her hands again, then back at him, her expression shifting into suspicion.

"But how did you even get my size right?" she asked. The dress already looked like it would fit perfectly, which made it even more confusing.

"Right… it seems you forgot," Ethan said, completely unfazed. "When you wolfed out during the blood moon, you weren't exactly dressed. I saw everything, so of course I know your size. My memory doesn't miss details… not even measurements."

He said it with a straight face, almost proud of it.

Enid froze.

For a full second she just stared at him, her brain clearly buffering.

Then her face turned bright red.

"ETHAN—?!" she yelped, clutching the dress tighter. "You can't just say that like it's a normal thing!"

Ethan raised an eyebrow, still not seeing the issue.

"It is normal," he said. "You're my girlfriend."

"That is NOT how that works!" Enid shot back, half embarrassed and half flustered.

She turned away quickly, trying to recover.

"…Okay but the dresses are still really nice," she muttered, trying to act like that conversation didn't just happen while holding the blue one up again.

"So… should I help you change?" Ethan said, stepping closer behind her.

Enid turned quickly to face him, still holding the dress.

"No, I can perfectly change on my own," she said, trying to sound firm, though there was still a hint of embarrassment in her voice.

Ethan didn't move away.

"Awww," he said lightly, "it's been a while since we had any normal moments. Between Nevermore and… everything else, we've been a little busy."

Before she could step back, his arms slipped around her waist and he pulled her closer.

Enid stiffened for half a second.

Then she relaxed slightly, her grip on the dress loosening just a bit.

"…You have really bad timing," she said, though she didn't actually push him away.

"What can I say," Ethan replied, a faint smile on his face, "we don't exactly get peaceful moments often. Feels like a waste to ignore one when it finally shows up."

Enid rolled her eyes, though her expression had already softened.

"You say that like you didn't just traumatize me five minutes ago with the whole heaven thing," she said.

"Those are memories," Ethan replied. "Later we'll look back and laugh."

"Only you will be laughing," Enid said.

"That's right," Ethan said.

He leaned in and kissed her.

For a brief second Enid froze, still caught off guard, then her hand came up and held his head as she leaned into it, responding instead of pulling away.

The dress slipped slightly from her hand, forgotten for now.
