Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Shadow Monarch Last Stand

Jinwoo broke the silence. "Igris—now!"

Igris exploded forward. The Blood-Red Knight moved faster than before, sword raised high. The crimson blade sang as it slashed downward in a perfect arc that could cleave planets.

Goku waited until the last possible moment. Then he leaned aside with effortless grace. The sword whistled past his cheek, close enough to cut a few strands of glowing blue hair. Before Igris could recover, Goku's hand snapped out and clamped around the knight's face—fingers digging into helmet and shadow alike.

With a casual flick of his wrist, Goku blasted Igris away.

The knight hurtled through space like a comet, trailing red energy and broken armor. He smashed into a distant planet—a lifeless gray rock orbiting far from the sun. The impact lit up the planet's surface in a blinding flash. Craters bloomed. Mountains collapsed. The entire world cracked open like an egg.

Beru struck next—coming up from below like a nightmare given wings. His claws extended into long, purple-glowing scythes aimed straight for Goku's heart.

Goku crossed his forearms. The claws scraped across his skin—drawing thin lines of blood. He barely flinched. With a low growl—"Annoying!"—he drove his knee upward into Beru's gut.

The force was catastrophic.

Beru folded around the blow. His body shot backward like a cannonball, wings shredding from the speed. He crashed straight into Bellion, who had been charging in from the side. The collision sent both shadows tumbling end over end—two unstoppable forces meeting an immovable object.

Goku didn't let them recover.

He thrust one hand forward. A concentrated blue ki blast erupted from his palm—sharp, precise, devastating. The energy beam caught both Beru and Bellion mid-tumble and hurled them after Igris. They slammed into the same distant planet. The impact rang across the solar system—a second sun blooming briefly on the gray world's surface before fading into smoke and ruin.

Jinwoo's eyes narrowed. "That is still not enough."

He lunged.

His fist connected with Goku's face—hard, fast, wrapped in black-purple energy. The punch was so powerful it tore a visible rift in space itself. Reality folded and cracked around the impact point. Goku's head snapped to the side. Blood sprayed in a floating arc.

But Goku didn't stagger.

Instead, he caught Jinwoo's fist in his own hand. Fingers closed like a vice. Bones cracked—Jinwoo's knuckles splintering under the pressure. The Shadow Monarch grunted in pain. Sweat poured down his face in thick streams.

Jinwoo leaped backward instantly, putting distance between them. He shook out his broken hand. Shadows poured over it, healing the damage in seconds.

Then he canceled every summon.

Beru, Igris, Bellion—gone. The faint red glow of their eyes vanished from the void.

Jinwoo stood alone now.

Dark aura exploded outward from his body—mightier than before, thicker, hungrier. Shadows wrapped every inch of him like a living cloak. His eyes turned completely black, only pinpricks of red remaining. His voice came out calm, almost gentle.

"Let's end this."

Goku dashed forward.

A furious storm of punches followed—blue fists blurring faster than light. Jinwoo met every blow with his own. Their fists collided again and again. Each impact ripped fresh tears in space—black voids opening and closing like hungry mouths. The remaining moon fragments finally gave up. They disintegrated into fine dust, scattering across the solar system like glittering ash.

Back on Earth, the consequences arrived.

Continents shook. Oceans rose in walls hundreds of feet high. Tornadoes the size of mountains tore across land and sea. Skies turned black with storm clouds. Lightning that wasn't lightning—blue and black—cracked across every horizon. Cities emptied in panic. People looked up at the sky and saw impossible lights flashing where no stars should be.

Goku spoke mid-clash, voice steady despite the chaos. "This fight has dragged on for too long."

He drove a single, powerful punch into Jinwoo's chest.

The Monarch flew backward—tumbling through space like a broken puppet. Goku raised one hand. Purple energy gathered in his palm—Hakai, the power of destruction itself. The air around it warped and faded.

He fired.

The purple sphere chased Jinwoo like a living thing.

Jinwoo crossed his arms. Shadows surged up to form a massive shield. The Hakai struck—and his shadows began evaporating. Black mist peeled away layer by layer, dissolving into nothing. Jinwoo leaped backward again, but the energy kept coming—relentless, hungry.

He thrust both hands forward. "Dark Void!"

A black-purple sphere of his own erupted—pure nothingness given form. The two attacks collided in the center of the void.

Reality screamed.

A tear opened—wider than planets, deeper than stars. Light bent around it. Time seemed to stutter. The edges of the rift glowed with impossible colors.

Goku's voice cut through the roar. "You defended. That's good. But you're done."

He powered up further.

The blue aura deepened—brighter, denser, overwhelming. His hair glowed vivid blue. Lightning crackled in wild arcs. Full Power Super Saiyan Blue.

He stretched his right arm out.

Multiple spheres of Hakai energy formed around him—five, then ten, then twenty. Each one pulsed with purple death.

They shot forward in a barrage.

Jinwoo summoned everything he had left.

Shadows rose in a final, desperate wall—millions of soldiers reforming in an instant, dragons roaring, giants standing shoulder to shoulder, every shadow he had ever claimed pouring into one unbreakable barrier.

The collision was apocalyptic.

Light brighter than a thousand suns exploded outward. Galaxies trembled. Distant stars winked out—erased in the blast. Entire star systems vanished in silent flashes.

Earth and its sun should have been next.

But Goku acted.

He extended both hands toward the blue planet. A shield of pure blue ki wrapped around Earth and the sun—holding back the wave of destruction. The planet shook violently, oceans boiling, skies burning—but it survived. The sun flared brighter for a moment, then steadied.

When the blinding light finally faded…

Jinwoo floated in the emptiness.

His shadows were gone.

His body was back to normal—no armor, no wings, no throne. Just a man—wounded, bleeding from countless cuts, one arm hanging uselessly. His red eyes dimmed. He struggled to stay upright.

"I've… lost," he whispered.

Goku appeared in front of him instantly—silent, calm.

He raised one leg.

A single kick—controlled, precise—slammed into Jinwoo's chest.

The Monarch hurtled downward—back toward Earth. He crashed through the atmosphere like a falling star. Flames wrapped his body. He struck North Korea with earth-shaking force.

Half the country vanished in the impact.

A crater dozens of miles wide opened. Mountains crumbled. The ground split for hundreds of miles. Shockwaves rolled outward—tsunamis, earthquakes, firestorms. But somehow, no cities burned. Goku's ki had cushioned the worst of it.

Jinwoo lay in the center of the crater—broken, breathing shallowly, alive.

Goku floated high above, looking down.

"Goku… we have gathered enough energy. We can leave now if you want."

Zeno.

Goku nodded once.

"Let us go."

A dark portal tore open behind him—swirling black and purple, edged with faint silver light.

Goku stepped through without looking back.

The portal snapped shut.

Silence fell over the broken battlefield.

On Earth, survivors emerged from shelters—staring at the sky where two impossible forces had clashed. The moon was gone—only dust and faint rings remained. Stars looked dimmer. The world had changed forever.

Jinwoo pushed himself up on shaking arms.

Blood dripped from his lips.

He looked up at the empty space where Goku had been.

A small, tired smile crossed his face.

"Next time… I'll be ready."

Far away—beyond galaxies, beyond time—Goku stepped out of the portal into the void.

Zeno floated beside him in his small ball form.

"That was fun!

" Zeno giggled. "He was strong. Very strong."

Goku rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah… he really was."

"Our next universe is the world of the Avengers."
