Chapter 83 - chapter 39

T

LONDON'S POINT OF VIEW

Crewe was naturally like that.

I swallowed hard as I realized my mouth was dry. I was the captive of a royal-blooded criminal, and I shouldn't have felt anything other than fear and disgust, yet instead, I was experiencing a maelstrom of conflicting emotions that made no sense whatsoever.

He then removed his trousers and shoes, leaving him in nothing but black boxers.

I finally looked away, not wanting him to catch me checking him out.

– I know you like what you see.

He slowly walked toward the sofa where I was sitting. A prominent V-line hovered above his hips, carved out by his defined abs, and there was a massive bulge at the front of his boxers; I could guess the size of his long dick through the fabric.

– You shouldn't make assumptions.

He knelt in front of me, giving me a perfect view of the mass of muscle he was. He leaned forward, one arm resting on the armrest and the other on my thigh. He observed me with his brown eyes, commanding me with a single look.

Now, I couldn't look away anymore.

He moved closer, until his lips were only a few centimeters from mine.

– Short breathing. Dry mouth.

His hand pressed the area right above my knee.

– Trembling thighs.

He took my wrist and checked my pulse.

– Rapid heart rate.

I swallowed my shame as best as I could.

He placed my hand on his chest, right over his beating heart.

– Rapid heart rate.

He brought his lips to my ear, his breath tickling my lobe.

– Short breathing.

His lips found mine and he kissed me slowly.

– Dry mouth.

He grabbed my hand and guided it between his legs, over his boxers.

– Fiery dick.

My hand automatically squeezed his member, my arousal taking full control. He had the biggest dick I had ever received, but the painful stretch was absolutely divine. I had never slept with a man like him.

He positioned his face right in front of mine.

– Let's be honest with each other. Tell me you want me.

I looked him in the eyes and didn't hesitate.

– I want you.

His eyelids grew heavy, clearly pleased with the response.

– I want you too.

He kissed me and sucked my lower lip into his mouth.

– I don't want another man fucking you, because I want you all to myself.

I ran my hand into his hair and kissed him more passionately, the wetness between my legs intoxicating me. He had implanted a transmitter in my brother's skull, but that didn't stop me from wanting him. I was his prisoner, yet I still wanted him between my legs. I hated this man, I wished for his death, but I wanted to feel him come deep inside me.

It was insane.

Crewe lifted me up and laid me on the bed. He had removed his boxers, and the tip of his erect dick was already leaking.

I took off my jeans and tossed them on the floor, eager to be penetrated.

He flashed his signature arrogant smirk before helping me slip off my panties. He didn't even bother removing my t-shirt before climbing over me and burying his dick deep into my pussy. He was never gentle with me, fucking me as if I was worthless to him.

But I liked it.

I dreamed I was strolling down the street when a car sped past me and crashed violently into a tree.

I rushed over to the window to see if I could help the driver, only to come face-to-face with my father. His eyes were wide open, blood spurting from his wounds—he was already dead. My mother was in the passenger seat, her stomach impaled by a branch. I could smell blood and burning engine smoke. In the backseat was Joey, but as an adult, just like the last time I saw him. He had died on impact.

– Ahhh!

– London.

Crewe's deep voice echoed in my ear, pulling me back to reality.

– It's just a dream. Wake up.

I kicked at the sheet, as if it were a net dragging me underwater. Sweat dripped down my arms and legs. I was fighting an invisible enemy, fleeing the car from my nightmare.

He grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me.

– London, wake up.

I finally opened my eyes and saw the room around me, enveloped in darkness. I knew I was with Crewe, but I couldn't remember where we were. It was just a bad dream, a horrific nightmare that wasn't real. I leapt out of bed and felt a cool breeze against my bare skin. I rushed toward the fireplace, then darted toward the armchair—anything to keep from standing still.

– Where am I?

This wasn't Scotland. This wasn't the island. I couldn't remember where we were. I was sleepwalking.

– In Italy.

Crewe got out of bed and calmly approached me, towering at his full six-foot-two height.

– We came here to do business with Crow and Cane. You met them earlier.

He spoke in a low voice, as if trying to help me calm down.

I wrapped my arms around myself to cover up, even though he had already seen me naked. I sank into the armchair and breathed deeply, trying to catch my breath and slow my racing pulse. No matter what I did, I couldn't calm down. The dead faces of my family kept haunting me.

– I can't lose him… I can't.

I burst into tears, violent sobs shaking my entire body.

– Who, Sweetheart? Who can't you lose?

He stepped closer, and his hand rested on my shoulder.

– Joey… he's the only person I have left in this world.

I buried my head in my hands and cried, my body still racked with sobs. I didn't cry in front of people. In fact, I never cried. It didn't fix anything. It didn't make problems disappear. But I had lost my mind and was still half-asleep.

Crewe wrapped his arms around me and pulled me against his chest, his powerful arms acting as a protective barrier. His hand found my hair and stroked it gently.

– Shh… it was just a bad dream. Everything is fine.

I forced myself to hold back my tears, trying to dam the wave of intense emotions raging in my chest. As I kept breathing, I gradually calmed down until I returned to my normal state. My skin absorbed my tears while I listened to Crewe's heart beating in his chest, like a comforting lullaby.

It was just a nightmare.

A bad dream.

Everything was going to be fine.

I had always had to comfort myself throughout this ordeal, but my brother had always been the one to console me. Even when I had a bad day at college, I would call him to tell him everything. Joey wasn't just my brother; he was my whole family wrapped into one person. Without him, I was completely alone.

– I'm sorry…

I pulled back, knowing I was irritating Crewe. I had woken him up in the middle of the night with my breakdown, which he didn't give a damn about.

– Sometimes I have vivid dreams when I drink too much…

I didn't want to see anger in his eyes, so I avoided his gaze.

He took me by the elbow and pulled me back against his chest.

– It's okay, Sweetheart. I have nightmares too.

– Really?

With my cheek pressed back against his chest, I felt better. The rhythm of his heartbeat comforted me in an inexplicable way.

– Very often.

He guided me back to the bed and helped me slip under the covers.

– You're not alone.

When my head hit the pillow, he pulled up the blanket and tucked me in as if I were a child. He lay down beside me, but instead of staying on his side, he wrapped his arm around me and spooned me.

– Do you want to talk about it?

I placed my arm over his and squeezed it like a lifeline. I felt his pulse through his skin, his blood pumping through his veins, keeping him alive. Crewe was my captor, yet I had never felt safer than in his presence. It made no sense.

– No…

He pressed a kiss to the nape of my neck before resting his head there.

– I'm here if you change your mind.

– I know.

I closed my eyes and let sleep sweep me away.

I overslept because of my restless night.

Crewe was gone, likely already showered and ready to start his day. He usually woke up at sunrise and probably hit his gym before getting dressed. I knew he worked out because nobody got a physique like that without effort.

I was relieved to see he was gone, not feeling ready to face the humiliation. I had nightmares from time to time, but nothing this intense. It had felt so real—the blood dripping down their faces and soaking their clothes.

It was a dream I wanted to forget.

But the more terrifying the dreams were, the harder they were to shake off.

I wished I could call Joseph, the only person in the world I could talk to about these things.

I had just showered and dressed when Crewe walked in. He was already wearing his suit and tie, starting his workday on the right foot. Instead of feigning indifference like usual, he stared at me as if I were damaged goods.

Which I hated.

– What are you doing today?

I didn't give him time to ask how I was doing. I didn't want him worrying about me, especially after humiliating myself in front of him last night. When he held me, I should have pushed him away.

But I needed him too much.

– I'm going to the base to meet Crow and Cane. I just forgot my watch.

He picked it up from the dresser and strapped it around his wrist.

I was disappointed that he was leaving. I would be stuck in this mansion with his men. As long as I stayed in the room, they wouldn't bother me. I could wait for his return to eat.

– See you later.

I didn't beg him to take me along like I did yesterday. After the pathetic way I sobbed in his arms last night, I wasn't going to show another ounce of weakness. It didn't suit me.

It didn't suit anyone.

He adjusted his cufflinks while looking at me. Brown eyes had never done much for me, but I liked his. They were warm like coffee, yet dark like tree bark. They could shift from intense to playful in a split second.
