The eastern office of House Silver had become the busiest room in the entire manor.
From the moment dawn broke, servants carrying ledgers and sealed scrolls continuously entered and exited without pause.
Some brought reports from the Ministry of Public Works, while others delivered lists of officials assigned to accompany House Silver to Western Phoenix. The relocation was only a few weeks away, yet the amount of unfinished work only seemed to grow with every passing hour.
Arceus sat behind an enormous oak desk almost completely buried beneath documents. Maps of Western Phoenix occupied one side of the table, architectural drawings covered another, and several merchant proposals lay stacked in neat piles. Three elders of House Silver stood nearby, discussing the proposals among themselves.
"The Redstone Merchant Guild has the lowest quotation," one elder said.
"No," another replied. "They have the lowest quotation because they intend to use ordinary granite."
