King Balon was a man whose actions were extraordinarily reckless, obsessed with the Old Way to the point of madness, and not very intelligent. His first rebellion led to the death of his own father, and his second rebellion led to the death of his two sons, after which his wife went mad.
"Hmph." Catelyn sighed inwardly. She would never agree to that suggestion. Theon should stay with everyone, and anyone could be sent to Pyke. That madman Balon was absolutely not to be trusted. Although he was king for a short time, he quickly failed. But such a person, given the chance, would cause trouble again. As long as her own family was not involved, Catelyn was still relatively sensible.
"Since you already have a plan, then so be it," Robb replied. According to his own thoughts, if someone were to go to the Iron Islands, sending Theon would be the easiest way to deal with Balon. This was also because Theon and Robb had lived together for so long, their friendship was deep, and Theon had even saved Bran from the wildlings.
Gendry saw Robb's reluctance, and saw the light in Theon's eyes slowly dim, but he should still be happy that Theon was called Robb's brother. Theon and the bastard didn't get along, but his relationship with Robb was undeniably good. But I'm sorry, to avoid the chameleon's appearance, this is for everyone's good.
"I'd rather stay by the Direwolf's side too," Theon said, forcing a casual smile, as if he could accept all of this. Theon understood in his heart that although Lord Eddard had allowed him to grow up with the Stark children, he was not a true Stark. Everyone in the castle, from Lady Catelyn to the kitchen boy, knew he was a hostage meant to ensure his father's good behavior, and treated him as such. Even the gloomy bastard Jon received better treatment than him.
Theon looked at Gendry, pondering the grievances between the Ironborn and the Stormlanders. Years ago, House Durrendon had expanded its kingdom into the Riverlands until it was later overthrown by House Hoare; this was an old enmity.
The Riverlands had belonged to Storms End for over three centuries, despite at least one major rebellion erupting in every generation. More than a dozen rebels from different Houses had proclaimed themselves River Kings or Kings of the Trident River, vowing to break the shackles of the Stormlands, and some had even succeeded... for half a month, a month, or even a year. But their rule was precarious, ultimately always crushed by the punitive armies of Storms End, and the occupants of the throne were all hanged. It wasn't until later that Harwyn 'Hardhand' led the Ironborn, seizing the opportunity, landing forty leagues south of Seaguard, carrying their longships overland to the Blue Fork River, and then sailing to begin raiding along the river.
"Prince Gendry, Lord Robb, Lords. I... I have an immodest request," Lady Maege Mormont stood up and said awkwardly. The Lady of Bear Island was a grey-haired, short, but strong woman. She always wore armor, and her weapon of choice was a spiked mace.
"Please speak, Lady."
Maege continued, "I consider the battle with Tywin to be the last battle of my life. My brother became a member of the Nights Watch for his son Jorah and cannot return home, and he once told me his wish was for Jorah to also join the Nights Watch. As his aunt, I actually really want to see Jorah one last time, but I'm afraid it's impossible. Because of this, I want my daughter Daisy to follow Prince Gendry for a while. If she can see Jorah and convey my brother's wish, my heart's desire will be fulfilled. As for whether Jorah is willing, I no longer care."
"I regard Gendry as my brother and King, and Lady Maege's wish is only natural. From now on, Daisy shall guard the King's side," Robb said with magnanimity. Jorah's story was known to all; he couldn't sacrifice the dignity of a group of people for one person, so it was better to be generous.
