Chapter 184 - Chapter 184 The Gentlest Person

Snow Pillar?!

As Yoizumi agreed, all the squad members present looked at him in surprise.

No way?

This is the Snow Pillar... Didn't they say he looked terrifying?

If this counts as terrifying, then what are they?

Is it really okay for a demon to look like this?

"Ah! Snow Pillar!" Murata, who had returned from the restroom, came in and greeted Yoizumi enthusiastically.

"Mm." Yoizumi still had some impression of Murata.

"I'll be troubling you for guidance these next few days, please take care of me!" Murata bowed, finally making everyone else present react. They all bowed in unison and respectfully said,

"Please take care of us, Snow Pillar!"

Murata smiled easily, thinking how lucky he was to have the Snow Pillar for training right from the start.

When he was on a mission before, he happened to be with Tanjirou, and Tanjirou had said it.

(Yoizumi-nii is the gentlest person in this world!)

The tone, the expression—Tanjirou looked like someone who couldn't lie.

So it must be true!

Murata looked at Yoizumi. Beneath that indifferent face, there was actually a soft person. He really couldn't tell.

Soon, Murata realized... he was wrong.

"Bang!"

"Eh?" Stiffly turning his head, Murata swallowed with difficulty. The wooden sword in his hand trembled violently as he watched his companion, who had been knocked flying and fell to the ground unconscious, from a single blow.

Brother! You fell asleep so fast!

But sleeping is not allowed here!

It must be a lie... Is this the gentlest person Tanjirou spoke of?

In the center of the room, Yoizumi stood with a sword in one hand. The wooden sword was too light for him; hitting with such a light weapon didn't give him any feel.

"Again."

Komi Kata charged forward, swinging his wooden sword with force, but its speed was incredibly slow in Yoizumi's eyes. Without moving his feet, he slightly sidestepped, easily dodging it.

"Ah!" The wooden sword fell to the ground. Yoizumi retracted his hand. Komi Kata clutched his right hand in pain, gasping for breath. He hadn't even seen the attack and his weapon was knocked away... Is this a Pillar?

"Your sword-swinging motion is too wide; you need to contain it." Yoizumi thought for a moment and gave a decent suggestion. He wasn't good at teaching people... "Yes."

"Murata, come over." Yoizumi looked at the stunned Murata nearby and called out.

"Ah... Yes!" Murata nervously stepped forward. How long had it been since they started, and half of them were already unconscious on the ground? He guessed the Snow Pillar had realized this problem and was starting to hold back his strength.

Gripping his wooden sword with both hands, Murata charged towards Yoizumi. The wooden swords clashed with a crisp sound. Yoizumi looked listless; all of this was too slow for him.

But knocking them all down with one blow wasn't ideal either.

"Whoosh!" The wooden sword cut through the air, its tip stopping precisely at his brow. Murata's dark eyes stared at the sword before him, watching as a strand of black hair fell from his center-parted hairstyle.

"Clatter." The wooden sword, knocked away, finally fell to the ground.

"Your sword swings are a bit haphazard; please find the correct attack angles."

"Yes." Murata said, cradling his hair with a pained heart, on the verge of tears.

Where is the gentleness in this, Tanjirou!

"Achoo!"

"Mmm..."

Far away, Tanjirou, who was training with Uzui Tengen, inexplicably sneezed, rubbing his nose.

Bare-chested, he rubbed his arms. Although it was already spring, the temperature was still a bit low... Could he have caught a cold?

Or was someone thinking of him?

"What's wrong, Tanjirou!"

"Your movements have stopped!"

Uzui Tengen, half-crouching on a tree, shouted.

"Yes! Sorry!"

Uzui Tengen smiled confidently, his lips curved, and adjusted the forehead protector on his head.

As the God of Flashiness, he would make these squad members even more flashy!

"Tanjirou hasn't caught a cold, has he?" Hinatsuru heard the commotion and asked with some concern.

"Then let's make warm miso soup for everyone!" Suma suggested, holding up a giant rice ball she had just made.

Makio raised her hand and hit Suma's head hard.

"You idiot, don't play with food!"

"Wuwuwu... Makio is so mean..."

Hinatsuru smiled gently, watching them, then turned her gaze to Uzui Tengen.

She continued to make rice balls, head down.

Tengen must be hungry... I should make a few more... "Kanzaki, please give me some more rice!"

"Here too!"

Kanzaki Aoi bustled through the dining hall, with the three young girls also helping.

So many cute girls... But Murata chewed his food, on the verge of tears. After a morning of training, he couldn't remember how many times he had been beaten.

Once the Snow Pillar controlled his strength, it was just enough to make them dazed but not cause brain injury.

They would pass out for a while, wake up, and then be met with that incredibly fast wooden sword again.

He couldn't react at all... To pass the Snow Pillar's test, he had to last one round against him.

Murata sighed, the delicious food now tasteless.

Would he be stuck here forever?

...Yoizumi held a branch and carved it with a small knife.

He was preparing a birthday present for Shinobu.

Last time, he forgot to say the necklace was for Shinobu's birthday.

Later, Yoizumi thought about it and realized he might have given it too early.

So.

Yoizumi decided to give Shinobu another wooden hairpin.

He was currently in the practice stage.

Nezuko lay at her brother's feet, idly watching his movements.

"Mmm... mm."

"You want to come with me to train...? Okay." His sister was alone in the room, and Kanzaki and the others were busy preparing food, so they had no time to accompany Nezuko. She was indeed bored.

"Then Nezuko will come with me this afternoon."

"Mmm~"

"Here you go." Nezuko reached out and took the bamboo dragonfly her brother had made for her. Happily, she rubbed her palms together lightly, and the bamboo dragonfly flew up.

Her eyes sparkled as she watched the high-flying bamboo dragonfly. Her short legs chased after its movement, but then the bamboo dragonfly flew out the window. Nezuko, caught off guard, was injured by the sunlight shining through the window.

"Mmm!" Nezuko painfully recoiled and fell to the ground. Yoizumi heard the commotion and immediately got up to pick up his sister.

"Nezuko! Are you alright?" He hurriedly checked his sister's burned hand. Fortunately, the area was small, and he breathed a slight sigh of relief. He got up, closed the window, and drew the curtains, plunging the room into darkness.

"Sorry, big brother didn't pay attention."

"Mmm..." Nezuko was still concerned about the bamboo dragonfly outside. Yoizumi stroked his sister's head, comforting her.

"I'll go get it."

After Yoizumi left the room, Nezuko stared at the tightly drawn curtains, her pink eyes somewhat dim.
