Chapter 118 - Chapter 118: The Giants' Gamble! The Terrifying Combat Power of a Giant Village! A 100 Billion Bet!

The Navy's military power far exceeded what was shown in the original history. But today, Marine Headquarters received some uninvited guests.

Inside the Fleet Admiral's office, Sengoku sat behind his desk, working as usual. The desk was piled with reports from the four seas and the Grand Line. A village attacked in the West Blue, a rebellion in a non-affiliated nation in the North Blue... to him, these were just tedious chores. The seas had been relatively calm; Whitebeard and Shanks were remarkably restrained, and Renault had been silent for years. Since taking office, Sengoku's life had been relatively easy.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Come in!" Sengoku said without looking up.

A marine entered, saluted, and reported, "Fleet Admiral, a pirate named Teach has arrived at headquarters. He says he has urgent business with you."

"Hmm?" Sengoku paused, surprised. The world was truly full of strange things. A pirate showing up at the front door of the Navy asking for the Fleet Admiral? That was a first.

Sengoku picked up his pen again. "Did he say what it's about?"

"Reporting sir, he brought a man named Ace. He said once you hear that name, you'll definitely see him."

"Fire Fist Ace?" Sengoku's brow furrowed. He'd heard of the boy. Ace had caused some trouble in the New World before joining Whitebeard and becoming the Second Division Commander.

"Interesting. Let's see what Teach is up to." Since it involved the Whitebeard Pirates, Sengoku was intrigued and stepped out of his office.

Back in Elbaf.

Knowing Renault was coming, the Giants had prepared a feast. They were well aware of Renault's exploits, but even at his current heights, Renault still addressed Jorul and Jarul as "Chieftains" and treated every giant warrior with respect and no arrogance. This gave them a deep appreciation for his character.

When Renault arrived with Shakky and Hancock, the two elders were already waiting. Normally, a giant's lifespan is three times that of a human, with 300 being the limit. But these two seemed to be exceptions. Compared to decades ago, Jorul and Jarul—now over 300 years old—hadn't changed a bit and still moved with vigor.

Renault led the women into a spacious hall. The two chieftains, Hairedin, Brogy, Dorry, Kashii, Oimo, and other warriors Renault knew were all present. After some pleasantries, the feast began.

Once everyone was full, Jorul got down to business. "Renault, Kashii and the others said you have something to discuss. Go ahead."

As the oldest warriors on the sea, they had seen and experienced everything. They had walked more miles than Hairedin had eaten grains of salt. In the past, the others had returned to visit individually, but never all at once. This coincidence meant the matter was serious.

Renault finished his mug of rum, met the elders' gazes, and spoke calmly. "Chieftains, I've come because I need the help of the Giants to defeat the Celestial Dragons and overthrow the World Government. You both understand what kind of world this is under their rule. Constant war, countless displaced civilians, and those inhuman 'hunting games.' Even the 'just' Marines are merely tools to maintain their reign. After decades of preparation, I am ready. Soon, I will lead an assault on Marine Headquarters and push through to Mary Geoise. I will drag those so-called 'Gods' off their thrones!"

The room exploded into an uproar.

"Renault, you can't be serious!" "Do you know what you're saying?!" "Taking on the World Government? It isn't April Fool's Day!"

Hank, who had once taught Linlin the "Ikoku Sovereignty," spoke in disbelief, his words stumbling. As the world's strongest race, they knew more secrets than most, and they feared the World Government's hidden power deeply. Why did most giants stay in Elbaf? Why did only a handful become pirates? Because of fear.

Even a normal adult giant had the strength of a Marine Rear Admiral or Vice Admiral. If even 30% of Elbaf's warriors took to the seas as pirates, the world would change overnight. And the World Government would target them first. By staying home, they lived peaceful lives, and the government left them alone.

Now Renault wanted the Giants to help him overthrow the government? The younger warriors had only one thought: Absurd. Completely insane. To them, this request was asking the Giants to jump into an abyss.

"Enough!" Jorul waved his hand, signaling for silence. The warriors quieted down, but the looks they gave Renault were hostile.

Compared to the youths, Jorul and Jarul were far steadier, but they were still visibly shaken. At their age, they had accepted death, but this involved the entire race.

Jorul spoke first. "Renault, I know you are powerful. Perhaps no one on the sea can match you. I know you have powerful partners like Linlin, Hairedin, and the others. But this is a matter of gravest importance. The World Government has stood for 800 years. Do you know how much hidden power they possess? Setting that aside, the Navy alone has six peak-level powerhouses. Taking them down is easier said than done."

Jarul sighed heavily. "Renault, we've seen all the help you've given the Giants over the years, and we appreciate it. But we truly cannot help with this. We know what the World Government does, but attacking them head-on is like hitting a rock with an egg. If Jorul and I die, so be it. But these young ones are the hope of the Giants. We cannot gamble with their lives. If you fail, it's not just you who dies—it's the entire Giant race. We cannot let a thousand-year legacy end in our hands."

Jarul's voice trembled slightly. His devotion to his people was moving. The two chieftains had made their stance—and the stance of Elbaf—clear.

Renault wasn't surprised. As long as the Giants didn't cause trouble, they could survive for another thousand, or even ten thousand years. But if the rebellion failed, it would bring instant annihilation to the entire Giant race. They would become nothing more than a few tragic lines in the records of history.

However, Renault now possessed the capital to face Imu. Failure was an impossibility. Before the atmosphere could become truly awkward, Renault continued.

"Chieftain Jorul, Chieftain Jarul, I perfectly understand your concerns. Allow me to address them one by one.

"First, I am very well aware of the World Government's hidden trump cards and secret methods. I cannot explain how I know, but I am also aware that the true ruler of the World Government is not the Five Elders, but a person named Imu."

Hearing this, the two chieftains exchanged a look of shock. They had only heard that name by chance a hundred years ago. They hadn't even been certain such a person truly existed, yet here was the name again, coming from Renault's lips. Seeing his conviction, they realized it had to be true.

"Secondly, as for those powerhouses in the Navy, there are already people prepared to handle them."

Renault then informed the two chieftains about the status of Shiki the Golden Lion, Douglas Barrett, and his other hidden assets. Although the Giants were friends rather than foes, his plan was of such gravity that he had strictly forbidden Hairedin, Brogy, and the others from leaking any information to the rest of the Giant warriors. Until now, the tribe had no idea what Renault had been doing in the shadows all these years.

But the time was right. There was no harm in revealing some of it now. Hearing about the decades of preparation and the sheer military might Renault currently commanded, even the two steady chieftains were stunned.

"So, you've been plotting this since decades ago..." Jorul murmured. At this point, the two elders were already halfway convinced. Such foresight suggested a deep understanding of the World Government's strength.

Seeing their expressions soften, Renault pressed his advantage. "Exactly. I have planned for decades for this single day. For me, there is only one true enemy: Imu. As of now, I am confident I can defeat her. But for the rest of their forces, I need the Giants to lend their strength. Moreover, the Giants have an impeccable reputation across the seas. If you stand with me, it will help the common people see the truth. They have been deceived by the World Government for too long; it is time for a change."

Renault's voice was resonant and full of power.

"This..." The two chieftains fell into deep thought. Their faces were clouded with hesitation as they spoke again. "Renault, even if you can defeat the Celestial Dragons and overthrow the World Government, what comes next? Under their rule, the sea is chaotic, but without their restraint, do you know what the consequences will be? It would be true darkness."

They could imagine a future where every corner of the six seas was engulfed in the smoke of war—pillaging, slaughter, and chaos everywhere. Countless innocent civilians would be caught in the crossfire. A dark order was terrifying, but no order at all would be ten thousand times worse.

Renault nodded slightly. As expected of men who had lived for over 400 years; their vision was long. But having planned for so long, how could he have missed such a detail?

"Chieftains, rest assured. My influence already firmly controls the lifelines of the West, South, North, and East Blues, as well as the Grand Line. I have secretly recruited several powerful non-affiliated nations, and many member nations of the World Government have reached secret cooperation agreements with me.

"The moment I give the order, the Marine branches stationed in those five seas will vanish instantly. As for the member nations fiercely loyal to the World Government, they will have new masters immediately. Once they are taken, my troops and the national forces of those countries will stabilize the order in those regions, keeping turmoil to an absolute minimum. The situation you fear will not happen. Furthermore, I have firmly seized control of the underworld across the four seas and the Grand Line, establishing a massive intelligence network. If any pirates try to take advantage of the chaos to raid civilians, my Assassins' Guild will strike immediately to eliminate them.

"Do you still have concerns? If you don't believe me, I can make a Den Den Mushi visual call right now to let you confirm the truth of my words."

The two elders were speechless. Renault's ironclad arguments hit home. It seemed this man was determined to become the master of the world.

"Sigh... if you can truly achieve that, it would be for the best." Jorul seemed to make a final decision. He stared at Renault with burning intensity. "Renault, tell me the truth. What are your actual odds of defeating that person?"

"One hundred percent."

"Good!! I'll take that bet!!"

The moment the words left Renault's mouth, Jorul shouted his agreement. If Renault had said ninety-nine percent, Jorul would never have risked the entire race. But if it was a certainty, it was worth the gamble!

Overjoyed, Renault looked toward Jarul. "And you, Chieftain Jarul?"

Jarul stroked his beard and boomed, "Jorul's decision is my decision!"

It was done! The will of the two venerable chieftains was the will of the Giant race. Renault felt his dry throat relax as he exhaled a quiet sigh of relief.

"Renault, you should know that our race is divided into towns and villages," Jorul explained. "The warriors most skilled in battle come from the villages. I will assign one entire village of warriors to you. Two hundred and twenty men. How does that sound?"

Two hundred and twenty?!

Renault was ecstatic, his grin nearly reaching his ears. Small number? These were 220 brutal Giant warriors, not 220 human foot soldiers. A single adult Giant could easily face hundreds of ordinary humans without issue. These 220 warriors, if dropped into Marineford, could likely take on half of the Navy's rank-and-file soldiers by themselves.

"It is more than enough! Chieftains, please rest assured, I will not let you down. This gold is a token of gratitude for the Giant race. Please, do not refuse!"

"Hahaha... Renault, since we chose to believe in you, we don't need—"

"No..."

"Wait, is that... that much?!"

Before Jorul could finish his sentence, his eyes nearly popped out of his head. Every giant in the room was paralyzed with shock. Renault, knowing the massive risk the Giants were taking, waved his hand and presented gold worth 100 billion Berries.
