Xing Luoye finally gathered the last bit of strength left in his broken body.
With great difficulty, he pushed himself up from the ground. His movements were slow and shaky, like a man who could collapse at any moment.
Yue Yue quickly held his arm to support him.
"Don't move too much," she said softly, her voice full of worry. "You're badly injured."
Xing Luoye looked down at her small hands holding him.
For a moment, his eyes softened. Then he slowly lifted his own hand. It was covered in blood... his blood.
Before Yue Yue could react, he raised his trembling fingers and gently brushed them across her pale cheek. The bright red blood smeared across her soft skin.
Yue Yue froze in shock. Xing Luoye looked at the mark on her face with a strange, bitter smile.
"Yue Yue..." he said quietly.
"I still don't know what to do." His voice sounded tired... almost lost.
"It seems... just like everyone else..." He paused, taking a slow, painful breath.
