Cang Yuze stood at the edge of the dark cave. He held a glowing lure in his hand. The light glowed slowly. It was designed to mimic the heartbeat of a weak prey.
His men stood behind him in a circle. They held high-power pulse rifles. Their faces were pale under their glass helmets. They knew the danger of this trench was very high.
"Steady," Cang Yuze whispered into his transmitter. "Wait for the vibrations. Do not fire until I give the command." He watched the dark hole carefully. He did not move.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake.
A deep, grinding sound came from the cave. It sounded like heavy stones rubbing together. The water around them became very murky and cold.
A massive shadow slowly emerged from the cave. It was the King Scorpion. Cang Yuze narrowed his eyes. It was much larger than the records had ever described before.
