Her office was nice, spacious and well-lit, with a wide mahogany desk, a comfortable leather office chair, a sleek PC setup, and floor-to-ceiling windows on one wall. Being on a higher floor, the view was good: city skyline stretching out below, sunlight glinting off glass buildings, distant traffic moving like slow rivers far beneath us.
The room smelled faintly of her perfume, something floral and warm, mixed with the clean scent of printer paper and coffee.
"Nice office, Judy," I said as I looked around, taking it all in.
"Thanks, Alex. Please take a seat," she replied, gesturing toward the wide sofa against the opposite wall. It was plush, dark gray, big enough for two people to sit comfortably.
I walked over and sat down, leaning back against the cushions with my arms spread wide along the backrest and my legs parted.
