As soon as the ranking footage appeared, everyone was jolted. This entity didn't even look like a Pokémon; it radiated an aura of pure, unadulterated evil.
In the Footage—
"Hoopa is the strongest!" "Hoopa can do anything!"
Following the roar of the monster named Hoopa, two golden rings flew from the wrists of its six arms. The rings ascended to the sky and expanded violently.
Within one ring, molten lava began to overflow! As the scorching magma poured out, a colossal red behemoth slowly emerged.
In the other ring, a surging torrent of water appeared, and from within the waves came a "fat-headed fish" with a massive head and a smaller body.
The Pokémon emerging from the lava was covered in red, plated skin with strange black patterns etched across its body and white spikes lining its edges. The "fat fish" was deep blue, adorned with red patterns similar to the other's black ones.
[Steven Stone: That's... the Continent Pokémon, Groudon? And the Sea Basin Pokémon, Kyogre?]
[Wallace: What the—!! Who exactly is this Hoopa? It can actually summon these two Super-Ancient Pokémon?]
[Professor Oak: I've heard legends of these two. One is the avatar of the earth, the other of the sea. They are said to be eternal rivals.]
[Professor Kukui: Precisely! Even in Alola, we have legends of them. When Groudon appears, the land expands; when Kyogre appears, the sea rises. They are literal arch-nemeses!]
[Diantha: This Hoopa... who is it? I saw its name once in a brief flash in Kalosian historical ruins, but... what kind of monster is this!]
[Professor Birch: To summon the supreme deities of the Hoenn region so casually... it's terrifying!]
In a hidden corner of Hoenn, Maxie, leader of Team Magma, stared at the screen in disbelief. Groudon was Team Magma's lifelong pursuit—their dream was to find it and use it to turn the world into land.
Yet, their ultimate goal, which they had barely found clues for, was summoned so effortlessly by another?
Similarly, Archie, leader of Team Aqua, felt his life's philosophy crumbling. They had spent their lives chasing Kyogre, and here it was, summoned like a common pet.
Both leaders simultaneously felt a new, dark ambition: If we capture this Hoopa, wouldn't we gain control over Groudon and Kyogre instantly?
In the Footage—
Once the Unbound Hoopa summoned Kyogre and Groudon, the two legends appeared furious, as if their slumber had been rudely interrupted.
Groudon's Drought ability activated immediately, sunlight intensifying to a blistering degree. Using solar energy, Groudon charged a brilliant golden light in its mouth—the Grass-type move, Solar Beam!
For a deity, there was no need to charge. The move fired instantly as a massive pillar of golden energy!
Hoopa remained calm, positioning a golden ring in front of the incoming blast. The Solar Beam hit the center of the ring and vanished without a ripple.
On the other side, Kyogre attempted to counter with a Hydro Pump, but Hoopa aimed another ring at Kyogre.
The Solar Beam that had entered the left ring erupted from the right ring! The speed was so great that Kyogre couldn't react and was blasted directly into the ocean depths.
Hoopa laughed maniacally. "Hoopa—can do anything!"
The camera panned out, revealing a crowd of humans watching the battle from afar, cheering and applauding as if it were a spectacular circus act.
[Lance: What is this thing?!]
[Steven Stone: The Hoopa Rings... Kyogre and Groudon seem completely helpless in Hoopa's hands.]
[Lucian: This Pokémon is utterly off the charts!]
[Professor Kukui: Those golden rings... they must connect to another space. Not only can they transport Pokémon, but they can also redirect attacks. This ability is far too powerful!]
[Wallace: Do our Hoenn deities have no dignity left?]
Hoopa's power shocked the world. Kyogre and Groudon weren't weak—they were top-tier "Primary" Legendaries. To see them treated like toys was mind-boggling.
In the Footage—
The scene shifted. The sunny sky turned dark and gloomy. The giant Hoopa flew like a demon god, and three golden rings flew from its hands, summoning three new Pokémon!
A black dragon and a white dragon appeared—Reshiram and Zekrom, the legends of Unova! And finally, a white and yellow titan emerged.
It had a massive white torso, no distinct head, and seven circular holes arranged like the Big Dipper on its face. Moss covered its shoulders and feet.
It was the Legendary Titan—Regigigas!!
[Cynthia: ...It can even summon Regigigas?]
[Brandon: Does this Hoopa have no limit? Regigigas created the three Regi-titans! Legend says it once towed the continental plates with ropes! Hoopa can summon even him?]
[Cynthia: If the Unova dragons are on the same level as the Hoenn duo, Regigigas is arguably a step higher. Without its 'Slow Start' ability, it would be among the absolute top-tier deities in existence!]
In the Footage—
Thunder roared, and lightning crackled as the battle between the summoned trio and Hoopa began. None of these legends were happy about being teleported against their will.
Zekrom's tail engine glowed blue as it entered Overdrive Mode, firing its signature Bolt Strike! Reshiram's tail erupted in flames as it fired Blue Flare! Regigigas, though slightly slower, condensed a dazzling golden sphere—the ultimate Normal-type move, Hyper Beam!
Three world-destroying powers converged on Hoopa!
BOOM!!!
A massive explosion engulfed Hoopa. Everyone expected it to use its rings to redirect the attacks, but it didn't move an inch. It took the combined might of two box-art legends and a continental titan head-on!
Smoke and dust filled the air for nearly a minute. When it finally cleared, the Unbound Hoopa stood there, arms crossed, completely unscathed! Not only was it not dead, but it didn't have a single scratch on its massive body!
[Lance: ...Is this even still a Pokémon?]
[Alder: Terrifying... absolutely terrifying. Three legends combined couldn't leave a mark. This is beyond words!]
[Catlin: It seems Unova's dragons are useless here. Perhaps we need the strongest dragon, Kyurem, to stand a chance!]
In the Footage—
Hoopa counterattacked! A spiraling ring of dark energy—Dark Pulse—erupted from its hand and slammed into Reshiram, sending the white dragon flying into a golden ring that sent it back to wherever it came from.
Next, it fired another blast at Zekrom, tossing it into another ring. Finally, it turned to the King of Titans, Regigigas.
The Dark Pulse hit the titan, but Regigigas's immense weight made it hard to push! Hoopa grunted, increasing the power until Regigigas was finally lifted off the ground for a split second—long enough for a golden ring to appear under its feet, swallowing it whole.
Professor Oak's Backyard:
Professor Oak received a phone call. After nodding solemnly, he typed into the barrage:
[Professor Oak: Regarding Hoopa: It is a Mythical Pokémon from the Kalos region. Legends say it has an insatiable desire for treasure and once uprooted an entire castle to steal the riches within. About a hundred years ago, the Unbound Hoopa fought several Legendary Pokémon and defeated them all before going on a rampage. It was eventually sealed away by a human with mysterious power. Its current location is unknown!]
Oak didn't mention one thing: his sources pointed to a place called Arche Valley. He didn't want the world to disturb the secluded people living there.
