In the footage—
Clair looked at Dragonite with a complicated expression; she knew that Dragonite could no longer listen to what she said.
Outrage—this is an exclusive enhancement skill belonging to the Dragon attribute. After using Outrage, the user's power increases significantly for a short time.
Still, the mind becomes consumed by pure anger, leading them to attack indiscriminately, friend and foe alike, before falling into complete confusion.
Now, if they wanted to stop Dragonite, they could only defeat him or wait until the chaotic duration of the Outrage ran its course.
"Roar!!"
Dragonite quickly recovered from its momentary stiffness, its small wings flapping furiously as it went on a renewed rampage! The fire-breathing dragon on the side also charged out without saying a word, colliding heavily with Dragonite to knock it off course!
"There is no way, now we can only block the actions of Dragonite first… Pikachu, Thunder!"
Dragonair had already called forth a rainy day, so using Thunder now would not only increase its destructive power but would also guarantee a hit!
"Pika!"
Pikachu jumped from Ash's shoulder, accumulating crackling electricity in midair.
However, before the lightning could be unleashed, Dragonite rocketed upward from below and knocked Pikachu away! Pikachu's reflexes were fast, but it was impossible to cleanly execute the move when facing an exceptionally swift Pokémon like Dragonite at close range.
"Pikachu!"
Ash lunged forward, catching Pikachu safely in his arms as he slid several meters across the dirt.
Dragonite flapped its wings and descended directly in front of Ash, the core of a Hyper Beam already glowing inside its maw. Instantly, an orange-red figure intercepted the beast, knocking it back once more.
Charizard stood firmly in front of Ash, glaring fiercely at the opposing Dragonite. For whatever reason, if an opponent dared to harm his trainer… this fight was absolutely non-negotiable!
"Thanks, Charizard." Ash stood up, his face serious. "Dragonite, look around! Can't you hear your favorite Pokémon?!"
Responding to Ash was only the furious, unseeing glare of the raging Dragonite. In a state of Outrage, no outside voice could penetrate its mind.
Unless a Pokémon shared a deep, long-term bond with a trainer as Ash did with his partners, reaching them in this state was virtually impossible.
Clair, standing nearby, finally learned the exact reason for Dragonite's explosive anger. Team Rocket had tried to steal the sacred prayer flame, causing it to fall to the ground and ignite the surrounding foliage! It was no wonder Dragonite had completely lost its temper.
The butler successfully snatched the Dragon's Fang back from Team Rocket's grasp, glaring at them with absolute fury. If it weren't for these blundering fools, none of this disaster would be happening!
"Charizard, please, let Dragonite calm down first… Use Flamethrower!"
"Roar!"
The blazing stream of fire shot outward. Dragonite flapped its wings hard, attempting to dodge the intense heat, but Charizard's flames suddenly turned a corner! The heat-seeking switchback directly struck Dragonite mid-flight, engulfing its body in Red fire! The Pokémon let out a loud wail of pain.
Even with its natural resistance to Fire-type moves, the sheer potency of Charizard's attack caused significant damage, putting Charizard's current growth on full display.
Overcome by the flames, Dragonite tumbled from the sky and crashed into the pool below. By the time it emerged from the water, the fire on its body had been extinguished.
Immediately following its recovery, Dragonite flapped its wings with tremendous force, kicking up a violent Twister! The fierce winds roared, forcing the opposing airborne combatants back.
With the shifting winds, Dragonair could no longer maintain its control over the weather, and the remaining raindrops slowly ceased to fall.
"So strong… It truly is a Pokémon worthy of the former Gym Leader… Dragonair, help Charizard pin Dragonite down!"
"Woooooooooo~"
Since the wild Pokémon of the den had already gathered to handle the evacuation and rescue efforts, Dragonair no longer needed to focus on keeping the Rain Dance active.
Clair shifted her strategy, ordering Dragonair to assist Charizard in restricting Dragonite's movements.
Clair possessed a fair understanding of Ash's Charizard by now, recognizing that its sheer power was easily on par with this ancient guardian. With Dragonair providing backup, they stood a real chance!
[Drake: That Dragonite… It should definitely be at the Elite Four level!]
[Diantha: Without a doubt. The most formidable trait of a Dragon-type Pseudo-Legendary is its sheer vitality. Even though it belonged to the previous Gym Leader, it is currently in the absolute prime of its life, and its raw power is still peaking.]
[Lance: Exactly. This is precisely why so many trainers actively pursue Dragon-type Pseudo-Legendaries. They are not only naturally gifted but possess incredible physical vigor, allowing them to grow exponentially stronger as the years stack up!]
[Erika: Now is hardly the time to celebrate its strength… The stronger this Dragonite is, the harder it will be for Charizard to handle. Can the current Charizard actually defeat an Elite Four-level opponent?]
[Flannery: Charizard has clearly become much stronger than he was during the Crystal Tower crisis! The fact that he can briefly suppress an irrational, Outrage-boosted Dragonite says everything! Right now… it is highly likely that Charizard has also reached the threshold of the Elite Four!]
[Leon: I agree. Even if he hasn't fully solidified an Elite Four ranking, he is right on the edge. Although Dragonite's Outrage robbed it of its sanity, the move also provided a massive boost to its attack power, making the two combatants incredibly well-matched.]
[Blaine: In other words, Team Rocket really crossed the line with their troublemaking this time!]
[Morty: Although destroying the sanctuary wasn't their explicit goal, the damage is done. This incident serves as a reminder… at the end of the day, those three are still villains!]
[Caitlin: While their actions can't be sugarcoated, is there a possibility that their unique passive trait kicked in? That is to say, their innate talent for completely screwing up their own bad deeds?]
[Caitlin: Whenever Team Rocket tried to do something bad in the past, it inexplicably inverted into a good outcome. This time, however, they went from committing a minor crime to causing an absolute catastrophe.]
[Caitlin: Their original intention was just to steal the holy fire, but they fumbled it and triggered a massive forest fire instead! Of course… I am not trying to absolve them of blame. A crime is a crime!]
[Steven: Caitlin makes a valid point… and the incident with Hoopa in the previous inventory followed a similar pattern! But since these events haven't actually occurred in our current timeline, the Team Rocket trio needs to look closely at this and understand what lines absolutely cannot be crossed!]
The Team Rocket trio, currently keeping a low profile at the Indigo Plateau Conference venue, fell completely silent. They prided themselves on being notorious villains! To them, committing crimes was just a regular day at the office!
However, whether it was the chaotic incident with Hoopa shown previously or this utter destruction of a sacred sanctuary, this scale of devastation wasn't what they aimed for.
They wanted to steal valuable Pokémon and treasures, not permanently ruin local ecosystems or wipe out entire cities.
Now that the future was being laid bare in advance, they internally resolved to avoid these paths entirely. After all, they considered themselves to be a cute, charming class of villainy!
In the Footage —
Ash's Charizard and Clair's Dragonair officially joined forces to wage war against the rampaging Dragonite! Dragonair executed auxiliary moves to restrict Dragonite's flight paths, while Charizard continuously unleashed calculated bursts of flame, attempting to wear down its stamina and break the rage. However, the initial impact was minimal.
This Dragonite might have been slightly less explosive in raw offensive power compared to Charizard, but its defensive capabilities and physical endurance were monstrous.
Before Charizard even entered the fray, Dragonite had withstood its own redirected Hyper Beam, followed by a direct hit from a powered-up Flamethrower and multiple Twisters from Dragonair.
Despite that accumulation of damage, its physical reserves remained incredibly deep—it was as if every single one of its training points had been poured directly into defense!
The fierce aerial battle raged on for several minutes. Charizard maintained the offensive pressure the entire time, but Dragonite showed no signs of regaining its senses.
"Ash! I'll have Dragonair create a definitive opening for you!" Clair shouted over the roaring wind. "When the moment comes, have Pikachu strike with Thunder! Let's see if a massive jolt of electricity can shock Dragonite out of its confusion!"
"Right!" Ash agreed, his eyes locked onto the battlefield.
