Chapter 268 - Issho Makes His Move

A large man with a terrifying scar across his face came down the stairs.

"My friends, apologies. Our casino has some private business to handle today. Please give me some face. We'll reopen as usual tomorrow."

The gamblers who had been watching the show immediately stopped watching and hurried outside.

The casino boss himself had come out.

Those four people were definitely finished.

No one dared stay behind to enjoy the excitement.

The scar-faced boss walked to the gambling table, and the thug immediately stepped aside.

Scarface looked at the chips on the table and smiled.

"Dear guests, there was a mistake with the dice just now, so that round doesn't count. I'll personally play with you two next."

White Ghost and Issho took back their chips without even looking at him and continued chatting.

Issho smiled.

"You said you're good at judging people. Then in your eyes, what kind of person am I?"

White Ghost toyed with a chip in his hand.

"You? You're someone running away from responsibility."

Issho tightened his grip on the cane sword in his hand and raised his head toward White Ghost.

"Running away from responsibility?"

The scar-faced man's expression darkened when the two ignored him completely.

"I said, are you two betting or not?"

White Ghost glanced at him.

"You haven't even shaken the dice. How are we supposed to bet?"

Then he continued speaking to Issho.

"That's right. I think you're running away. Because you've seen too much darkness in this world, you shut your eyes.

"In my view, that's running away. This world has both black and white. There will always be places the sun can't reach."

With a dark face, the scar-faced man shook the dice cup.

"Place your bets, dear guests."

Issho placed his chips on large.

"This one understands that as well. However, one man alone cannot do so much.

"As you said, after darkness comes dawn. But once the sun sets, darkness returns again."

White Ghost followed without hesitation.

"Everyone has their own way of doing things.

"On Big Mom's territory, those people have to pay with their lifespan every so often.

"But compared to people who get attacked by pirates every few days, they're much happier."

Issho turned his head toward White Ghost.

"What do you mean by that?"

Although he was blind, White Ghost could still feel Issho's gaze fixed on him.

"What I mean is that in this world, there is no absolute good or evil. There is only the human heart."

"This one would like to hear more."

White Ghost chuckled.

"Everyone does things differently. A black heart has black-hearted methods. A white heart has white-hearted methods.

"But no matter how it's done, isn't it all driven by ambition?"

The scar-faced man opened the dice cup and looked expressionlessly at the two of them before waving his hand.

The casino thugs immediately surrounded them, their faces hostile.

The scar-faced man crossed his arms, his expression turning vicious.

"I suspect you two guests are cheating, so we'll need to inspect you."

Enel tossed the apple core in his hand into his mouth and chewed.

"You handled everything from beginning to end. If you can't afford to pay, don't open a casino. Now you're accusing others?"

White Ghost stood up.

"Looks like we'll have to continue this discussion somewhere else, Mr. Issho."

Issho also rose.

"This one would very much like to hear more of your thoughts. Those words just now were quite enlightening."

Seeing that he had been ignored again, the scar-faced man's expression grew even more ferocious.

"Take them down. Teach these people that not every place can be treated however they please."

The thugs around them grinned cruelly and drew their weapons.

Click.

The cane sword in Issho's hand slowly left its sheath.

Gambler's Fire Line.

A blade among the Twelve Supreme Grade Swords.

As Issho slowly drew his sword, an invisible force spread outward, skillfully avoiding White Ghost and the others.

Enel and Akin both turned serious.

They had felt that power.

"Ugh!"

The scar-faced man and his men suddenly felt gravity pressing down on their bodies.

Gradually, the weight grew heavier.

Thud, thud, thud.

One after another, the people around them collapsed to the floor, staring at the blind man in terror.

The scar-faced man's face turned ashen.

He knew he had kicked an iron plate this time and hurriedly begged for mercy.

"My lord, I was wrong! I was wrong! Spare me this once!

"I'll pay your winnings. Double! No, ten times!"

As the gravity increased, blood vessels filled the scar-faced man's eyes.

He felt as if his body was about to be crushed flat, and he could no longer speak.

Click.

Issho sheathed his sword.

Boom!

The floor cracked open.

Those people lost their lives completely, crushed to death by gravity, blood flowing from all seven orifices.

White Ghost smiled at the scene.

"Your Devil Fruit development is impressive."

"Not at all. It can't compare to the famous Dragon Emperor. This one merely developed it casually."

Was this what people called a humble brag?

White Ghost's mouth curled.

"I have noodles on my ship that you've never eaten before. Want to try them?"

Issho nodded.

"A flavor this one has never tasted? Then this one must try it."

Creak.

The casino doors opened.

The people waiting outside stretched their necks to look in, eager to see how miserable those men's endings were.

After all, people dying in a casino was far too normal.

Then they saw two men nearly three meters tall walk out side by side, with two others following behind them.

The four of them walked away while chatting and laughing.

Some bold people edged toward the casino.

A moment later, they ran back out with terrified faces and vomited at the roadside.

Dead bodies.

Bodies everywhere.

All of them were bleeding from all seven orifices. The floor had cracked apart.

From beginning to end, the people outside had heard no screams—only a single boom.

When the security officers arrived to investigate, every witness gave the same answer.

After learning the whole story, the security captain kicked the scar-faced man's corpse.

"Idiot. Couldn't even keep your eyes open.

"Now you've provoked someone you shouldn't have. What a pain. I'll have to find someone else to take over."

Still angry, the security captain kicked the body several more times.

Part of his income had just vanished.

Anyone would be furious.

One of his men suggested, "Sir, should we send people to arrest them?"

The captain's face darkened. He crooked a finger at him.

The subordinate's face lit up, and he hurried over, thinking the captain had accepted his suggestion and was about to praise him.

Slap!

A crisp slap rang out.

The captain knocked the man to the ground with one slap, then kicked him again and again.

"Idiot! Do you think I'm not dying fast enough? Look at what happened to these people. You think I dare go after them?"

"Ah!"

The subordinate hugged his head and begged.

"Sir, I was wrong! I was wrong! Please spare me!"

After venting his anger, the security captain looked at the men around him.

"Clean this place up. Then send someone to find out who did this.

"If they're someone we can't afford to offend, come back and tell me immediately."

"Yes!"

His subordinates quickly got to work.

Their boss's anger clearly hadn't faded yet. None of them wanted to become the next punching bag.
