White Ghost and the others were on their way to Mock Town.
Along the way, some pirates who did not know whether they wanted to live or die came looking for trouble. In the end, all of them were fed to the fish.
White Ghost sat at the bow, sighing again and again.
Robin, who was writing something nearby, turned to look at him.
"What's wrong, Captain? You look completely listless."
White Ghost turned his head and watched Bepo beat up a group of pirates.
"Back when I hadn't fallen out with the Navy, these pirates might not have been worth much, but they still brought in a little income.
"What a pity. Now I'm basically working for the Navy for free. There's no benefit at all."
Robin put down her pen and looked at him strangely.
So that was it.
He was unhappy because his income had dropped.
White Ghost met her gaze.
"Am I wrong? Even one berry of income is still money. It's not like I'd complain about having too much."
Robin's cheeks turned faintly red, and she quickly lowered her head.
"You're right, Captain. You're the head of this big family, so of course you have to think about everyone on the ship."
White Ghost withdrew his gaze and lazily lay back in his chair.
"Exactly. There are so many big eaters on this ship. If I don't think carefully, what if they eat me poor?"
Robin rolled her eyes in her heart.
With a nouveau riche like you, who could possibly eat you poor?
Elena walked up carrying a plate of fruit. She had heard what he said just now and placed the fruit on the table.
"Why are you being so frugal? Are we already that poor?"
White Ghost took her smooth hand.
"What else can I do? I still need to build a huge house in the future. There are a lot of us."
Elena gave this bad man a charming glare.
Did she not know what kind of idea he was playing at?
Robin picked up her pen again and continued writing. On the surface, she ignored the two flirting across from her, but the way she secretly glanced over betrayed her.
Elena stayed close to him for a while. Before leaving, she gave him a meaningful look.
White Ghost smiled awkwardly and pointed at Robin, who was writing and drawing, as proof that the two of them really were discussing business and had no other intentions.
Elena lightly snorted and left.
White Ghost watched her back and felt that everything was worth it.
The things he had not even dared to imagine in his previous life—he had achieved them in this one.
Knock, knock.
Robin tapped the table.
"Captain, your drool is about to fall on the floor."
White Ghost came back to his senses and immediately reached up to wipe his mouth.
The moment he lifted his hand, he stopped.
Robin covered her mouth and chuckled, finding it very amusing.
So this great figure could act like this too.
White Ghost's face darkened, and he reached out, pulling her over.
"Ah!"
Robin had no time to dodge. Her whole body was pulled into his arms.
White Ghost held Robin and glared at her fiercely.
"Girl, don't play with fire, or your big brother will show you what real danger is."
Robin's cheeks turned red.
During this time, she had been using the skin-care products on White Ghost's ship, and her skin was no longer as dark.
Robin wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Then, Captain, what sort of danger do you want me to learn?
"Besides, the captain's wives have already warned you many times."
White Ghost had to admire this woman.
She had grown up struggling in the dirt and had experienced all kinds of things. If she had not been bold and careful, she would probably have been eaten to the bone long ago.
Just as their faces were about to touch, White Ghost's ears twitched, and he immediately let her go.
Robin was smart enough to understand instantly. She rose from his arms and calmly returned to the side, pretending as if nothing had happened while writing again.
Tap, tap, tap.
The sound of Reiju's high heels striking the floor rang out.
She walked over in a white short dress, holding a report in her hand.
Reiju first glanced at Robin, who was holding her book upside down while still pretending to read. Then she handed the report to White Ghost.
White Ghost accepted the report and opened it. After reading for a while, the corner of his mouth began to rise.
"So the giants' lineage factor can be combined with the lineage factors you had before?"
Reiju picked up a grape from the table and began peeling it.
"Yes, but we can't make them as powerful as actual giants.
"We've done many experiments, and this is the best result. On average, each clone will be around three to five meters tall.
"As for physique, they'll be much stronger than before. They should be able to become even stronger later, but we'll only know after the first batch is created and tested."
After saying that, Reiju sat cross-legged beside him, her long pale legs dazzling to the eye.
Robin very consciously gathered her things and left.
She had only just joined, so it was better to slowly get in touch with many things. That man was not some harmless person.
Only when she left did Robin's face turn red.
While packing up, she had realized that her book had been upside down.
No wonder Reiju had glanced at her.
White Ghost placed the report on the table.
"What are the flaws? It can't be that smooth."
Reiju licked the grape juice from her lips.
"Mm, there are flaws. The main issue is output. Production won't be as high as ordinary clone soldiers."
White Ghost rubbed his chin.
"That isn't unacceptable. I can accept a one-to-five ratio. Besides, clone soldiers like that are much better than ordinary ones."
Reiju continued eating grapes as she replied,
"That's what we think too. With Chubby around, we can shorten the time significantly.
"But you're the captain. We can't make this decision on our own, so I came to ask your opinion."
White Ghost looked at Bepo leading his three pets in slaughtering the enemy and nodded with satisfaction.
"That works. Take it slowly. We still have a few years.
"During this time, I'll think of a way to get something good from Vegapunk. When the time comes, you can work with it."
"Mm."
Reiju nodded.
White Ghost was not a harsh man. As long as they properly finished what he ordered, he was very easy to talk to the rest of the time.
Reiju had been here for a while now.
This place was far better than that cold home of hers.
Reiju picked up the report and left.
White Ghost silently withdrew his gaze.
As expected of legs second only to that person in the world of pirates. Those long legs really were no joke.
"Hi-hi-hi-yo!"
Bepo's feet kicked out rapidly.
His opponent, a pirate captain with a bounty of twenty million berries, was knocked unconscious after a few kicks.
After taking that man down, Bepo looked at the panicked small fries around him and spread his arms horizontally.
"Behold! White Bear Spreads Wings!"
The remaining small fries panicked.
Their captain had told them he was bringing them to get rich.
And the result?
The other side had not even moved. They had only sent some pets out, and already these pirates were starting to doubt whether they were even human.
Who could tell them why that talking polar bear could fight so well?
And those three things that were not quite turtles and not quite seals—why were they so strong too?
The most ridiculous one was that muscular rabbit.
That thing was absurdly powerful. With one punch, it knocked down a whole group.
Clatter.
The pirates threw down their weapons, held their heads with both hands, and knelt very consciously on the deck.
"We surrender!"
Pedro folded his arms nearby and looked at the trash with disdain.
What kind of level did they think they had, daring to come looking for trouble with them?
Pedro waved his hand.
"Take them all away. The factory on Dragon Island just happens to be short on labor."
