Chapter 281 - The Omnipotent Wish Machine

"Zod..."

Wanda, now grown and matured, froze the moment she pushed the door open. The scene inside the office left her stunned.

The company's No. 1 special operative, Dinah, was sitting on Zod's lap, arms draped around his neck, her long, straight legs wrapped in white stockings.

The outfit she wore had a slit skirt, and the slit went high—so high it nearly reached her armpits.

The situation was, to put it mildly, awkward. Zod cleared his throat, pushed Dinah off him, and grabbed a tissue to wipe the large red lipstick mark off his face.

"What is it, Wanda?"

Zod asked with an air of righteous solemnity.

Dinah flashed a radiant smile and, clicking along in slender high heels, sauntered out of the office with an elegant catwalk stride.

Her impossibly narrow waist swayed and twisted as she moved. The white stockings, chopstick legs, and high heels were an absolute feast for the eyes—enough to unlock the "would stare for a year" achievement.

As Wanda watched the 1.8-meter-tall, scorchingly hot Dinah pass by, she felt like a little hen face-to-face with a Tyrannosaurus rex. She didn't dare move a muscle.

The gap between them was simply too vast!

What's more, most of Dinah's 1.8-meter height was in her legs. She was the ultimate fantasy woman, the kind men could only dream of.

"...I, I..."

Wanda covered her face and wept, then turned and bolted away.

Zod shook his head. He knew exactly why Wanda had come. The little girl thought that now that she'd grown up, she could be with him.

How naive. Right now, Zod's entire focus was on his figurine girls. He had no interest in the original plot's characters. After all, many of the female heroes in the Marvel world were notorious for their promiscuity.

Zod had no intention of cuckolding himself. Figurine girls were so much better—beautiful, capable in a fight, and able to fulfill the fantasies he'd once only been able to admire from afar, never touch.

Then the office door opened again, and Ada Wong walked in, locking the door behind her.

"Ada, what are you trying to do?"

Zod wondered—since when had his office become a sieve?

"Trying."

"?"

...

We'll skip this scene, because, dear readers, you've surely watched far more office-themed educational films than this humble author has!

...

Zod set down the utterly limp, boneless Ada Wong.

Pathetic tricks. She dared show off before a master, not taking him seriously at all!

Not a speck of filth clung to Zod. Just as he stepped out of the office, Urd came right toward him.

After Zod had finally resigned from his position as director of the Divine Sword Bureau and returned to Umbrella Corporation, Urd, the White Queen Emma, Wanda, Ada Wong, and the others were overjoyed. They wanted to fill the void left by his absence.

Dealing with Urd didn't even take Zod a full hour. And he figured it was about time to awaken Wanda's abilities.

Anyway, he could always say it was Compound No. 1 that gave her powers—though he wasn't sure whether she'd be influenced by Cyttorak.

Of course, there were those who didn't understand Zod's resignation. Tony Stark, for one, called directly to ask about it. Zod didn't bother responding.

Thor, after the incident was over, had no desire to return to Asgard. Conveniently, the Bifrost wasn't repaired yet, so he had an excuse to stay.

Odin was stomping mad, but there was nothing he could do to come down and drag him back.

First, because Earth was too special—the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme, hadn't died yet.

Second, because the Kryptonian Emperor was currently on Earth. If the emperor had any ill intentions toward him, Odin doubted he'd make it off the planet alive.

Had Zod known Odin thought this way, he'd have cursed him for measuring a gentleman's heart with a petty man's measure.

This time, by intercepting the Aether, he'd redirected the Dark Elves' attention to Earth, thereby preventing Queen Frigga's death and ensuring Loki never escaped his cage. Whether viewed publicly or privately, he was practically a savior to Asgard.

After all, when the Dark Elves invaded Asgard, the Asgardians who died were hardly few in number.

Now, although Thor had beaten the rebels of the Nine Realms into submission, without the Bifrost, this stability wouldn't last long.

And Odin had already been forced into the Odinsleep, with no telling how long it would take for him to wake.

On Zod's side, he first answered everyone who asked why he'd resigned, then dove straight into the laboratory.

The Reality Stone truly was an incredible artifact. Using it, Zod had created the Dragon God, the Lightbringer, Super Sentai, the Ultra Star Gods, the Lantern Corps, and more—all with effects identical to the ones he knew.

The only cost was his life force. But now, with the Power Stone supplying energy, he didn't even need to pay that price.

"This is basically an omnipotent wish machine."

Zod looked at the Sparklence in his hand.

As for the Kryptonian Empire's new troop type, he already had an idea.

Think about it—weren't Ultramen the perfect troops for cosmic warfare?

Their enormous size and planet-busting destructive power made them essentially humanoid super-battleships. Paired with Kryptonians, they'd be flawless.

Anyway, the technology to turn people into giants of light wasn't difficult. The Reality Stone had made it all possible for Zod.

He didn't even need stone statues of giants like Tiga's—he could transform directly.

"But... wouldn't the tyrant route be better?"

Zod mused. The Alien Empera seemed pretty good too, actually.

But he quickly dismissed the idea. Darkness and the like couldn't compare to the grandeur of light.

And so, the citizens of the Kryptonian Empire's subject worlds discovered that the imperial troops stationed on their planets had withdrawn, replaced by a batch of imperial soldiers numbering only two or three.

This made the resistance forces dissatisfied with Kryptonian rule grow restless.

Though they knew the Kryptonian Empire was famous throughout the universe for its biochemical augmentation technology—take the recently infamous Grand General Darius, for example, whose Black Cleaver axe cut down gods and demons alike, reaping countless experts and striking terror across the cosmos—

But no matter how formidable, they were only two or three people.

The three Kryptonian imperial soldiers stared blankly at the resistance forces launching their assault.

"I never expected His Supreme Majesty's prediction to be spot-on. Those rebels really did surface."

One of the aliens, who was not human in appearance, sneered coldly. He wasn't a non-Kryptonian Empire citizen, though.

To demonstrate his inclusiveness, Zod had crafted many figurines of strange appearances—all of them "native-born" Kryptonians of the Empire.

It was just that the Kryptonian race came in a wide variety.

The resistance had planned to win through sheer numbers, but the moment they launched their attack, the three Kryptonian imperial soldiers, accompanied by a burst of intense light, transformed into hundred-meter-tall giants!

Three giants—silver, blue, and red—loomed over them, a sight that nearly made the resistance forces piss themselves.

"Begin. Annihilate all resistance forces."
