Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Livestream

"Brother... lets check on... her... she... she doesn't look... good." Gwen's eyes welled up with tears. She resembled a fragile doll that would break at the slightest touch.

Warren pursed his lips, concern and panic flashing in his eyes, but eventually it was won over by coldness. "No need! Let's leave before she decides to settle the score with us."

"But... brother... she looked unwell..."

Before Gwen could finish her words, Warren gritted his teeth, "She is no one to us!"

His voice was particularly loud, as if he was conveying a message to Mu Ning but at the same time... convincing himself too.

'Yes... this is temporary. Just like her previous tricks. She will change when Mr. Wang won't look in her direction! Don't get your hopes high!'

With that, he dragged Gwen away, even though he repeatedly turned and looked at the bathroom door.

Mu Ning puked until her stomach was empty; her eyes were flashing with coldness and deep sorrow. After washing her mouth, she stepped out and sat on the sofa.

From her appearance, one could hardly discern her inner storm.

"System, is the investigation completed? The soul occupying my body... is it found?"

[Hm... Unfortunately, host... we... we haven't located it yet... but if there is any...]

"Save it." Mu Ning wasn't in the mood to deal with the system or the admin. Though they appear to be the ones at fault, the primary perpetrator was the evil forces.

"If I don't torture the soul who had occupied my body to death and let her never reincarnate, then my name won't be Mu Ning." Her vow echoed calmly in the room, like it was a nonchalant commitment, but only the system and admin knew... Mu Ning never says what she can't do.

It took an entire morning for Mu Ning to calm down completely.

In front of her babies, she never planned to show any killing intent.

As for Warren's blunt words... Mu Ning smiled.

When met with sudden kindness, the initial reaction is doubt, followed by rejection and withdrawal.

Only by persisting could she slowly break the wall of rejection.

That afternoon, Mu Ning first registered an account named Wargwen, prepared the material for lunch, and clicked on the livestreaming button.

She didn't even own an ID bracelet and had to look around the room before finding the original one.

With a tripod stand bought from the system's shop and other necessary utensils, Mu Ning started her first livestream.

"Hello everyone, welcome to Wargwen! Today, I will make a simple lunch," she said calmly. "Two dishes and one dessert. Easy to follow."

She turned the camera toward the table.

"First, for Garlic Spinach."

On the table, there was a bunch of fresh spinach, still a little wet from washing. Next to it were a few cloves of garlic, pale and smooth.

"You need spinach, garlic, oil, and a little salt," she said. "Very simple."

Her fingers moved quickly. She peeled the garlic, then chopped it into small pieces. The soft tap-tap-tap sound of the knife hitting the board echoed in the quiet kitchen.

"Cut the garlic like this," she added, lifting the knife slightly so the viewers could see.

Then she placed a pan on the stove and turned on the fire. The flame flickered blue and orange under the pan. She poured a little oil in. After a few seconds, she dropped in the garlic.

Shhhhhh... The moment the garlic touched the hot oil, a strong fragrance rose up.

By now, a few people had already joined the live stream.

MylifeMyIdea: "Another food blogger? Hey, nowadays, the threshold to become a chef has truly lowered."

CutieLin: "It had lowered long ago. But this one seems different, even though she is another poser; her voice is particularly nice to hear."

PotatoMan: "Hey Wargwen, if you truly are a food blogger, turn on the smell function!"

OldHarold: "Another food blogger who will be exposed."

The reason why so many people were doubting Mu Ning was that many people claim to be food bloggers.

They would perform random steps and even present a delicious-looking food. Only... that food is inedible.

The audience thought Mu Ning was like that too and started to taunt her.

Mu Ning was surprised to see 7 viewers and their comments. She quickly turned on the smell function, and the comment section was silent.

MylifeMyIdea: "Am I dreaming? What is... this... fragrance? It's too real!"

CutieLin: "I am speechless!"

PotatoMan: "Don't be excited too soon! What if she is just randomly adding items, and her main product is just so-so?"

Mu Ning ignored the comment and added the spinach to the pan. The green leaves touched the heat and instantly shrank. She stirred them quickly.

The fresh green smell mixed with the garlic, turning into something light but very comforting. Steam rose up, carrying that soft, clean fragrance.

"Do not cook too long," she said. "Or it will become too soft."

After adding a pinch of salt, she turned off the fire and placed the dish aside. The spinach looked glossy and bright.

Everyone: "..."
