For a moment, she simply stared at them. Then, unexpectedly, a faint smile appeared on her face.
"You two little brats," she said. "This way of comforting people is so stupid."
She paused before adding seriously, "If you really want to comfort me, you can just give me money."
The moment those words were spoken, Warren and Gwen stiffened.
Slowly, they loosened their grip and backed away. Both of them wore awkward smiles.
"Mother," Gwen said weakly, "you can ask for anything else. Just not money."
Mu Ning immediately clicked her tongue.

Despite her complaints, she was secretly amused by their expressions. The two children looked like wilted flowers that had just been abandoned by the world.
