Mu Ning smiled. "It's called hot pot. You'll know once you try it."
Following her instructions, they placed vegetables and meat into the boiling soup. After waiting for a few minutes, they took their first bites.
Immediately, their eyes widened, the rich broth, the tender meat, the crisp vegetables.
Every bite was bursting with flavor. Gwen's cheeks puffed up as she happily continued eating.
"Mommy, you're the best cook ever! I never realized that everything I ate before was basically grass. This is amazing!"
Mu Ning burst into laughter. "You certainly know how to flatter me."
The three children continued eating happily until every last ingredient had disappeared from the table.
After cleaning everything up, Mu Ning looked at them with a smile.
"All right. Now no one is allowed to lie down immediately. Go for a walk first. You need to digest your food before doing anything else."
