Pei Ke stopped for a moment. Mu Jin continued seriously,
"If I still can't have you after three years, I'll give up. Is that all right?"
She smiled. "I'll take your silence as permission."
Pei Ke considered it a momentary infatuation and didn't bother responding.
He had met plenty of women who claimed to like him.
Eventually, they would either fall for one of his friends or simply give up on him.
So, he didn't take Mu Jin seriously. Yet, the next three years proved him wrong.
Mu Jin pursued him relentlessly.
A few of his friends even tried to pursue her and openly confessed their feelings to her.
But she remained completely indifferent.
No matter who approached her, she only had eyes for Pei Ke.
Eventually, Pei Ke became curious. One day, he noticed Mu Jin looking worried about something.
For some reason, that made him worried as well. So, he decided to test her.
He started leaving anonymous letters in her locker.
It was another experiment.
