Xi Mei, thinking that her son had finally come to his senses, removed her hand from his mouth and smiled at Gwen.
Gwen, however, looked at Xi Jiao calmly.
"Your darkness is pretty visible."
Everyone froze.
Gwen continued, "I can barely sense it even though I don't know you."
Warren was also taken aback.
He didn't understand what Gwen meant.
But Gwen had been able to understand emotions from a very young age. Her emotional intelligence was exceptionally high, allowing her to sense what other people were feeling and, to some extent, what they intended.
She could tell that Xi Jiao wasn't simply interested in her because he thought she was beautiful.
He wanted to toy with her.
And not in an innocent way.
His interest carried a malicious intent.
Gwen wasn't going to show mercy toward someone like that.
The moment Xi Mei heard her words, she quickly defended her son.
"Miss Gwen, you must have misunderstood. My son isn't like that."
Warren raised his hand, stopping her.
