In a club, inside the VIP lounge, five ladies were the only ones in the lounge, four ladies sat across two luxurious long sofa, the last one sat proudly on a one seater sofa at the front
They were all chatting casually. They were all dressed in expensive outfits, most of them slightly revealing.
"Hu Yuelin, you just keep getting prettier every day. Please, share the secret of your beauty with us," one of the ladies said in a flattering tone.
The others nodded in agreement.
Hu Yuelin, who was seated at the front with her legs crossed elegantly, smiled with clear satisfaction. "Oh well, I don't really use anything special, just a little skincare. My beauty is natural," she said proudly, gently caressing her hair before flipping it back in a deliberately seductive way, making the diamond necklace around her neck catch the light and sparkle brilliantly.
"Is that a Van Cleef & Arpels diamond necklace?" another lady gasped, placing her hand over her mouth in shock.
Hu Yuelin chuckled softly. She had been waiting for them to notice, that was exactly why she flipped her hair earlier. Watching these ladies from upper class families admire her filled her with satisfaction. She loved being the center of attention.
"Yes, it is. Mo Yichen got it for me. He really cherishes me," she said with a soft smile.
"Oh my, I'm so jealous. You have a caring, rich, and handsome boyfriend, plus such a powerful family," the first lady added in a fake jealous tone. Even though she truly felt jealous, she made sure not to show it too much.
"So when are you and Mr. Mo Yichen getting engaged? I thought you said it would be soon, but we haven't heard any news," another lady asked curiously.
For a split second, Hu Yuelin almost panicked, but she quickly covered it up. She pouted slightly in a cute manner and forced a soft laugh. "Mo Yichen has been very busy with work lately, so we decided to delay it for now. But he promised me he would never leave me," she said, maintaining her composure. "He loves me very much."
The other ladies laughed along with her, playing along with the illusion.
Just then, her phone rang from where it lay beside her on the sofa.
"Oh, that must be Mo Yichen. He probably can't stay away from his baby," one of the ladies teased.
Hu Yuelin picked up her phone, but the moment she saw the caller ID, her expression shifted slightly before she quickly masked it with a smile.
"Yes, it's him," she said smoothly. "He never lets me rest, always checking up on me. I'll be right back."
With that, she stood up and gracefully walked out of the VIP lounge.

The atmosphere inside changed instantly.
The ladies scoffed and sneered.
They only tolerated Hu Yuelin because of her family's status. In high society, being associated with someone like her elevated their own status and created more opportunities for connections for their families. Otherwise, none of them would willingly spend time with someone so proud, fake, and full of lies.
Outside the club, Hu Yuelin moved further away from the noise before stopping. She looked around carefully, making sure no one had followed her or was secretly watching. Only after confirming she was alone did she finally answer the call.
"Mom! I told you I was going out with my friends today. Why are you calling me like this?" she complained.
"Your hangout is not important right now. Come home immediately. You're going to the Mo residence to have dinner with Mo Yichen and his grandmother," Madam Hu said firmly from the other end.
Hu Yuelin gasped in shock, her eyes widening.
"Really?! Does that mean Brother Mo Yichen has agreed to the engagement?" she asked excitedly.
"No. Just come home now," Madam Hu replied coldly before ending the call.
"I'll be on my way, Mother," Hu Yuelin said quickly, her voice filled with excitement.
After the call ended, she took a deep breath and composed herself before walking back into the VIP lounge.
"I think I have to leave now. Mo Yichen needs me," she announced. "I'll go pay the bill, and I'll leave extra so you girls can order anything you want. It's my way of apologizing for leaving early."
"Oh, you're so nice!" the ladies chorused sweetly.
Hu Yuelin smiled, picked up her bag, and said her goodbyes before heading out. She paid at the cashier just as she said, then walked toward her expensive car and drove off into the night.
