As I got down from the plane I immediately placed a call to Mariam to inform her i was there
"Yeah I'll be there in five ." she said and hung up .
I strolled around and bought myself snacks to keep myself busy till she came
Not long after my phone rang nonstop
"Where are you" she asked
"I'm by the entrance"
"Wait are you putting on a black short and a white shirt"
"Yup"
"I see you" the line went dead, I tucked my phone into my pocket and turned around only to see someone running towards me
"Jess!"she screamed "oh my gosh Jess it's been forever"she said as we hugged "how are you?"
"Good, you?"
"Never been better,oh you look so different"
"Do I ?"
"Yes,yes you do, you must be starving, come on let's go I made lunch "
"Well that's a first " she smacked my hand playfully grabbing my box and rolling it towards her car, I followed behind .
The drive to Mariam's condo was filled with Joy and laughter as we caught up on old times , the car immediately came to a halt
"We're here" I looked out through the window and was lost
"This is amazing, how long have you stayed here again"I asked Mariam who had gotten down from the car and was standing by my window now
"About a year" I was speechless "come on let's get you inside"
I got down from the car and walked towards the building with Mariam carrying my bags.
My mouth dropped as soon as the door flew open, I dropped the bag i was holding and walked into the place staring at every possible item there was
"This place is amazing" I squeaked
"You like it?,wait till you move into yours"
"Wait what?"
"When I told dad you were coming here and you needed a place to stay, he immediately bought you a condo here too "
"Really?"
"Don't worry it's on the same floor as mine " she said heading towards the kitchen, I wasn't sure if she was serious so I just stood there not wanting to get my hopes high
"Wow, okay I thought you'd be more happy buh..."before she could complete whatever she wanted to say I gave her a huge hug probably squeezing the life out of her
"Oh my gosh thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you "
"I can't breathe "
" My bad " I said letting go of her"but seriously thank you so much, I thought I'll never find a place"
" It's okay" she said shrugging it off "now let's eat I made pot roast"
We ended up eating pizza for lunch slash dinner cause Mariam's cooking wasn't really the best. between us everything was divided, I was the one who made the food, the quieter one, the smarter one ,the one who did the assignments she was just the opposite with some intresting qualities.
I flopped down on the bed beside Mariam who was already fast asleep, getting ready for bed, I checked my phone there were thousands of texts from Khloe, asking how it was over there, I smiled replying to every text, I dropped my phone ready to sleep.
I can't wait to start my new life here in New York.
