"Jojo! You… you can really see me?!"
"Yes!" Jojo nodded. His eyes curved like a crescent moon as he smiled. "Sisi, you look so pretty, but also so sad. Did I do something wrong that upset you?"
"Of course not, Jojo," Sisi replied.
"Then why are you crying?" Jojo asked while slowly reaching to touch his mother's cheeks. He caressed Sisi's cheeks and wiped her tears. "Sisi, don't be sad, okay? Uhm, I will be a good boy so you won't be sad anymore…"
"Oh, you—you really know how to make me laugh," Sisi giggled before pulling the boy into her embrace tightly. "From now on, promise me to grow up healthy and happy, that's all I want from you."
"Um! I promise!" Jojo said happily. "And Sisi must promise me that you will stay by my side forever! As umm… as my Mommy!"
Sisi should've said no.
Or at the very least, stayed silent, because she couldn't promise the boy such a thing when they would get separated in about two months.
