Just as I was about to absorb that last green wisp of energy, I heard an arrogant voice sounding from right behind me, as I caught the wisp and locked it on using my Mental Energy, I couldn't help but turn to where the voice came from just now .
I had already taken a few more steps forward towards the deeper parts of the cave, there shouldn't have been someone ahead of me other than the two people from before, so I got more than enough time to deal with any nuisance that might appear .
I had already given up on the thought of catching up with Zi Xue and Li Fu, if my calculations were right, they should be able to arrive to a nearby city, so following after them currently wasn't possible .
So instead, I would be searching for a clue about their destination here, then we will surely meet again by then, I looked back at who was talking in such a domineering and conceited tone, only to see that there were a group of people currently eying me from behind, their faces were cold to the extreme and they seemed ready to bounce on me at any second now .
One thing was common among all of them, was the fact that they all wore some Copper colored armors, the person leading them wore the only Silver colored armor, but the design of their armor was similar nonetheless, they were all belong to the same faction .
Those guys were from the mansion of the City Lord, those should be the City Lord's personal guards, the person who should have spoken just now should be the middle aged man in the silver plate of armor, he looked quite ferocious with his eyes squinted at me like this but he seemed to be still unwilling to lose his cautiousness and attack yet .
The man had a mustache and full connected beard, he was bald, that what made me certain that he was at least older than my Master, if I was dealing with these fellows with my previous identity, even though I wouldn't need to fear them, I will still need to abide to what they are telling me, but in this particular situation, where my identity wasn't at risk of getting exposed .
I was able to deal with these guys as I want, without caring about them making things difficult for me in the city or coming to take revenge later on, thinking like this, I turned around and stood face to face with the group of guards coming towards me in a hurry .
In less than a minute, I was actually now surrounded by those guys in what seemed to be another battle formation, they were more than 20 people, they were surrounding me using siege tactics, they made two circles which surrounded me, the first circle the one closest to me was operated by that silver plate armor guy himself .
The other one was also under the operation of that man, but their responsibilities were to stop me from trying to escape and that was all, the person who seem to be holding some high position and the one responsible for my current situation, after making sure that the subordinates of his were all in their position, he turned to me and said :
You reek of dangerous aura, how many people have you killed, how many atrocities have you committed, answer me you villain, who are you and are you willing to be arrested, or are you going to resist ? .
Hearing him say all this while I actually looking so proud of himself, I almost couldn't contain my laughter from beneath the mask and released a smirk, him seemed to have noticed this, he directly went berserk and said :
What are you smirking about, are you underestimating the Majesty of the city guards, guards, show this insolent guy how we deal with those who offend our city guards, in your position, Attack .
As he gave the order, the encirclement around me began to tighten more and more, then they all brandished their spears forward and seemingly ready to shred me to pieces with them, I opened my hand and the glowing wisp of energy appeared in my palm, which made that guy to order the guards to stop the onslaught .
My grin widened a bit more, seeing the greedy look on his face, he completely discarded my existence and where we were and completely focused on one thing, that thing was the wisp of energy in the palm of my hand, not even taking a minute to consider the fact that the wisp of energy was literally hovering in my palm .
Then after he took a few seconds to come back to his senses, he actually dared to say :
Tell you what, hand over the treasure in your hands and I will promise to ask for some leniency for you later, what do you say ? .
" Oh and here I thought that the City's Lord guards were here to execute Evil and bring justice, you turn out to be just some shameless people who don't know how high the sky is, really disappointing, all this for a one wisp of energy .
You..., you dare..... ? .
Just as he was about to continue with his empty threats, I had already devoured that wisp of energy in my stomach, the refreshing feeling came again, but this time it felt no longer effective as before, this wasn't because my body was building resistance for that green energy .
But my body had become quite sturdy in a short period of time, my body had improved enough after absorbing more than a dozen of that green wisps of energy, one more was no longer able to make that much of a difference, there was also no longer more cyclones and no more green wisps of energy to absorb around here .
You, you actually dare to waste something coveted by the City's Lord Mansion like this, kill him for me .
The moment the order was given they began to close on me from all sides, normally that would have been a headache, but after spending 15 minutes in accurately pinpointing and striking at the weakness of these cyclones, my swordsmanship have increased enough to not fear falling into a disadvantage in this situation .
I draw my Wind-Chaser Sword instead of Retribution, because I was still not certain of my ability to control the Resentment energy in it, one slight misjudgment and these guys might not even leave bones behind .
Then the attacks of their finally came knocking, I was given only a tight space of movement in this encirclement, but it was enough for me to use my enhanced eyesight to see through the pattern of their attacks and devise a way to counterattack .
Their timing wasn't perfected, possibly because they varied in strength, the strongest among those copper armored guards was in the 7th and the weakeast was in the 5th Layer Flesh Tempering, the variation in strength, resulted in their inability to coordinate their strikes, there were a few seconds delay between each spear and the other, which gave me who was able to see them still moving in slow motion enough time to devise a hit back strategy .
The first spear attack came at me from the back, these guys seemed to not care about honer in the slightest, I wasn't complaining since I had already anticipated this would happen, steeping to the side, I evaded this spear attack while it hadn't even hit me, crossing the small distance that separated me and the one who attacked in an instant, with the back of the sword in hand, I struck the chest of the one who had attacked earlier .
Me who currently have the strength of a 9th layer of Flesh Tempering directly sensed the crunching sound of the bones in that guy chest as he was directly send flying and crashed into another one of his friends, luckily those on the outer circle weren't brandishing their weapons, else this could have turned ugly .
No matter the reason for this conflict, if I were to kill some of the City's Lord guards here, the situation would be quite problematic, so it was better not to stir things up for myself or for our Dojo, getting in a conflict with the City's Lord Mansion was one of the thing, I currently can't do, but teaching this guy how to behave wasn't a problem .
You indeed have some skills, close the gap and use the killing formation .
The guards did as they were told, someone from the outer circle stepped in to fill the gap in the Inner circle around me, the guards thrusted their spear forward and began marching forward, leaving no more gaps for me to use and evade or do much of anything at all but to get pierced by at least dozen of those spears, normally that would have been the only outcome, but in this world the normal is subjected to whether you have something that can bend it to your will or not .
Sadly for them, I already have such a method in my arsenal, the moment they gave the spear they were thrusting a little shake forward to increase the penetration force, the guard with the silver armor already began rejoicing his win, it seem that he retreated cautiously to even behind the outer circle and his vision was obscured, so he believed that I was certainly dead and began laughing out loud .
But then the missing sounds of Flesh being pierced forced him to stop his laughter, then a cry from a guard sounded, that cry was wondering what was exactly going on, just when the guards eyes began to gleam evilly, seeing that their victory was close at hands, their expressions solidified when their spearheads were no longer able to continue piercing forward anymore .
It was as if their spears were clashing with an invisible and quite a sturdy wall, what was even more crazy, is the fact that their spears were no longer in their control, they were no longer able to pull or push them forward or backward, a stalemate, at least that what they most likely thought about this current situation, but they were terribly wrong .
Just as I used my Mental Energy to stop their attacks, I got a sudden inspiration, it was no more than a silly thought of mine at first, I thought that since I'm able to materialize a defensive shield in front of me with my Mental Strength, shouldn't I be able to use this materialized mental energy to push my enemies away .
I took the inspiration of this move from the time that my Mental Strength awakened before, but this time my intentions were not focused on throwing the people around me of the ground, but I wanted to throw away the weapons in their hands .
My idea actually worked, just as the weapons in their hands were still stuck in the invisible shield around me, they were suddenly propelled backwards, those who were perceptive enough of what was about to happen, those who at most sensed the danger that came with continuing to hold the body of the spear directly let go and like projectiles, the spears flew backwards .
Hitting those who were in the outer circle in the way, breaking their lines and for some of the unlucky ones who were unable to react in time and let go of their spears, they were sent flying into the nearest walls together with those who were foolish enough to stop in their ways .
Seeing how powerful was this idea of mine was, I couldn't help but wonder about what would be the results of me trying to do the same thing with humans, but the thought merely settled in my mind for a second before I discarded it, the reson was quite simple, currently it wasn't something possible .
What I just pulled off was already consuming enough, so not to mention trying to do other things, I currently able to do tricks like this two to three times maximum before I would began to feel numbness in my mind, if I pushed the number of times to 5, then the strong headaches will come knocking .
So the thought of sending people flying for now wasn't practical considering the consumption of mental energy, taking control of the weapons they were holding was also consuming, but due to the side and the lack of resistance, it was much more affordable to the current me .
After the debris settled down, I saw that 4 to 5 people from the closest circle were still standing there empty handed and looking at their comrades who were currently adorning the cave walls and then back at me with wide eyes and mouths .
The others from the outer circle who were still standing were 7 in total, including that Commander of their, it would round the number of all those who were still standing to be 13, only 8 of those 13 people still having their weapons and able to actually fight, but looking at the stunned faces of those who were around me, I doubt that they will embark on doing such a thing .
Spiritualist .
I didn't know who was the one who exclaimed this out loud, but once this cry fell into the ears of the other guards, the weapons in their hands were directly piled on the floor, it seem that I should really do some research on that Spiritualist title, I forgot to ask Master about it before and if I'm guessing correct, he might expect that other made up Master of mine to have explained everything for me .
Just as I thought everything would be over and was about to sheath my Sword disappointed that I hadn't gotten the chance to use it much in these circumstances, I heard the voice of the only person who seem to still in his senses, the Commander of this group said :
What are you getting nervous for, what if he was a Spiritualist, can he cover the sky with one hand our Young Master Song is also a born Spiritualist, can this villain be compared to him, I heard that Spiritualist consume a lot of energy every time they attack, there should be a chance for us to ascend to heaven in one full sweep if we were to kill, or even a better chance if we captured him alive, who is with me, I will split everything with you guys .
The moment the temptation he gave sunk in the minds of the remaining guards here, their fighting spirits were suddenly reignited and they become even determined than before, they bent down and equipped their spears again and start burning their Blood Qi, yes I was able to see this clearly, the Blood Qi of these people was being ignited and that was in an exchange of stronger strength .
The only exception was the Commander who seemed to be certain that he didn't need to rely on such a method to deal with me, I wonder where his confidence came from, was it from his being at the 2nd Layer of Organ Quenching Realm, or was this just out of pure arrogance .
Either way, I felt that there was no need to dissuade them to let me go any longer and just as I was about to teach them all a lesson, they might never forget for whatever would they have left to live, I heard another shout coming from behind us :
You dog Song Wei, even if I die today, I will let you die as a tribute to my fellow fallen disciples .
Just as we were about to fight, someone came interrupting us, who was Song Wei, what exactly was going on here, the mystery didn't last for long, I so the person who should be the one called Song Wei fleeing from this place in a quite the hurry, that person was none other than the guy with a sliver armor, he directly escaped and left his own subordinates behind .
I wanted to catch up with him but that damned guy throw something like an explosives behind him as he headed deeper into the cave, the explosives like things ended up in letting the rocks fall and pile up in front of me, completely blocking the way forward, luckily the rocks weren't that many, or I should say that the cave was much sturdier than it looked .
Even such an explosive wasn't enough to cut the road going forward, it will just take some time more and that was all, I have too many ways to clear the way, Solid Rock Fist was one of the options I have, unleashing one Punch with all my strength and might, could possibly even risk destroying this cave .
I was still looking at the road ahead and recalling what did that guy used earlier, but to no avail, the moment these items were thrown, they instantly exploded even faster than grenades back in my old world, but they should should be consumable items, I don't believe that he have so many of these items left on his hands .
Just as I was engrossed in my own thoughts, I began hearing the sounds of fighting and the clanging of weapons and foul curses from behind me, I turned my head slowly and saw that there were some people wearing blue similar robes with a green sword like badge embroidered on their left chest, they seem to be from another faction in the city .
The design of the clothes was enough to tell that they were from a quite the wealthy faction, what surprised me was the fact that they were being led by a girl, the girl had a scar under her eyes, that's why she was probably wearing that half a mask that covered only half of her face and left her cherry like lips and white jade like skin exposed for all the onlookers to behold .
I was able to see her scar due to the angle she stood and my over enhanced senses, those guys in blue robes were currently massacring those of the City's Lord Mansion, even though though the latter were already burning their Blood Qi for more strength, each of the individuals in front of me was much stronger than the Guards, they were two level higher in terms of Realm, not to mention their exquisite swordsmanship skills as well .
It didn't take them much time to finish off all the guards, the girl who seemed to be their leader was the most ruthless of the 8 people in front of me, after they finished dealing with all the guards, the girl who still seem to have not gotten enough of her bloodlust satisfied, she looked at me with squinted eyes and said while pointing her sword in my direction :
