Chapter 233: The Evolution and Flaws of the Ice Phoenix
"You saw through me after all," Shui Bing'er said with a smile. "My Martial Soul has changed."
"Changed?" Yu Tianlin's eyes widened at once. "Did your Martial Soul evolve?"
"Evolved… maybe." Shui Bing'er thought for a moment, then said, "It's too complicated to explain properly. I'll just show you."
As soon as she finished speaking, she reached out and lightly tapped Yu Tianlin with a slender, jade like finger.
In the next instant, a thin layer of ice condensed over his body.
It was only something Shui Bing'er formed casually with Spirit Power, so it did not have much binding force. Yu Tianlin shivered and shattered the thin ice immediately.
But even though the ice broke easily, Yu Tianlin's expression turned strange. Because along with the ice, several faint strands of starlight lingered around him. They curled like threads and carried a subtle suppressive force.

Golden Sacred Dragon collapsing into Luo Sanpao, and Fire Phoenix carrying evil fire, were both examples.
So Yu Tianlin's thoughts moved quickly.
"Your ice power is insufficient, right?" he asked. "No wonder your Martial Soul possession never looked that different."
Logically, with an Ice Phoenix Martial Soul, Shui Bing'er should show clear phoenix traits during Martial Soul possession, wings, feathers, or at least visible changes. Yet every time, she barely changed at all.
"Yes." Shui Bing'er nodded. "Water Condensation Flying Phoenix mutated toward Ice Phoenix, but the ice element inside it isn't strong enough to fully support that mutation. So my Ice Phoenix still has defects in that area."
She continued, "My Martial Soul Fusion Technique with Xue Wu was created based on that defect."
"Xue Wu's Martial Soul is Slim Dance Snow Decoration. It contains pure ice power, enough to make up for what I lack. That's why we can use the fusion technique."
"I understand." Yu Tianlin nodded. "The Star Luo Spirit Pearl gave you starlight power, but it didn't fix your lack of pure ice. So it shouldn't affect your fusion technique with Xue Wu."
"That's right." Shui Bing'er confirmed calmly. "Exactly that."
Ice power was still inherently insufficient.
Yu Tianlin frowned slightly. It was not that easy to solve.
The Yin Yang Well of Ice and Fire did not have a pure immortal herb that simply strengthened ice power. The closest thing, Eight Cornered Mysterious Ice Grass, was itself a poison, and had to be neutralized by Fiery Apricot Blossom.
That made it troublesome.
