Chapter 215 - Taking the Most Toxic Beating

What does it mean to run a hundred meters in 0.01 seconds?

If you convert that to kilometers, it's ten kilometers per second, equivalent to thirty times the speed of sound, or Mach 30. The immense drag and pressure generated by such instantaneous acceleration are simply not something a human body of flesh and blood can withstand.

Combined with the fact that Allen himself is a classic speed-oriented combatant, Beyond's defeat was ordained the moment he stepped into the reach of the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva. Unless one possesses the ability to instantaneously teleport beyond a hundred meters, all struggling is merely a delay of the inevitable.

Of course, the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva is not without its flaws. Aside from the final move, Zero Hand, it severely lacks explosive power; the amount of aura carried by each individual palm strike is relatively low.

Thus, even though Allen's total aura capacity far exceeded his opponent's, Beyond managed to withstand several rounds of attacks through the expert switching of Ken, Ryu, and Ko. The cost was merely a few broken bones and a terrifying amount of bruising across his back. This survival was also largely due to his intimate familiarity with every routine of the Guanyin, from the first palm to the ninety-ninth. Anyone else of similar caliber would likely have been flattened into mincemeat by now.

"Truly tenacious! Can't you just stop resisting and let me beat you to death quietly?" Allen mocked, putting on an expression of exaggerated annoyance.

"Pah! Don't be so impatient. Have a little more poise; our battle hasn't even truly begun." Beyond spat out a mouthful of clotted blood, his eyes still burning with a persistent thirst for victory.

Since the start of the battle, he had yet to reveal his actual Hatsu, engaging only in a pure exercise of taking a beating. Even after realizing the massive disparity in their aura volumes, he showed no intention of giving up.

"Interesting. Does your ability have something to do with taking hits and sustaining injuries? In that case, I'll be happy to oblige."

With that, Allen pressed his palms together once more, instantly triggering the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva: 99th Palm.

In an instant!

Countless golden palms descended from the sky, striking down with the speed of a thunderbolt.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The entire Hunter Association headquarters shook violently under the terrifying onslaught, accompanied by deafening roars. Within a mere 0.1 seconds, the small plaza was reduced to total rubble.

Destructive power of this magnitude would draw onlookers even in a war-torn region, let alone at the front gates of the Association. Consequently, the Zodiacs, led by Cheadle, quickly rushed out of the building using their respective abilities.

However, upon seeing the massive golden statue and the plaza looking as if it had been tilled by heavy artillery, they were met with expressions ranging from shock to utter disbelief.

Cheadle, who was closest to Allen, demanded directly, "What on earth is happening? How do you have Chairman Netero's ability? And who were you just fighting?"

"It's a long story. I'll explain later. For now, please stay back. I'll pay for the damages in full."

Allen's attention was entirely fixed on Beyond; he had no time for pleasantries. At the exact moment the 99th Palm concluded, he clearly felt his opponent's aura surge several times over.

Clearly, the trigger for Beyond's ability was indeed taking a beating, specifically, a "toxic" one. The more damage and pain he endured, the more powerful the Nen he could unleash. This Hatsu likely originated from years of being pulverized by Isaac Netero's Guanyin. After all, any Nen user raised in an environment where their father constantly ground them into the dirt would eventually develop a way to grow stronger through the pain.

"Ugh... it's been a long time since I've felt pain like this! I never thought I'd experience this feeling again now that the old man is dead."

Amidst pained groans, Beyond slowly pushed aside the rocks and soil pinning him down and crawled out of the massive crater. Though he was covered in wounds and looked as if he might collapse at any second, his aura had risen to a dangerously critical point. His scars and bruises pulsed with an eerie light.

"Be... Beyond?!" Cheadle recognized the man who had been dominating the television news for the past few days.

"Hey, hey! You've got to be kidding me! This guy is a wanted criminal! How does he dare show up at the Association's front door?" Pyon, the Rabbit, raised an eyebrow in shock. The other Zodiacs shared her sentiment.

"Hahahaha! Don't blame me! I was actually planning to turn myself in," Beyond replied with a wide, blood-streaked grin.

"Turn yourself in?" Mazaistom, the Ox, instinctively reached for his three-colored Nen cards.

"Exactly! But none of that matters now! Since the fight has started, it won't end until a winner is decided. Right, 'successor' personally chosen by the old man?" Beyond lunged forward, initiating the attack.

This time, his speed had reached a frightening level, closing the thirty-meter gap in the blink of an eye.

But Allen was faster.

He slammed a golden palm down, pinning Beyond to the ground again, and replied coldly, "Yeah. Reasons don't matter anymore. What matters is that you die here today. Come, let me see where your limit lies! Let's see how strong your Nen can become through the agony!"

"HRAAAAAAGHHH!!!!!"

"I AM BEYOND NETERO! NO MATTER HOW STRONG YOU ARE, I WILL SURPASS YOU!!!"

Beyond roared as his aura exploded even further, forcibly lifting the massive golden hand that was pressing down on him.

Without a doubt, he was a classic Enhancer, one who used injury to achieve a multi-dimensional boost in aura volume, speed, strength, and reaction time. From his current state, he was still far from his ceiling.

"Well done! Worthy of praise! I now acknowledge you as the second strongest Nen user in the human world, beneath me, of course. You're even stronger than Chairman Netero was in his prime. To be precise, you have surpassed him." Allen wore a faint smile, offering his praise without reservation.

Beyond was unimpressed, his eyes filled with murderous intent. "Don't get cocky, kid! I'll make you pay for your arrogance soon enough."

"Heh, do it if you can. You should know that right now, I haven't even brought out a fifth of my true strength." Allen completely ignored the threat, not even bothering to reach for his bow. He wanted to see the absolute limit of Beyond's ability, to see if it could reach the level of Gon's "vow and limitation" transformation.
