"What's going on? What happened to your body? How did you suddenly obtain both the Wood Release and the Sharingan, two distinct Kekkei Genkai?"
The Four-Tails, Son Gokū, clearly sensed the change and immediately couldn't help but ask.
"Stupid gorilla! It's my ability, of course!" Vaelastrasz instantly popped out to brag.
"You?"
There was a hint of surprise in the Four-Tails' voice. As for being called a "stupid gorilla," it had long since grown accustomed to it. To be precise, these two spent their free time bickering to pass the boredom, even going as far as giving each other nicknames.
"Of course! By devouring the flesh and blood of others, I can analyze and filter their genes. I preserve the parts that trigger Kekkei Genkai transformations while purging the detrimental elements, finally integrating them into Master's body. Devouring, usurping, and merging. That is my power! Well? Compared to a stupid gorilla like you who can only provide Lava Release Chakra, aren't I much more impressive?" Vaelastrasz explained with an air of triumph.
"Hmph. What's there to be proud of? You're just something created by that mysterious power called Nen."
Son Gokū curled its lip, feigning disdain. However, it wasn't hard to tell from its tone that it was actually quite envious of Vaelastrasz's ability, and even more envious of her having a physical body of flesh and blood, rather than being sealed inside a Jinchuriki like itself.
Allen ignored the duo's daily bickering. He checked the changes in his own body and asked in an uncertain tone, "Since I've merged Hashirama's cells with the Uchiha clan's Sharingan, and added the natural power of a Tailed Beast, I should theoretically have gathered both Yin Release and Yang Release. So why hasn't that barrier broken yet? Why hasn't the Rinnegan, the symbol of the power of all creation, manifested?"
"Because it's not enough. Specifically, the secret of the Mangekyō Sharingan is not as simple as we imagined. Besides Chakra and the power of Yin Release, it seems to require the integration of a strong subjective desire and emotion to activate. If you're willing to let me swallow that Mangekyō Sharingan, I might be able to find the answer," Vaelastrasz hurried to explain.
"Strong subjective desire and emotion? Ah... I see. The Uchiha clan's Yin Release Sharingan creates form and matter through the power of the spirit. That's why, when breaking through from the three-tomoe to the Mangekyō level, different abilities are born based on each individual's choice. Shisui yearned to bridge the growing rift between his clan and the village, so Kotoamatsukami was born. Obito was pinned by rocks and yearned to escape, so he obtained Kamui..."
After a brief analysis, Allen quickly deduced the conditions for awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan and the reasons behind the varied abilities.
To put it simply, it came down to one word: Creation.
By combining subjective will with Yin Release, the final result was the enviable and powerful abilities of the Mangekyō Sharingan. As for external mental trauma, such as the belief that one must witness the death of a loved one, friend, or family member to open the eyes, that was simply because most couldn't precisely control their Yin Release.
"Vaelastrasz! Find the hidden Yin Release within my bloodline and activate it!"
Allen gave the Red Dragon the command without a second thought.
"As you wish!"
As a Dragon of Life born from a Nen ability, Vaelastrasz could monitor every cell and nerve in her master's body, let alone a flowing energy like Chakra.
In just a few minutes, she found a small portion of hidden, mysterious Chakra at the junction where the brain connects to the optic nerves. It was entirely different from the five elemental natures—Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Lightning—or the Kekkei Genkai produced by their fusion. This slightly chilly energy was like a block of eternal ice, completely covering the area of the cerebral cortex used for storing memories.
Predictably, once activated, it would cause intense discomfort or even extreme agony.
But Vaelastrasz did not hesitate, directly activating the cluster of Yin Release Chakra.
In the next second...
Allen felt as if his brain had instantaneously exploded. Indescribable pain surged from his central nervous system straight to his eyeballs. In less than a minute, he revisited the most painful, distressing, and uncomfortable parts of his memory from beginning to end.
When it was all over, the three-tomoe Sharingan that had only recently finished evolving finally merged together, transforming into three outward-expanding arrow shapes.
Without a doubt, this was the Mangekyō Sharingan he had formed through a powerful subjective will. As for its ability, it was naturally related to bows and arrows. After all, his Hunter class template was his strongest trump card, bar none.
"This feeling... is absolutely wretched. No wonder every Uchiha undergoes a drastic and unstable personality shift after awakening the Mangekyō," Allen complained, rubbing his eyes which were still throbbing and swollen.
"The Yin Release Chakra has completely fused with your optic nerves. Next, I can attempt to merge the Yang Release from the First Hokage's cells," Vaelastrasz reported softly.
But Allen shook his head in refusal. "Don't rush. The Mangekyō Sharingan is only the first step. The next step is the Eternal Mangekyō! Tell me, what are the defects of these eyes right now?"
"The Yin Release Chakra is limited and almost entirely fused with the eyes. For anyone else, once it's exhausted, it leads to permanent blindness. But for you, it's irrelevant. You can create new Yin Release Chakra out of thin air by activating your genes," Vaelastrasz answered nonchalantly.
"So... the reason a normal Mangekyō has a limited lifespan is that its own Yin Release Chakra runs out. Then why does transplanting another pair of eyes from one's own brother remove this limit?" Allen asked, puzzled.
"I don't know. Perhaps a recessive gene is activated, or it's the result of two distinct Yin Release Chakras interacting. We can gather more information by devouring more Mangekyō, or even an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan."
With that, Vaelastrasz deactivated her necklace form, floating in mid-air as a small, cartoonish dragon. Her two eyes instantly condensed into the Mangekyō shape as well.
However, unlike Allen's three-arrow pattern, her Mangekyō took on a shape resembling a Red Dragon's head.
Driven by curiosity, Allen asked directly, "What ability did you obtain?"
"Life! The ability to bestow true life upon inanimate objects," Vaelastrasz answered in an excited tone.
Although she wasn't strictly a Red Dragon from Azeroth, that egg had given her the instincts of a Red Dragon, the power to control life. This instinct had finally been sublimated after undergoing a thorough metamorphosis and evolution.
"Bestowing life? You mean you can give life and intelligence to the elemental constructs I create?"
Allen immediately thought of the applications for this ability.
"More than that! I can also change their life forms, or even the bloodlines and genes of other organisms. From this day forward, I am the Master of Life in deed as well as name."
As she spoke, a strange light flickered within Vaelastrasz's crimson Sharingan...
