"You seem quite confident in your ability?"
Allen drew a full bow, aiming an arrow imbued with a small amount of Nen at his target, his tone laced with faint mockery and amusement.
It had to be said, Obito's Mangekyo ability, Kamui, was remarkably broken; otherwise, it wouldn't have convinced Nagato that he was Madara Uchiha with only a single eye.
Unfortunately, today he had encountered an ability that was even more unreasonable and broken. While it didn't sound as high-and-mighty as a space-time Ninjutsu, its practical effect was astonishing.
"No one in this world can harm me," Obito stated, posturing dramatically as he stood stock-still.
It was evident he relished the reaction of utter surprise and bewilderment that others typically displayed upon first encountering Kamui. Only then could his heart, twisted by darkness long ago, find a sliver of solace, allowing him to feel powerful, not merely a successor and executor of Madara Uchiha's grand design.
"Is that so? Then let me put that to the test."
The words had barely left his mouth when Allen released his grip on the bowstring.
In the next instant...
Swoosh!
The arrow crossed the less-than-twenty-meter distance instantly, piercing through Obito's shoulder with a thwack, instantly pulverizing a significant portion of the half of his body composed of White Zetsu material.
"Wh... What?! My ability failed? How is this possible!"
Staring at the white cellular tissue already reduced to fragments and scattering in the wind, utter horror flashed in Obito's eyes, impossible to conceal. Since awakening his Mangekyo Sharingan, this was the first time Kamui had ever failed, resulting in a direct hit without a single moment of delay.
"Heh, you seem quite surprised? Don't forget, you're not the only one with a Mangekyo Sharingan. And if I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead by now," Allen sneered sarcastically.
Was Obito Uchiha formidable? From the perspective of Kamui's full power, yes, incredibly so. The problem was, he currently possessed only one eye, and it was the defensive one. Aside from top-tier survival capability, he was simply nothing to fear. At least to the current Allen, Obito was less of a threat than Nagato, who wielded the Rinnegan and the Six Paths of Pain.
"Your Mangekyo actually counters mine?"
Though Obito tried desperately to maintain a composed front, he was ultimately just a mentally unstable, "eternal simp," utterly lacking Madara Uchiha's innate pride and arrogance. Were he the real Madara, he wouldn't deign to hide his identity behind a mask.
Allen nodded slightly. "Exactly. My left eye's ability is Guaranteed Hit. Regardless of whether you use an ability focused on time or space, it becomes utterly meaningless the moment I launch an attack. Unless you could learn a defensive Ninjutsu like the Lightning Release Armor, or perhaps total body hardening, and maybe manage to resist a bit, otherwise, you're just a lamb to the slaughter."
"Damn! I miscalculated!"
Realizing the situation was severely against him, Obito immediately attempted to activate Kamui to warp himself into the other dimension and escape. Before he could complete the process, however, a second arrow tore through the air, piercing his other shoulder and pinning him firmly to a large tree.
"Don't move. If I were you, I wouldn't try to be clever right now. Because unless you can complete the transfer in under 0.1 seconds, my arrows will endlessly strike you and interrupt the process," Allen warned with ominous gravity, bow and arrow still in hand.
"What exactly do you want?"
Seeing that retreat had become a luxury, Obito looked up and questioned through gritted teeth. He never dreamed he would one day meet his match like this, nor could he believe this individual's strength was far greater than he had imagined. Guaranteed Hit, in particular, was beyond troublesome.
"Nothing much. I just want that eye of yours, that's all."
With that, Allen flickered to the spot and, in the split second before Obito could react, directly extracted the Kamui Mangekyo using a chakra scalpel.
"AAAAAGH!!!!"
The excruciating pain wrenched a scream from Obito's lips, and the mask on his face shattered simultaneously, revealing his true features.
"A Mangekyo Sharingan? This person is also from the Uchiha clan?" Sasuke's eyes widened in shock.
"Yes. His name is Obito Uchiha, Kakashi's former teammate and companion. He is also one of the masterminds and key perpetrators behind the Uchiha clan massacre. Remember the Nine-Tails incident? That was his doing. If you want revenge, you can act now."
Allen couldn't care less whether Obito lived or died, tossing the Kamui Mangekyo directly to Vaelastrasz.
She, without hesitation, swallowed it instantly. Counting the one from Shisui previously, this was the second Mangekyo Sharingan she had consumed.
Just seconds later, the shape of Allen's Mangekyo Sharingan underwent subtle changes; new patterns were integrated into the original three outward-pointing arrowheads, making it appear far more complex.
Feeling a change impossible to put into words, Allen asked with hesitation, "My sense of space seems stronger?"
"Correct! Just as Shisui's eye enhanced your Genjutsu capabilities, Obito's eye has enhanced your spatial awareness. Now, when you perform the Flying Raijin, you no longer need the assistance of an electric field; you can arbitrarily cross spatial distances. Of course, if you could get Shisui and Obito's other eyes for me to consume, it might even be possible to replicate all of their Mangekyo abilities." Vaelastrasz quickly explained.
"If I fuse Yin and Yang Release to awaken the Rinnegan, will my Sharingan abilities be retained?" Allen asked, addressing his primary concern. If memory served, when the Mangekyo evolved into the Rinnegan, original unique abilities typically vanished completely.
"Perhaps not for others, but for us, who can easily manipulate genes and energy, it only requires a small modification, no difficulty at all." Vaelastrasz gave her assurance with a relaxed tone.
"I see. It seems the Chimera Ant King really contributed significantly to us." Allen curled his lips into a faint smile.
"Indeed. Speaking of which, I almost miss his arrogant front. It's a pity he was ultimately just a beast who had newly acquired wisdom; no matter how strong individually, he was still a fragile newborn before humanity." Vaelastrasz reflected with a touch of sentiment.
With the Nen ability eggs remaining and merging, she could feel she was about to welcome her next round of evolution. And this time, she would unify Nen and chakra into one, rather than simply using the two energies separately.
