Chapter 109: Magical Range

Bellatrix looked into his eyes for just a second before opening her mouth, her face contorting into an expression of horror. She fell onto the floor and grasped her head.

Rodolphus Lestrange, accepting that none of them could speak or use magic, threw away his wand and charged at Harry, intending to bash his head with his powerful fists.

"Careful!" Ginny stood in front of him and aimed her wand at the large man. "Stupefy!" She tried to use a stunner, but just like what happened to the Death Eaters, no spell came out. Not even a tiny spark.

Rodolphus was only a few feet away from her at this point.

Harry moved his hand. The runes on his body became alive and, from the tip of his fingers, came a semi-translucent construct in the shape of a blade.

It moved forward while distorting. The ghostly blade curved just enough to avoid hitting Ginny and passed by Rodolphus' neck, producing a clean cutting sound while doing it.

Rodolphus stopped in his tracks as his eyes opened widely. Blood began to pour from his neck.

"Turn around, Ginny." Harry grabbed the girl and moved her away before Rodolphus Lestrange's head became separated from his shoulders. "No need to see that."

The other Death Eaters, who had the same idea as Rodolphus, were now thinking it over and instead were looking at each other to see if anyone else wanted to go first.

Meanwhile, Bellatrix was convulsing on the floor. Her mouth was frothing, and her eyes had turned white.

They all watched her as this was happening, and not even ten seconds later, she stopped moving.

"Mmm… It seems like I was a bit too rough with my probing," said Harry. But there was no pity in his eyes.

He glanced at the remaining Death Eaters. "You think it's unfair that I can do magic and you can't?" Harry asked the masked men. "Because I bet that all the muggles you killed during your raids probably felt the same way."

The remaining six Death Eaters couldn't really do anything in return, so they just stood there and glared at Harry with hateful eyes.

"Harry…" Ginny put a hand on his shoulder. "Just put them to sleep. You don't need to dirty your hands any more than this. They are not worth it." Her tone was soft but firm.

"She is right, Harry. Leave them to us." Sirius said before moving forward and punching the unaware Wormtail in the back of his head, knocking him out immediately. "We will take care of them."

"Fine." Harry snapped his fingers, and the five masked men collapsed onto the floor. " I have merely put them to sleep. But don't be too lenient. They were planning on killing everyone in this house… I could see it in their thoughts."

The Weasley family, plus Hermione, made their way out of the corridor they had been trapped in, walking by the unconscious Death Eaters.

"Holy shit, mate." Ron grimaced when he saw the decapitated Rodolphus from up close. "That was sick."

"Truly sick…" Hermione grimaced before looking away. "Harry… what did you do?" she asked while glancing at her wand. "None of us could do magic."

"Lumos," said Ginny, producing a flash of light from her wand. "Hey, it works again!"

"I just pushed all the magic away until it was beyond their reach. With no magic energy to use, it's not possible to construct a spell." Harry explained it just because Hermione asked, but he didn't think they would understand what he was talking about.

Not many wizards or witches would question why they were able to perform magic when muggles couldn't.

Wizards were able to perceive and synchronize with energies that muggles could not even feel.

"But you coul use magic." Ron pointed at the obvious. "You were doing spells."

"Because I moved it out of their reach… not mine." Harry shook his head. "Forget about it. This is not the time for that… Hogwarts is in danger, and everyone who is still in the castle."

"What?! What do you mean? Are they attacking the school as well?" Sirius asked.

"When I read Bellatrix's mind, I discovered their plans. While these Death Eaters were attacking the house, Voldemort and the rest of his army were going to Hogwarts. Perhaps they are already there," Harry said.

"Then we need to hurry," Ginny added. "We have to go help."

"Whoa, hold on a moment." Molly Weasley hurried to intervene. "If that is true…" She made an expression of disgust as she passed by the corpse to reach them. "Then that is even more reason for you to not go anywhere near Hogwarts."

"Your mother is right," Arthur Weasley said. "It's best to stay here an—"

"This place is no longer safe." Harry interrupted him. "The Death Eaters have destroyed the wards. It may take days before they work again. However…" He turned to Ginny. "I agree with them in one thing… no one should be going to Hogwarts right now."

"What?! Bu—"

"No, Ginny," Harry said. "Use the necklace I gave you. Take everyone to the tower. You will be safe in there."

"Are you planning on doing things by yourself again?" Hermione asked.

Harry nodded. "This one thing… I have to do it by myself. Voldemort has become too dangerous for anyone else to be close."

"I mean… normally I would agree with you, Mione, but I think Harry's got this one," Ron said.

"Ron!" Hermione huffed.

"Hey, you've seen what he did to those Death Eaters. They didn't stand a chance. It was awesome!"

"Harry." Sirius approached him. "Are you sure about this? I could go with you. I'm not sure how much help I could be right now, but…"

"I am sure. Besides…" Harry pointed at the unconscious Death Eaters. "You have another job already."

He moved away from the group and opened a portal.

"Harry. Promise me that you will come back alive," Ginny said.

"Of course. I promise." He showed her his ring. "We still have much to do."
