Chapter 17 - HYDRA Causes Chaos

Hydra operatives stormed the city. Explosions tore through buildings, civilians screamed, and agents pressed toward the hammer's site. Their commander barked orders, determined to exploit the anomaly's energy.

"Push forward! The chaos blinds S.H.I.E.L.D. The anomaly's power will belong to Hydra!"

At the hammer's perimeter, Coulson directed S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. To him, it looked like civil unrest spiraling out of control;

"Hold the barricades! Keep civilians safe. The hammer doesn't leave our sight. Whatever's happening out there, we contain it here."

But Hydra's forces pressed harder, and civilians panicked, rushing toward escape routes.

Thor, stripped of his divinity and mortal, arrived at the site. His steps were heavy, his face grim. He had only been on Earth for two days, and Hydra was unknown to him.

"I know not these men, nor their cause. But the hammer is mine. I will see it safe."

Jane watched anxiously as Thor moved toward the barricades, determination etched into his mortal frame.

Back in the chamber, Alexa's holographic feed displayed the chaos in real time.

"Alexa, keep every civilian under control. Guide them to safety. No panic, no casualties."

Alexa's systems activated, drones and automated signals directing civilians away from danger zones.

Tony leaned forward, his smirk fading into determination.

"Jarvis, transfer injured civilians to the safe route. Prioritize medical evac. Hydra wants chaos ,we'll give them order."

Jarvis deployed Stark-tech drones, carrying the wounded toward secure corridors.

Steve raised his shield, his voice steady.

"Avengers ,move out. Hydra's revealed their hand. Let's show them what unity looks like."

Natasha struck Hydra agents with precision, Clint's arrows cut through their ranks, Benjamin's calm strength broke their lines. Tony's repulsors lit the battlefield, scattering Hydra squads.

KB moved with uncanny mastery ,his maya cloaking his true nature, his divine strength and energy manipulation flowing subtly through his strikes. Hydra soldiers fell before him, unaware of the deeper power he concealed.

Thor, mortal but unyielding, fought alongside S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, fists and mortal courage proving his worth. Though he did not know Hydra, he knew the hammer must not fall into their hands.

The coordinated strike shattered Hydra's assault. Natasha's precision, Clint's arrows, Tony's repulsors, Steve's shield, Benjamin's calm strength, and KB's uncanny mastery overwhelmed their forces. Hydra operatives fell back, their commander barking retreat orders.

"Fall back! Regroup! This city will not hold us today!"

Smoke cleared, and silence began to settle over the battlefield.

Coulson surveyed the wreckage, his agents regrouping. He finally pieced together the truth.

"This wasn't civil unrest. It was orchestrated. Hydra… they caused this chaos."

His jaw tightened as the weight of Hydra's infiltration became undeniable.

Thor, mortal and weary, approached the hammer. He placed his hands upon Mjolnir, straining, but it did not move. His breath caught, frustration and sorrow mingling.

 "Still… I am not worthy."

Jane watched, her heart aching, as Thor knelt before the weapon that once answered his call.

The Avengers regrouped, their eyes turning toward KB. His movements in battle had been too precise, his strikes too powerful, his aura too controlled.

Steve spoke first, his voice steady but curious.

"You fought like no one I've ever seen. That wasn't just training. What are you holding back, KB?"

Tony smirked, but his tone carried genuine respect.

"Yeah, Morgan. You've got tricks up your sleeve. Energy manipulation, combat mastery, and whatever that maya thing is. You're not showing us the whole deck, are you?"

Natasha's eyes narrowed, studying him carefully. Clint exhaled, sensing the same hidden depth. Benjamin stood silently, proud but protective of his cousin.

KB's gaze was calm, his voice measured.

"Every power has its time. Today, you saw only what was necessary ,maya, strength, energy, combat. The rest remains hidden, for now. Hydra is not yet finished, and neither am I."

Fury's single eye lingered on KB, his mind racing.

Fury (inwardly):Morgan conceals more than he reveals. His restraint is deliberate, his wisdom unmatched. He's not just an Avenger .he's something greater. And one day, the world will see it.

Thor's hands clenched around the hammer's handle, his muscles straining, veins bulging as he pulled with all his might. The weapon did not move. His breath grew ragged, his pride unraveling, until at last he threw his head back, voice breaking with fury.

"Father! Why do you torment me so?!"

The cry echoed across the barren site, swallowed by silence. The Avengers exchanged uneasy glances. Natasha's eyes narrowed, Tony tilted his head with a smirk that didn't quite reach his eyes, and Steve's gaze sharpened. To them, he was just a man raging at the heavens, not a god stripped of his divinity.

KB stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with mischief, lips curling into a grin.

"My friend, don't despair. There are three here who can lift the hammer."

The words struck like lightning. The Avengers turned toward him, startled, their thoughts racing. Could it be true? Thor's gaze snapped to KB, disdain flashing.

"Three? Ha! Impossible. If any mortal dares lift this hammer, I shall call him my elder brother."

KB chuckled softly, his tone playful yet deliberate.

"Then let us see. One by one."

Natasha stepped forward first, her movements precise, her expression unreadable. She gripped the handle, pulled, and the hammer remained unmoved. Hawkeye followed, then Fury, then Tony ,all failed, their efforts met with Thor's smirk of superiority.

 "As I said. None can."

But then Steve Rogers approached. His movements were steady, his gaze resolute. He placed his hand on the handle, and with quiet strength, the hammer rose from the ground as if it weighed nothing. The air grew still. The Avengers stared in disbelief. Thor's smirk shattered.

"…Impossible."

Benjamin Morgan stepped forward next. His eyes glimmered faintly, though hidden beneath KB's nanotech healer. He grasped the hammer and lifted it with ease. Thor's face twisted, pride cracking into something uglier.

 "No… no, this cannot be."

Finally, KB approached. His grin softened into serenity as his hand closed around the hammer. The moment he lifted it, the world itself seemed to change. Thunder roared, the skies trembled, galaxies rippled with joy. The earth sang in celebration, and every soul present felt an inexplicable surge of happiness. The hammer did not merely rise ,it exulted.

The Avengers felt it too. Natasha's lips parted in awe, Tony's smirk dissolved into silence, Steve's eyes widened with reverence. Even Fury, hardened by years of secrets, felt his chest swell with a joy he could not explain. For a heartbeat, suspicion and doubt vanished ,there was only celebration.

Far away, Heimdall's eyes widened, and Odin leaned forward upon his throne, stunned.

In KB's grasp, the hammer was not a weapon, but a herald. The cosmos rejoiced, for in his touch was not only worthiness, but destiny itself.

Thor stood frozen, dumbfounded, his arrogance shattered into silence. The Avengers, still reeling from the joy that washed over them, looked at KB with awe. To them, Thor was just a man ,but KB was something far greater.

Thor's pride had been shattered piece by piece ,first by Rogers, then Benjamin, and finally KB. His face twisted, and with a growl of frustration, he turned away from them all. Without a word, Thor walked into the shadows, his heavy steps echoing with humiliation.

As he moved, a shimmer of golden light appeared before him. A book materialized in the air, its cover etched with intricate patterns that glowed faintly. Across its front, in bold letters, it read: KB's Diary.

Thor's eyes narrowed. Curiosity overcame his anger, and he reached out, opening the diary. His gaze fell upon words that spoke of events yet to come—wars, losses, and the unraveling of his destiny. He laughed, the sound sharp and mocking.

"So this is your trick, KB? You write of futures as though you command the sky itself. You do not know how vast it truly is."

KB sat quietly, away from the others, his expression unreadable. The golden-patterned diary shimmered before him, waiting. He dipped his thoughts into its pages, words flowing like fate itself.

"Thor, my friend. Banished by Odin to Midgard, stripped of his divinity, so he might learn humility. He clings to arrogance, blind to the truth. He believes strength alone defines worth, but he will learn otherwise. He will lose everything. And when Thanos rises, Asgard itself will fall into ruin. Only then will Thor understand what true power is—not in might, but in heart."

The letters glowed, etched into the diary's pages. As KB finished, the words rippled outward, carried across unseen threads of destiny.

At that same moment, the diary holders felt the weight of their books. Tony Stark pulled his out, the golden cover glowing faintly. Natasha, Fury, Steve, and Hawkeye did the same. And in Sokovia, Wanda Maximoff's hands trembled as her own diary appeared before her.

They opened them ,and saw KB's update.

Tony: "…Wait. This is about him. About that hammer-obsessed guy. Odin banished him? That's… mythology."

Natasha: "It says he'll lose everything. And Thanos… Asgard destroyed. KB isn't just recording ,he's predicting.

 Steve:

: "If this is true, then Thor isn't just a man. He's something more. And KB… KB knows too much."

Fury :"This changes everything. KB's diary isn't a journal ,it's a weapon. Knowledge of the future itself."

Hawkeye: "But we tested it. Only holders could see the diary. Only holders could read it. How do we all have the same words now?"

They looked at one another, stunned. For the first time, they realized the diaries were not private. They were bound together, each one reflecting KB's updates in perfect synchrony.

In Sokovia, Wanda's voice was soft, her eyes wide as she read the prophecy.

"Thanos… Asgard… destruction. KB writes of gods and monsters as if they are pieces on a board. But why show us this? Why now?"

Her fingers brushed the glowing letters, and she felt a strange pull in her chest ,a resonance, as though the diary was speaking not just to her mind, but to her soul.

Thor, meanwhile, stared at his own diary, his hands trembling. The words cut deeper than any blade: "Thor must learn what true power is. Not in arrogance, not in strength, but in humility and heart."

His voice cracked, fury and despair mingling.

"You… you mock me, KB. You strip me of honor, of glory, and now you write of my ruin.

The golden-patterned diaries glowed faintly in each holder's hands. KB's latest entry rippled across the pages, binding them together:

"Thor was banished to Midgard by Odin, stripped of his divinity, so he might learn humility. He will lose everything. And when Thanos rises, Asgard itself will fall into ruin. Only then will Thor understand what true power is—not in might, but in heart."

Tony leaned back, diary in hand, his brow furrowed.

"So now we're reading Norse mythology in real time? Odin, banishment, Asgard destroyed by some purple titan… KB's writing like he's scripting the end of the world. But if this is true, then that hammer guy isn't just delusional. He's the real deal. And KB… KB's playing chess with gods." His skepticism was sharp, but beneath it, unease gnawed at him.

Natasha's eyes narrowed as she traced the glowing letters.

"He knows too much. Every update is precise, deliberate. If KB can record the future, then he's not just an ally ,he's a liability. Knowledge like this can topple nations. And Thor… if he really is who KB says, then we're standing next to a god stripped of his power." Her suspicion deepened, but she kept her voice calm, her mind already calculating contingencies.

Steve's jaw tightened as he read.

"If Thor's banishment is meant to teach him humility, then he deserves a chance to prove himself. KB's words… they're heavy, but they're not the end. Destiny isn't fixed. I don't care what the diary says ,Thor can choose who he becomes." His moral concern was clear: he saw the prophecy not as doom, but as a test of character.

Fury's single eye narrowed, his grip firm on the diary.

"This is dangerous. KB's diary isn't just prophecy ,it's leverage. If word of this got out, every government, every power broker would kill to get their hands on it. And now we know Thor's a god in exile? That's a powder keg waiting to blow." Paranoia sharpened his thoughts. He saw threats everywhere, and KB's knowledge was the greatest of them all.

Clint rubbed the back of his neck, staring at the glowing pages.

"I don't like this. We thought these diaries were private. Now we're all reading the same words, at the same time. It feels… invasive. Like KB's pulling strings we don't even see. And Thor? If he's really a god, then what does that make KB?" Unease settled in his chest. He trusted his instincts, and they told him KB was far more than he appeared.

Far away, Wanda's fingers trembled as she touched the glowing letters. The words about Thor and Asgard blurred, but something deeper stirred within her. That night, she dreamed.

In her dream, she was not Wanda, nor was KB a mortal man. She was Radha, the goddess of love, and he was her eternal companion. Their love was not bound by flesh or time ,it was divine, woven through ages, a melody that had never ceased. She saw them walking together through lifetimes, their bond unbroken, their souls entwined.

When she awoke, the dream was hazy, slipping from her grasp like mist. Yet the feeling remained ,an inexplicable pull toward KB. Curiosity burned in her heart.

Wanda (whispering to herself): "There is something about him… something that calls to me. Not mortal, not ordinary. Something eternal."

Her diary glowed faintly beside her, and she felt the resonance again. KB's words were prophecy, but his presence was something more ,something that drew her closer, even across distance.

The diaries bound them all, each holder interpreting KB's words through the lens of their own nature ,skepticism, suspicion, morality, paranoia, unease, and mystical intuition. Thor panicked, his pride collapsing into fear. The Avengers were shaken, their trust in KB wavering. And Wanda, far away, felt the stirrings of something divine, a love that transcended mortality.

Thor sat restless, the golden diary heavy in his hands. He longed to ask KB about the words etched in prophecy ,about Asgard's destruction, about Thanos ,but the restriction bound him. Every attempt to speak of the diary caught in his throat, silenced by unseen force.

So instead, he watched KB. And through the days that followed, he began to see him differently.

Thor and Jane found themselves crossing paths with the Avengers again and again. Once in a crowded marketplace, once during a Hydra raid, once even in a quiet café. Each meeting seemed accidental, yet too precise to be chance.

Jane (to Thor, whispering): "Strange, isn't it? We keep running into them."Thor (gruffly, but thoughtful): "Strange indeed. Or perhaps… guided."

Natasha's sharp eyes caught the pattern.

Natasha (to Steve): "This isn't coincidence. KB's pulling strings."

Steve: "Maybe. But if it keeps us together, maybe it's for a reason."

Thor's suspicion softened. He began to see KB not as a rival mocking him, but as a hand weaving fate ,like a mentor guiding him through riddles.

Hydra was not destroyed, but their Mexico operation suffered a crushing blow. The Avengers' interference left their plans in ruins. In the hidden sanctum of the Temple of Chaos, voices hissed with frustration.

Chaos Acolyte: "Hydra fails us again. Their Mexico branch lies in ruins."High Priest of Chaos: "The Avengers grow stronger. KB's influence spreads. We must act. Destroy Mexico, let the world tremble."

Their fury boiled into a plan: annihilation. KB, through his omnipresence, sensed their intent like a storm pressing against the world. His eyes closed, and when he opened them, he spoke in riddles.

Far away, Loki watched from the shadows. He knew nothing of Hydra, nor of the Temple of Chaos. His schemes were his own.

Loki (smirking): "Let Thor remain on Earth. Let him wallow in exile. While he lingers here, I shall be king of Asgard."

He summoned the Destroyer, his voice cold.

 "Go. Burn Mexico. Kill Thor."

KB gathered the Avengers, his tone playful yet grave, like Krishna weaving wisdom into mystery.

"Friends, the winds whisper of storms yet unseen. Mexico is not yet ready to be left behind. Stay a few more days. The soil here hides secrets, and the sky waits to roar."

Tony frowned, arms crossed.

"You're being cryptic again. If you know something, say it."

KB only smiled, his words flowing like riddles.

"To speak plainly is to break the thread. To stay is to weave it. Trust me, and you will see."

Steve studied him, then nodded slowly.

"He's warning us. We stay."

Natasha's eyes narrowed, suspicion lingering, but she said nothing. Fury muttered under his breath.

"I don't like being led blind. But if KB's right, Mexico's about to become ground zero."

Thor listened, his heart heavy. He could not ask KB about the diary, but he could hear the wisdom in his riddles. For the first time, he did not scoff.

"Perhaps… you are not mocking me. Perhaps you are showing me the path."

....

The Avengers lingered in Mexico, uneasy but obedient to KB's riddling counsel. The air was heavy, charged with something unseen. KB sat quietly, his eyes half-closed, as if listening to whispers no one else could hear.

"You said the sky waits to roar. What did you mean?"

KB (smiling faintly): "When thunder hides, lightning waits. When silence lingers, chaos prepares. Trust me, Captain ,the storm is near."

Thor sat with Jane, bruised but thoughtful. She had shown him stories of Captain America ,Steve Rogers ,on the internet.

"He fought not for glory, but for others. Humble, selfless, yet strong."

Thor (quietly, reading): "Steve Rogers… a mortal who carries the weight of gods. Perhaps this is what Father wished me to learn."

For the first time, Thor's arrogance gave way to humility. He began to see KB not as an enemy mocking him, but as a guide shaping his path.

The Destroyer roared, its flames scorching the streets of Mexico. The Avengers led the charge, their movements sharp and coordinated. Civilians panicked, scattering in terror.

KB raised his hand calmly.

 "Alexa, shield the people."

His super A.I. ,Alexa, activated instantly. Invisible barriers shimmered around fleeing civilians, guiding them to safety, protecting them from falling debris and fire.

While the Avengers fought, KB sat back, cross-legged, serene. He lifted a flute to his lips and began to play. The melody was divine, flowing like Krishna's music ,soft, soothing, yet carrying an unearthly resonance.

The panicked hearts of the citizens calmed. Fear melted into quiet courage. Even the Avengers, for a split second, felt their burdens ease. Natasha's eyes widened, Steve's grip on his shield loosened, Tony's HUD flickered with a strange sense of peace.

Steve (whispering, stunned): "That sound… it feels like hope itself."

But the Destroyer advanced again, forcing them back into battle.

Tony (snapping back): "Alright, Zen master, keep playing ,we'll do the punching."

Benjamin, fighting alongside the Avengers, feigned his attacks. He could have ended the battle in one strike, but KB had commanded him to remain low-key. His mouth twitched as he glanced at KB, sitting relaxed, flute in hand, as if enjoying the show.

Telepathically, Benjamin complained:

"You should be fighting like a warrior, not sitting there like an audience."

KB chuckled softly, his tone teasing.

"Why bother, when I have a brother like you? You strike, I play. Balance, my friend."

Benjamin pressed further, his frustration clear.

"This isn't balance. You're holding back."

KB's playful tone shifted, becoming solemn though still tinged with mischief.

"I cannot act now. OBA's avatar watches this scene with omnipresence. He possesses ninety percent of OBA's battle power. If he senses the original trajectory of destiny has been altered, he may act personally. That would unravel everything."

Benjamin's eyes narrowed, loosing another arrow at the Destroyer.

"So you sit back, playing music, while we fight?"

"I act in ways that do not disturb the weave of karma, past, future, and present. To fight directly now would break the thread. This ,guiding, soothing, protecting—is the best path. It harms no one, yet shapes everything."

Benjamin exhaled sharply, half in annoyance, half in reluctant respect.

 "…You always have an answer."

KB's flute played on, his eyes gleaming with serene mischief.

"And you, my brother, always have the strength. Together, we are complete."

As the Avengers fought valiantly, shielding civilians while striking at the Destroyer, Thor stood back for a moment, watching. He saw Steve Rogers rallying frightened citizens, Natasha pulling children to safety between shots, Hawkeye covering escape routes, Tony blasting debris away from panicked crowds.

Thor's heart clenched.

Thor (thinking): "This… this is what I lack. Not strength, not glory, but the will to protect. They fight not for themselves, but for others."

Across the battlefield, KB's flute played softly, and he smiled knowingly. He had read Thor's thought.

KB (to himself, serene): "At last, he sees where he was wrong."

Thor, now mortal, stepped forward. Without giving the Avengers time to react, he walked directly into the Destroyer's path.

Steve (shouting): "Thor, wait!"

Tony (alarmed): "Are you insane?!"

Natasha (gritting her teeth): "Stop him!"

Hawkeye (drawing his bow): "He's going to get himself killed!"

Benjamin (telepathically to KB, frustrated): "Why aren't you stopping him?"

But Thor was already there, standing before the towering machine. He looked toward Loki, who watched from afar.

Thor (gently, with humility): "Brother… I may have wronged you. But these mortals are innocent. Spare them."

For a heartbeat, he thought Loki might relent. But the Destroyer's chest flared, and it struck him down mercilessly.

Thor was hurled across the plaza, beaten so badly that his life or death was uncertain.

Steve (grimly, rushing forward): "Thor!"

Tony (furious): "Damn it, he's down!"

Natasha (softly, shaken): "He… he sacrificed himself."

Hawkeye (jaw tight): "He didn't even fight back."

Benjamin (telepathically to KB, bitter): "This is madness. He's dying."

Jane ran to Thor's side, tears streaming. She knelt beside him, shaking him desperately.

"Thor! Wake up! Please, don't leave me!"

As Thor lay broken, the ground trembled. Mjolnir, silent until now, began to glow. It rose, shimmering with divine light, and flew into Thor's hand.

The skies darkened, thunder roared, lightning split the heavens. Thor's mortal shell was gone ,he stood transformed once more, the God of Thunder reborn.

Thor (voice booming, renewed): "I am Thor, son of Odin!"

Mjolnir crackled with lightning as he struck the Destroyer. The machine convulsed, its flames extinguished, until it collapsed in ruin.

The Avengers stood frozen, stunned by what they had just witnessed.

Steve (softly, with awe): "He… he gave himself up. And the hammer chose him again. That's true courage."

Tony (half-smirking, half-serious): "Okay, I'll admit it. That was… epic. Guy goes down like a mortal, comes back with lightning. Not bad, Goldilocks."

Natasha (quiet, thoughtful): "He was willing to die for innocents. That's what makes him worthy."

Hawkeye (exhaling, shaking his head): "I thought he was finished. Guess gods don't stay down easy."

Benjamin, who had feigned his strength throughout, clenched his jaw, his eyes narrowing as he looked at KB.

Benjamin (telepathically to KB, grudgingly): "So this was the plan all along. Let him fall, then rise."

KB's flute lowered, his smile serene, eyes gleaming with mischief.

KB (telepathically, calm): "Destiny needed him to see. And now he has."

Jane rushed to Thor's side, tears streaming, her voice trembling.

 "Thor… you're back. I thought I lost you."

Thor placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, his voice steady, humbled.

"I was lost, Jane. But now… now I am found."

Thor turned to Steve and KB, his expression solemn yet grateful.

"Captain Rogers… KB… it was you who showed me what true power is. Not in arrogance, not in strength, but in heart. I thank you."

Steve nodded, his voice calm but proud.

"You found it yourself, Thor. We just reminded you."

KB smiled faintly, like Krishna after a dance of destiny.

"At last, my friend. You begin to see."

High above mortal sight, beyond realms of gods and men, OBA's avatar lingered. His presence was not physical ,it was omnipresence, woven into every breath of the battlefield. He did not move, yet he was everywhere. His gaze pierced through time, past and future, karma and consequence.

He possessed ninety percent of OBA's battle power, a force so vast that even gods trembled at its weight. His mere awareness was enough to bend destiny.

OBA's Avatar (to himself, resonant and calm): "The threads of fate must remain unbroken. If the boy KB acts beyond his place, the weave will tear. I watch, I wait. The trajectory must unfold as it was written."

From his omnipresence, OBA's avatar observed Thor's fall, Jane's desperate plea, and Mjolnir's awakening. He did not intervene.

OBA's Avatar (to himself, resonant): "Yes… the mortal must fall before he rises. The hammer must reject before it accepts. Only then is he worthy. The boy KB understands. He plays his flute, not his blade, because he knows I am watching."

The avatar's gaze lingered on KB, amused yet approving.

OBA's Avatar (to himself): "He is mischievous, like Krishna, but wise enough to remain indirect. Good. The weave holds."

As Thor rose, transformed into the God of Thunder, lightning splitting the skies, OBA's avatar remained silent. He did not move, but his omnipresence rippled with satisfaction.

OBA's Avatar (to himself): "The trajectory remains intact. Thor has learned humility. The mortals have seen courage. KB has played his part without breaking the weave. Destiny flows as it should."
