Chapter 660: Scumbag Cheng's Mentality Collapses, and Mr. Shen Intercepts Him!

Pursuing He Yiyi?

Ren Zhacheng's expression became hesitant.

If it had been a day earlier, upon hearing He Yiyi's words, he would have been overjoyed.

He Yiyi actually gave him the chance to officially pursue her; he would have woken up laughing even in his dreams.

But now, after being hit by a large truck last night, narrowly escaping death, and gaining the Goddess Future Diary System from that misfortune, Ren Zhacheng felt he had awakened.

He wouldn't be a lickspittle anymore; he wanted to be a fierce wolf, a predator, a man who took what he wanted. His entire worldview had been shattered and reforged in the crucible of that near-death experience. The System wasn't just a tool; it was a mandate. A declaration from the heavens that his days of groveling were over.

Before he possessed the Goddess Future Diary System, he was a pathetic sycophant, orbiting He Yiyi like a desperate moon. After receiving this heaven-sent cheat, if he was still a sycophant, what was the point? Wouldn't that make this divine gift utterly useless? A cosmic joke played at his expense?

An unwillingness, fierce and defiant, coiled in his gut. Ren Zhacheng looked He Yiyi in the eye, a smirk he'd practiced in the mirror tugging at his lips. This was his first step on the path of the conqueror.

"Alright, He Yiyi," he said, his voice a fraction deeper than usual. "I can pursue you. But a little show of good faith is in order. Let me hold your hand. That's not too much to ask, right?"

He had fantasized about this for months. He'd imagined the feel of her delicate, fair hands in his own, the softness of her skin, the warmth. It was a simple touch, but to him, it was a symbol of possession, the first milestone in his grand conquest.

He Yiyi froze, her expression flickering. A wave of revulsion washed over her as she stared at the detestable man before her. His sudden confidence was off-putting, almost greasy. She wanted to slap his hand away, to tell him to get lost, but the memory of the diary entry—the one that prophesied her family's ruin—held her in place. Ren Zhacheng's expectant, slightly impatient look made a knot of anxiety tighten in her stomach. She needed him. She hated that she needed him.

Seeing her hesitation, Ren Zhacheng's eyes lit up with predatory glee. He interpreted her silence as acquiescence, a woman's classic coy reluctance. 'She's just playing hard to get!' he thought, his ego inflating. He took a step forward, his hand rising, fingers outstretched, about to close around his prize.

But the next moment, his world turned upside down.

Gurgle. GURGLE.

A sound like a blocked drain echoed from deep within him. An intense, violent cramp seized his abdomen, twisting his intestines into a searing knot. It felt less like an upset stomach and more like Sun Wukong himself was inside his belly, swinging the Dinghai Divine Needle and wreaking absolute havoc on the Heavenly Palace of his digestive tract. A cold sweat beaded on his forehead, his face draining of all color in an instant. The charming smirk evaporated, replaced by a mask of pure agony and disbelief.

"I… I'm going to the restroom!" was all Ren Zhacheng could force out through clenched teeth. He abandoned his seduction attempt without a second thought, clutching his stomach as if trying to hold his organs in place, and bolted toward the bathroom with the desperation of a condemned man.

Standing invisibly a few feet away, a ghost in the mundane world, Shen Anyu watched Ren Zhacheng's panicked retreat. A flicker of amusement danced in his eyes, cool and detached. He had a hundred ways, a thousand methods, to ensure Ren Zhacheng never laid a finger on the women he'd set his sights on. Sometimes, the most elegant solution was also the simplest. A microscopic, tasteless, and odorless compound, delivered via a subtle manipulation of air currents, was all it took. A casual dose of a cultivator's specialized laxative would make Ren Zhacheng purge his bowels until his legs turned to jelly.

When Ren Zhacheng finally staggered back from the restroom, pale and trembling, he saw that He Yiyi had already vanished from the corner. She was back at her workstation, engrossed in her computer as if nothing had happened. A surge of impotent fury coursed through him.

"Damn it!" he hissed under his breath, his fist clenching. "My stomach had to act up at that exact moment!"

He had been so close! He'd seen the hesitation in her eyes soften, seen her resolve waver. He was certain that even if a kiss or a confession was out of the question, holding her hand was in the bag. And then, betrayal from his own body.

Gurgle, gurgle.

The monstrous churning began anew. Ren Zhacheng's expression shifted from anger to sheer horror. The next wave of cramps hit him like a physical blow, doubling him over. He clutched his stomach again, his face a mask of misery, and made another mad dash for the restroom.

Throughout the entire morning, this humiliating cycle repeated itself. Ren Zhacheng became a permanent fixture in the hallway leading to the men's room. He made the trip seventeen, maybe eighteen times, losing count somewhere around the tenth visit. His body was a wreck. His legs shook uncontrollably, his vision swam, and a profound weakness settled deep in his bones. He felt hollowed out, as if every ounce of strength and fluid had been violently expelled from his system.

'Damn it, I'm practically dehydrated!' he thought, slumping over his desk during a brief respite. His head pounded, and his stomach felt raw and abused. 'Was there something wrong with the barbecue I ate last night? It must have been food poisoning.'

At this point, he had no energy left to even think about He Yiyi. He lay his head on his desk, listless, his grand ambitions of being a playboy drowned in a sea of gastrointestinal distress. His mentality, once soaring on the wings of his new System, was now plummeting toward rock bottom. Why wasn't anything going as planned? He was supposed to have the Goddess Future Diary System! He was supposed to be striding toward the pinnacle of life, conquering beautiful women left and right. Today was meant to be the day he unlocked the first achievement with He Yiyi, a day of immense satisfaction.

Instead, he hadn't even managed to touch her hand. He'd spent the morning in a disgusting toilet stall, his body betraying him in the most degrading way possible.

'No. I can't let it end like this,' Ren Zhacheng thought, his jaw clenched with a feverish determination. 'I've been miserable all day. I have to hold He Yiyi's hand. I have to!'

He hardened his resolve, fueled by sheer spite. During the lunch break, he saw his chance. He watched as He Yiyi got up with a female colleague and headed toward the office pantry. Ignoring the tremors in his legs, he immediately followed. He waited, lurking like a predator, until her colleague left and she was alone for a fleeting moment. This was it.

He moved in, cornering her against a wall in a classic 'kabedon' move, trapping her with his arms. He summoned the last of his strength to plaster a charmingly evil smile on his face. He was certain that a woman like He Yiyi, physically pinned and overwhelmed by his masculine presence, would be too flustered and intimidated to cry out for help.

But the woman in front of him didn't look flustered at all. In the next instant, she moved with shocking speed, countering his move by slamming him against the wall. Before he could even process the reversal, a knee shot upward with brutal force.

"Ah!"

A strangled scream ripped from Ren Zhacheng's throat. A cataclysm of agony erupted in his groin, so intense that his eyeballs felt like they were about to pop out of their sockets. The world dissolved into a blinding white haze of pain. The single knee strike from the woman before him nearly made him lose his breath, his soul, and his future as a man.

'How… how can He Yiyi be so strong?!' Ren Zhacheng cried internally, his body sliding down the wall in a crumpled heap.

"Ren Zhacheng, what are you doing?"

A familiar voice cut through his pain-fogged mind. He looked up, his vision swimming, to see the real He Yiyi standing a few feet away, holding a cup of black tea. Her face was a mask of utter confusion as she stared at the scene: Ren Zhacheng cornering Liu Jie, the well-known tomboy and fitness fanatic from the finance department.

"Ren Zhacheng, you've got some nerve, daring to pin me against the wall," Liu Jie said, cracking her knuckles. She flexed a bicep that was thicker than his wrist and gave him a hearty, terrifying smile. "If you were interested in me, you should've just said so. I like a man who's direct."

Ren Zhacheng was completely and utterly dumbfounded. His mind short-circuited. No, this was impossible. He was certain he had cornered He Yiyi. How did it become Liu Jie? When did they switch? Was he seeing things? Was he going insane?

[Ding! The Son of Destiny Ren Zhacheng is doubting his life. Plundering +9,999 Destiny Points!]

'Your vision will always deceive you,' Shen Anyu thought, an imperceptible smile touching his lips. He watched the pathetic scene unfold from his unseen vantage point. With the Super Divine Skill, Six Senses Control, any being with a weaker spiritual power than him was nothing more than a puppet. Their sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and even their heart's sense were all clay in his hands.

Making Ren Zhacheng mistake one person for another was trivial. If he were so inclined, he could make the man spend a night of passionate lovemaking with a pig, and Ren Zhacheng would go to his grave believing he had spent a wonderful night with the world's greatest beauty.

'Ren Zhacheng currently poses no threat,' Shen Anyu concluded. 'He's just an ant with a shiny new toy. Once I accumulate twenty million Destiny Points, I'll devour the Goddess Future Diary System he carries. It's a very useful tool—obtaining the Goddess Diary, predicting the future… a divine artifact for capturing hearts.'

His plans were set. 'As for He Yiyi, I'll go after her after work. For now, I'll pay a visit to the beautiful CEO, Ling Qingcheng, and then head home for dinner.'

After leaving a few nanometer monitoring robots on both Ren Zhacheng and He Yiyi—a simple, invisible precaution—Shen Anyu leisurely walked towards the CEO's office on the top floor of the Ling Group building.

With his divine-level invisibility, even a cultivator one full realm higher than him would struggle to detect his presence. What chance did these ordinary mortals have? In fact, if not for the need to monitor his targets, he wouldn't even need invisibility. He could use Six Senses Control to simply walk past everyone, making their minds edit him out of their perception. It was, for all intents and purposes, another form of being unseen.

Just as the female assistant was delivering a lunch tray, Shen Anyu slipped past her, stepping into the CEO's office as effortlessly as a breeze through an open window.

The office was spacious, a proof of the Ling Group's power. It was furnished with an understated luxury, and the air was filled with the calming, expensive scent of sandalwood, subtly mixed with the faint, orchid-like fragrance of a woman. The assistant placed the lunch on the desk, bowed silently, and then quietly exited, carefully closing the heavy office door behind her.

Alone in the vast room, Ling Qingcheng was still completely engrossed in her work, oblivious to the fact that it was lunchtime and that she was no longer alone.

'She's quite a workaholic,' Shen Anyu mused, his gaze drifting from the simple, untouched lunch to the woman buried in a mountain of documents.

He saw that Ling Qingcheng's dark, beautiful hair was not draped over her shoulders as it usually was. It was tied up in a neat, professional bun, a style that highlighted the meticulous and delicate contours of her face. Her expression was serious, focused, yet shadowed by a hint of weariness. A deep fatigue was etched into the fine lines around her eyes.

As if encountering a particularly thorny problem, Ling Qingcheng finally looked up from her papers. Her slender, pale fingers rose to massage her temples, her delicate brows knitting together in a troubled frown. In the climate-controlled office, she had taken off her formal suit jacket, leaving her in a crisp, white button-down shirt. The fabric was pulled taut across her chest, straining at the buttons, making one worry they might pop off from the pressure.

Ding-a-ling. Just then, the phone on her desk rang, cutting through the silence.

Seeing the caller ID flash on the screen, Ling Qingcheng's frown deepened into a scowl. She murmured to herself, her voice laced with annoyance and a thread of helplessness.

"It's that Yu Family Second Young Master again… the one I can't afford to offend."

Shen Anyu's gaze swept over to the phone screen, and his eyes narrowed dangerously.

Yu Guanxiong. Second Young Master Yu. The Yu Family's Second Young Master?

He knew that name. That was the infamous Er Shao of Yanxia's powerful Yu Clan.

'Speaking of which,' Shen Anyu thought, a cold, sharp smile spreading across his face. 'There's still a grudge I haven't settled with the Yu Family.'
