" I wonder, why would you ask that?" Ms. Lee asked back, the epitome of politeness.
"Because you guys are resembling the hamsters that run on wheels, as if your life depends on it. To be honest, it isn't, your life doesn't depend on this pile of files. And it's okay to take breaks.
Remember, we don't do stress work in The V International. The focus is more on being productive than being stressed. " Vir stated the important issue.
"It's okay to ask for help, if you need it. No need to be a super woman. Let's leave that job to DC comics." Vir added, making Ms. Lee finally removed her specs and placed them on the desk.
Well, they always have the work, but it's always manageable. So, they never think much about it. But are they overworking? Are they defying the rules of The V international, which clearly states 'no overworking'?
"All of this sweet talk, for a mere food that you can't even grab on your own from the cafeteria?" Sophia asked, releasing a deep breath and staring dead in the eyes of her boss.
"_" Vir
"_" Ms. Lee
"Well, what if it is? Then, will you go with me now?" Vir asked expectantly.
"_" Sophia
"_" Ms. Lee.
"You are impossible." Sophia finally uttered, while logging off her computer.
"And yet you are joining me." Vir replied back as he watched her arranging the things.
"Don't test your luck, Mr. Singhania." Ms. Lee warned him lowkey, while Vir nodded, as if he also realised that maybe he had gone too far.
Only if he had learned how to babysit. Things might go little smoothly between him and Sophia. But alas, this girl, instead of going to a college, instead of living a carefree life, here she is, buried beneath the pile of files.
Skipping on her meals and neglecting herself. Fine, she is young, so her immune system can take it all, but what about when she will grow old, will her immune system still be able to take it all.
No, it will collapse and she will suffer. And then who will be there to take care of her, given her glib tongue, no one. Literally no one. This girl has an innate talent of pissing people off. Luckily, he found her.
He will not let her abuse herself. At least not like this. She may have to turn into an adult due to the circumstances, but she is still a kid, in age. He won't let the kid in her suffer. Not because of this adult Sophia, who believes in doing all the job, including his, if he is not paying attention to it.
If she can't live carefree, then at least she will experience life and its beautiful luxuries. She will enjoy everything the world has to offer. When she grows old and grey, he will make sure that she would have a vault of unlimited stories to share with her grandchildren.
The worst part is already over. She has left The Rajputs. Now, he just has to focus on making her get used to the life of comfort and luxuries. Either one way or the other.
"Well, I will inform the HR, so that they can begin the hiring and recruiting of new staff. I want you two to focus on me, only me. Let the staff of one hundred thousand handle all the paperworks for you." Vir declared.
"That's exactly what they do. It's our job to ensure that every file should be up to the mark, before reaching you." Ms. Lee explained.
After all, the very files piling on their desk have been through thousands of hands, hundreds of corrections, before reaching their desks.
All that Ms. Lee and Sophia's job is to pass the final check, before placing it on Vir's desk. Now, mostly it's manageable. Because they prefer doing their work on a daily basis. But yesterday, their boss took them shopping. So, the work piled up.
All the right things are at the right place at the right time is what Ms. Lee and Sophia look after.
"Then, let the HR hire people to aid you." Vir insisted.
"Even then, Ms. Lee would make sure that every file has been scanned by her precious eyes, before reaching you." Sophia couldn't help but comment.
Ms. Lee's sense of justice, the ethics, the working discipline is just way too admirable.
"Well, that's because, the company treats us like we are the earth, the stars shine on, during nights. So, it's natural to give my best." Ms. Lee explained her sense of loyalty, which is deeply rooted.
"I appreciate it." Vir chimed with a fond smile. After all, you can give people thousands of things and they will still complain. It's really hard and rare to find people who choose loyalty.
" But, it's unacceptable in The V International." Vir added, making Ms.Lee sigh and finally she too logged off from her laptop.
Dammit, people appreciate hard-working, overtime working staff, but then there is Vir. The rebel of corporate rules.
"Let's go." Ms. Lee offered, to which the duo nodded.

In a VIP Suite;
" Here's the file that explains it all. If you have any queries please feel free to ask." Sophia ended her presentation smoothly, while staring at the people from Shrikant & Co. Vir was grim as he was reading the room, the entire time.
Though, he specifically tried to avoid making eye-contact with the presenter; Sophia.
"Ah! Miss. Rajput, can you please explain why it would take six months for the delivery?" Mr. Chavan, the deputy manager of Shrikant& co. asked.
" Pardon me!" Sophia asked in confusion.
" As you know, time matters more than anything for us businessmen, a lot. Six months is a big deal." Mr. Chavan elaborates further.
" That's because we believe in quality. Just because it's the cardboard delivery, that doesn't mean we can rush things up. Especially when the tender is for five hundred million of cardboards." Sophia explained while staring at Mr. Chavan.
