Atop the rooftop of the Council hall within the royal palace, there was a round golden disk; 'The moon's grace'. A man in grey robes silently stood before the golden disk with his left hand behind his back and his right holding on to a forging hammer. He stood silently watching the golden chasm begin to glow above Alvea. It was time.
He smashed at the disk with the hammer, the grating sound reaching every corner of the capital city.
From every nook and Cranny of the city, From Commoners to nobles. They marched towards the gates of the Royal palace. The moon's grace had been rung, a groundbreaking announcement was to be passed.
The palace was in a mess. The Queen was having a mental break down. Her energy flared every now and then She was all alone within this hostile walls. Betrayed by family and losing her husband, son and daughter. As if the gods were against her family, the grace of the moon was rung early this morning. Her maids shakily helped her dress, tears falling from their eyes.
The Queen was dressed in regal green and gold garments. Her crown discarded at a corner of the room. She walked bare faced to the palace hall. She could guess what was to happen.
Alexander stood before the body length mirror in his chambers admiring the golden garments that adorned his body. Today, he took the throne.
The council members all sat silently on their seats. The King was gone, but their children were nowhere to be seen. Those that pushed the King out suddenly felt a deep sense of regret. They had sent their King to his death without a single thought now that they thought about it. How could it ever be that simple.
As the Queen walked into their silent hall, the officials stood up and bowed to greet their Queen. The guilty dared not lift their heads.
The Queen sat at the seat furthest from the throne shocking the officials. Her brother didn't flinch, he actually smiled lightly and sighed in relief. He was afraid he would have to be the one to explain the situation to her.
Underneath the surface, In an office made of grey stones and covered by damp moss. Raven And Alzar were both strapped to chairs. Alzar was wide awake but still in shock. Her uncle had betrayed the crown. He had betrayed Alvea. He had caused her father's death and her brother's kidnapping.
Raven's eyes were still tightly shut, her breathing shallow and labored.
Steps echoed through the wet walls of the office. Alzar closed her eyes in accordance feigning unconsciousness.
"These little ladies are still asleep..., How pathetic and here i thought they could pose an actual threat..!"
"Do not underestimate desperate elves, Falcon. Our Boss just needs to seat on the throne and we will never have to beg for scraps again!"
"Zer, This little princess is indeed a great beauty..." His fingers traced the contours of Alzar's face. She didn't move an inch but her blood was boiling in rage.
'He dared to touch me..!'
"Do you think the Boss would grant her to me after he takes the throne...?"
"She might be useless but she is royal blood. He might cut off your fingers if he knew you touched her."
The one called Falcon withdrew his fingers and swallowed hard. He sighed in exasperation and tsked before walking out of the space. The other following right after.
Alzar opened her eyes, gritting her teeth. Sparks and venom laced the corners of her eyes. She really needed to kill someone to vent.
She turned her face to Raven's delicate face. Sweat was pouring down from her forehead. It was obvious she wasn't okay.
"Raven..... Raven..."
She remained silent, her eyes tightly shut.
Alzar struggled slightly trying to break the bindings on her hands. She closed her eyes a little and controlled her breathing. Green energy shimmered around her forming a wheel of jagged thorns. Her binding s fell to the floor as thin strips of white rope. It was this easy to come loose. The whole underground passageway must be under high level security.
She walked slowly to Raven's side and undid her binds. She raised her up and into her arms and walked to the far corners of the office. She shook the sleeping lady but there was still no obvious response. It looked like she was battling something deep in her consciousness.
In Raven's subconscious, A lonely glass fragment hovered in her dark and empty sea of consciousness. The Fragment showed a little baby with a pendant that read Raven around her neck. She was wrapped in white soft silk and cradled in a gold threaded basket. The sky was dark and gloomy and rain poured down from the skies.
She was all alone and crying in the rain.
'Who am i..?'
A ripple spread from the depths of her consciousness, the fragment vibrated violently like something was trying to shatter it. The Fragment began to fly around in the empty space like it was looking for its companions.
After flying around at high speed through the empty space it finally settled above a dark corner of the already dark space. Then a light thump echoed through the space. Red light swept through the emptiness with the fragment as the center. Low thumps were heard from the dreary sea below. The thumps grew louder and their frequency doubled. Red spots filled everywhere the eyes could see.
Then a glass fragment flew out of the sea, then another, and another, and thousands flew out of the sea glowing with bright red light. They flew about like a fierce storm sweeping around the empty space.
After what seemed like forever, the pain subsided and the fragments settled. They stuck to each other slowly stitching their cracks and mending their separation forming a gigantic glass screen that filled the space.
On the screen, a chamber of golden drapery and velvet cushions filled the view. A cradle was set at the center of the chamber and a gorgeous woman stood beside it, her tears staining the babies face.
"My lovely darling. Mother is weak. She cannot keep you safe....!"
A man dressed in royal regalia held firmly unto the woman's shoulders and comforted her slowly while suppressing his own tears.
The scene changed.
The sky was dark and gloomy and the baby was wrapped in silk and put into a gold threaded basket.
The two who seemed to be her parents set her before a dark towering gate. Her mother placed a pendant with the name Raven engraved on it and then kissed her lightly on the forehead.
"You will find your way back home....!"
Then they turned around and walked into a glowing portal.
The scene changed again and she was in the arms of a gorgeous man. He held her tight and smiled ever so sweetly.
"Your name is Raven Willows...!"
The man took her around the mansion introducing her to everyone he saw with a warm smile on his face.
The scene kept changing, from her infancy to her teenage hood. The man became her father; Damian Willows.
She had family and she had someone in her heart waiting for her to return. She had to go back to her family.
She remembered the look in his eyes as he watched her fall through a crack in the ground. The despair in his gaze. He probably blamed himself for coming so late.
She remembered her father, he must've been torn apart from the inside out wishing he could crawl through to find her but he also couldn't abandon the people she had fought to protect.
She remembered her uncle, her aunt, her cousin. All those people were waiting for her to go back.
