Chapter 163 - Chapter 164 Is it MAX-TAC?

"Is it MAX-TAC?"

The Scavengers had never seen anything like it, so they exclaimed in surprise while firing.

And then, V, who moved freely through the hail of bullets, made them even more horrified.

The dull tearing sound of the machine gun rang out, and the debris and flames on the ground swayed precariously under the brutal hail of bullets, but this terrifying scene could not stop V's advance.

She was like someone charging through the rain, invisible bullets avoiding her, not even a spark scraping against her heavy armor.

"You motherf***ers, shoot straight!"

The Scavengers initially thought they weren't aiming properly, but after they deliberately aimed and the result was the same, they realized that the opponent was intentionally dodging their hail of bullets.

Dodging bullets?

They thought they were crazy, but the elegant figure in front of them, untouched by a single bullet, was undoubtedly shattering their worldview.

And amidst their surprise, V raised her hand and fired.

In the HUD, the remaining rifle ammunition was displayed on the sidebar, and as V fired, the number steadily decreased.

With the armor, there was basically no recoil to speak of. V simply aimed, then shot, and with the crisp sound of spent casings ejecting, bullets flew towards the enemies.

Four or five Scavengers fell as blood bloomed on their chests. V's every bullet was precise and fast, eliminating several firing points in the most time- and cost-efficient way.

The ferocious machine gun immediately fell silent. V maintained fire suppression, forcing the Scavengers who wanted to grab the machine gun to hesitate.

"Quickly, follow up! This is our chance!"

Jackie was undoubtedly an excellent combat commander. Seeing an opportunity, he directly led his squad in an armed charge.

And all of this was thanks to the most special combat unit, V, who was already a super soldier.

V and the squad rushed into the wide entrance. The Scavengers stationed there were either eliminated or had fled. They had clearly broken through the enemy's position.

"Stay alert, brothers!"

Jackie waved his hand, telling the Honeycomb Mercenaries to be vigilant about the depths of the pipe, and he couldn't help but exclaim as he looked at the discarded ammunition and weapons scattered on the ground.

"Luckily, we acted first when they were new here. Otherwise, with this kind of firepower, they would have caused a lot of trouble."

Looking at the old machine gun mounted on sandbags, its barrel still smoking, Jackie sighed.

"Yeah, these guys seem to have prepared quite a bit."

V also agreed, her voice muffled and electronic from inside her helmet.

"We must go further inside; there must be more people hiding in there. We must eliminate all of them."

V looked into the dark depths, her eyes vigilant.

People who live on the streets understand and are good at rooting out evil, after all, too many people have fallen because of it.

"Alright, I'll take the men..."

"Wait a minute."

Jackie was cut off by V before he could finish. V vigilantly watched the red dot flashing on her virtual radar. If she was right, it should be deep in the dark passage ahead.

"No enemy activity at four o'clock."

"I bet they all ran away."

Ahead, two vigilant Honeycomb Mercenaries were still guessing whether the enemies had simply fled, but then they heard rapid, heavy footsteps behind them.

It was V.

In their confused and bewildered gaze, V picked them up like chickens and tossed them aside.

The suddenness and speed of her actions stunned Jackie and the others for a moment; they didn't know what V was up to.

Until the next second, a sound like an exploding empty can rang out, accompanied by V's shout.

"Get down!"

A shell with a thick black smoke trail whistled towards them, making everyone's eyes freeze for a moment.

They couldn't believe they were seeing such heavy weaponry on the street, and what was even more alarming was that they clearly saw V blocking the shell's trajectory.

"V!"

Jackie reached out and cried out, but it was too late.

The image of the incoming shell reflected on V's faceplate, and beneath it were V's usual cold blue eyes.

It wasn't that she couldn't dodge, but that there was no need to dodge.

The next second, the shell came with thick smoke, and everyone seemed to smell the sulfur of gunpowder, but V, in the fraction of a second it took for the shell to arrive, stepped back, braced her feet on the ground, and held her hands in front of her.

Then came a thunderous boom.

The powerful indoor explosion shook down three layers of dust from the ceiling. The Honeycomb Mercenaries were scattered, falling into the broken cover, the huge blast making their hearts and eardrums tremble painfully, and they could feel fine stones and thick dust raining down on their backs.

This left them no time to look up and see the explosion that erupted in a massive ball of fire and dust, nor could they discern how V, who had directly blocked the shell and taken the full impact, was faring.

It wasn't until the dust settled, their ears still ringing, and even their sense of direction seemed to be confused, that many who tried to get up stumbled and fell to the ground, covering themselves in dust.

"Damn it, *cough, cough*, V, where the hell are you?"

Jackie, covered in dust, struggled to his feet, his first glance going to where V had been.

And when he saw the situation there, even the battle-hardened Jackie couldn't help but widen his eyes.

"Holy crap!"

Very clearly and concisely, Jackie expressed his surprise.
