Hey everyone, it's been a while. Hope everyone's okay. I'm, uh, you know, been busy with life, things been going on. College is going not the best, but, you know, I'm trying. Kind of sucks, but what can you do? You know, having some health issues and medication's been going crazy and whatnot. You know, life being life. But enough about me, about the story. So, essentially, I have decided to do an idea I have about basically changing things think about it as a sort of retcon but either way things are going to change big time.
This isn't really a reboot, as it is a continuation. But, um, think of it like how DC or Marvel resets its universe every couple of years, where it's like, you know, you have a crisis event in DC, or how Secret Wars kind of did that in Marvel. Essentially, I'm gonna have something happen, and then the universe will go to, like, a new standard. And while that's going on, we'll have an arc where maybe we put Kai in, like, a different world or something, while the mainline universe is going under some repairs, and, you know, I'm working out some details. So he'll be in, like, I don't know, JJK or Hunter Hunter or something. I forget which one I picked. I think I picked One Piece, actually. So yeah, he'll be in One Piece while that's going on. And then once I have everything figured out, he'll come back, and that'll be solved. So yeah.
So, what I had originally planned for this arc is kind of getting scrapped. But once he comes back to this— well, I guess Heroverse is kind of the name of the fic, so I guess I'll call it that. Once he comes back to the Heroverse, I'm gonna kind of do the arc again, only better and with some changes. To be honest, my main inspiration for this arc was the No Man's Land comics, and I'm still all for that because I think it would make a very interesting story. But, I mean, sooner or later we gotta say goodbye to Gotham City, you know what I mean? It would be boring if we stay here for the whole story. Plus, I don't like have an end in mind for, like, how the story's gonna go, or, like, things like I did set a year that he was in, you know, things like that that need to be fixed. I'm honestly thinking when he comes back, I'll have the year change to be maybe, like, either 2020 or maybe, like, 2010, right? Just 'cause I want an even starting year, and 2000 is, like, a little too far back, I feel like, considering as of writing this it's, like, 2026, about to be 2027. But it's also, like, it's near enough that I recall what those years are obviously like. I was born in, like, early 2000s, mid-2000s. So, you know, if we go all the way back to the '90s, I'm just not gonna have an accurate scope of things because I wasn't born then yet. So I'd like to keep it, like, in some years that I lived through and was old enough to remember what was going on at the time, you know. But at the same time, like certain world events, like, I don't know, if I do go back to, like, 2000, I can have him stop certain events, like, I don't know, 9/11 or something. But at the same time, I'm like, that's not really his responsibility. But, like, if I was a superhero, that's what I would do: just, like, at the very least stop major things that I remember was gonna happen. But I think I'll put him either in 2010 or 2020, just so tech is mostly the same, things are invented that are mostly the same, you know, stuff like that. So yeah, this isn't the end of Heroverse, more as it is a company restructuring, let's call it.
Yeah.
Also, um, as for the worlds involved, the ones I currently had in were obviously Marvel, DC, The Boys, One Punch Man, My Hero Academia, and Invincible, right? And I'm still—I still think that's a great idea, but part of me wants to explore the supernatural side of things a bit more, which they do have, you know? And I did bring up, like, maybe replacing certain versions of characters with, like, other franchise versions, like historical figures with their fake versions, or deities with, like Ragnarök versions. And that still feels like a good idea to me, but at the same time, part of me was thinking that, like, it might be too much. And so I thought maybe I'd save that for a separate fanfic that I want to write in the future.
I basically called that idea, like, DXD: Newborn Hero. I got as far into it as, like, making a cover for it, but I didn't have a solid idea for, like, the protagonist. I was thinking maybe I just reuse this one or something. But essentially, I always get more ideas than I actually have the practical time and ability to make them.
Like, I have dozens of fanfic ideas that I know I'll probably never write, which kind of sucks. And, like, part of me wants to release them to the public so that someone else can do it, at the very least I can enjoy reading it. But, like, another part of me is selfish and is like, no, I want to do it myself and have my own vision be put out there. And I don't know, maybe that's just a bad quality I have. Like, I don't know. If you can't tell, the antidepressants are not hitting like they're supposed to. But that's, like I said, that's a health thing. Either/or, I definitely don't want to abandon this story because it has so much potential, and I've had so much fun writing it. But I feel that far too often I get stuck.
Like I'll get a writer's block after, like, a certain couple of chapters, and then I'll be like, okay, do I really want to keep going with the story, or do I want to cancel it and do something else? And do I want to have, like— do I want to go make something else, even though I haven't finished this? And maybe that's just a me having ADHD thing, or I don't know. But yeah, either way, I don't plan on canceling this anytime soon still. But like I said, major restructuring at the very least.
And maybe I'll add in some new worlds.
After all, I never said that it was going to be limited to this. Oh, I forgot to mention Ben 10 was going to be in it too. Essentially, the main point of the restructuring is to get Kai to at least 18 years old. I think I'm going to go for 18 specifically just so, because having a child protagonist is fun and all at some points, but in other points it gets in the way of, like, things like relationships and certain things happening, you know. Still undecided if there's going to be, like, R18 scenes.
I suppose there probably should be, but I don't know if that's really the kind of thing I want to do. I've done it before, like one time, and it made me feel weird. I don't know if I liked it or not. I don't think I did.
But at the same time, there are too many bad bitches in the multiverse to skip. You know what I'm saying? There's too many bad bitches in the multiverse to just have one. You know what I mean? Too many attractive people in fiction to settle for just one. So, speaking of relationships, I'm stuck between either A, harem route, or B, like just having him date a few people and not have all of those relationships work out until he finds somebody, you know what I'm saying?
Or maybe do the, hey, I don't do relationships sort of thing, but if you want to fuck, that's cool kind of guy. Because there's all sorts of people in the world who do all sorts of things. So far, at least Kai is straight, but who knows, maybe I'll roll some dice on it. Probably not. That's just a joke more than anything. But yeah, man, I don't know. I don't know. Anyway, hope y'all have been enjoying the story so far, at least what's left of it.
And, you know, drop some reviews, drop some Power Stones, help your boy out, get more people to read the fic. If y'all got any advice, be it grammar, writing, or just, I don't know, trying to put out chapters more frequently, because I see some people who put out a chapter every day, and I'm like, how do you even have the capacity for that? You know what I'm saying?
Like, I can barely pump out a chapter a week sometimes, you know? Which makes me feel kind of sucky. But, like I said, antidepressants not hitting properly, so I'm not gonna focus on it. Yeah. Anyway, bye everyone. Or should I say guys and the one single girl who probably reads the story? Nah, I doubt there's any girls who read this story, but that's besides the point, you know? Anyways, have fun, have a nice day, and yeah.
If it wasn't obvious I just spoke all this out loud and had my phone turn my voice into words so hopefully I'm not rambling too much.
Anyways, here's an awesome picture of a shark and Batman and a laser sword that I found. It's pretty cool.
