Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: A Simp's Dignity

When Milo Sinclair came out from inside, Shea Thorne had already returned to the office. The post on National Medical University's forum had been taken down without a trace.

However, the post had been screenshotted on F University's side and posted on the F University forum. The discussion quickly veered off-topic, with many people criticizing Shea Thorne for being overambitious, and of course, there were also many calling Miles Crawford a "Shane Carter."

— Honestly, does Ariana Thorne have delusions? People already said they're just neighbors, yet she keeps trying to attach herself.

— You don't get it; it's the new-age version of a supportive wife and mother, commonly known as a "little sweet wife," thinking they can win over a man's heart by doing laundry and cooking, not realizing the times have changed long ago.

— It's honestly disappointing for our predecessors, who worked so hard to liberate women, only for Ariana Thorne's mind to regress, making all women look bad.

Shea Thorne agreed with this point; it was indeed "her" embarrassment.

— Just a lovestruck fool, shaming our F University.

— Read more books, it's good for your brain. At F University, she's a laggard but dreams of a top student from National Medical University.

— Come find me then, I'll let you suck up.

These comments made Shea Thorne want to laugh; indeed, different schools have different perspectives. Milo Sinclair was more focused on the students in the video who were indifferent, while in the National Medical University forum, some were discussing what her symptoms were, what caused them, and what treatments could alleviate them.

Of course, some mocked her for being overambitious, but those were drowned out by the medical student discussions.

Plus, F University students really seem clueless; do you even need to ask this?

She's already a sycophant, of course she'd go for a top student, unless she should choose a thug?

Even a sycophant understands to choose superior genes, right?

A sycophant with no ambition isn't a good sweet wife.

Shea Thorne closed her phone just as Milo Sinclair came in. He set aside his earlier seriousness, smiling warmly: "I'm ready, let's go."

"Okay." He didn't mention the video, and Shea Thorne didn't ask.

Both of them were well aware without speaking; she was still attached to Miles Crawford.

She was curious to see how he would react to this current "heartbreaker" Shea Thorne.

Leaving National Medical University, Milo Sinclair took her to a trendy luxury store. Shea Thorne followed him in and was handed over to a shop assistant. When she came out, she was transformed.

Her chestnut-colored wavy hair was styled in a Greek fashion, wearing a princess-style beige cocktail dress, adorned with the brand's latest laurel branch series diamond jewelry, and holding a small clutch with colored diamonds, looking quite valuable.

She was originally beautiful, and with an elegant makeup style, she transcended the usual upper-class socialite, resembling a laurel goddess descended to earth from Greece.

Milo Sinclair, in a black suit, stood with her in front of the display mirror. Even in high heels, she was still shorter than Milo Sinclair.

"My taste is excellent, you're truly beautiful." Milo Sinclair didn't hold back his compliments, bowing to take her hand and gently kissing the back of it like a gentleman.

Ariana Thorne's beauty was never doubted by Shea Thorne, otherwise, someone of Milo Sinclair's caliber wouldn't have been so attentive and quick to show interest after only a few meetings.

Now, he was even gifting her such an expensive outfit, all perks earned by Ariana Thorne's appearance.

"Let's go, I have a surprise for you." Seeing her remain still, Milo Sinclair smiled and took her hand, leading her out. The low-profile car had been swapped for a more ostentatious Ferrari.

The car stopped at the entrance of the National Concert Hall. Milo Sinclair got out first, then came over to open the car door for Shea Thorne. They walked into the concert hall together, alongside other elegantly dressed people who greeted Milo Sinclair and were polite and friendly to Shea Thorne.

They sat in the most prime seats of the concert venue. Shea Thorne was still somewhat oblivious, and Milo Sinclair didn't explain, waiting for her to realize on her own.

When the music started, Shea Thorne finally realized she was listening to an internationally renowned orchestra!

Moreover, the orchestra included her favorite cellist!

Shea Thorne's eyes widened, and throughout the concert, she was fixated on that cellist, her fingers almost unconsciously playing along with the imaginary strings in sync with his music!

She was thrilled.

Milo Sinclair, beside her, saw her excited expression and knew she genuinely loved this surprise. He had heard her play on their first meeting, and it was the kind of passion only a true enthusiast could convey.

His attraction to her began with her appearance, a love at first sight, and was solidified by her talent.

He reached out, gently brushed away the strands of hair on her shoulder, and let his fingers linger on the artery in her neck, feeling the rhythm of her pulse, which she was so absorbed in the music that she completely missed Milo Sinclair's actions.

As the concert ended, she finally emerged from the overwhelming experience, finding that everyone else had already left.

"It's really Apollyon." Shea Thorne murmured to herself; even in her past life, when she reached rare heights domestically, she never had the chance to meet Apollyon face to face.

But today, she had!

At the final piece, he nodded slightly towards her direction and even specifically played her favorite piece, as if it were a musical gift just for her!

"It's a pity that he's rushing to his next destination and couldn't arrange a private meeting with you. All we could do was dedicate a piece for you."

After the concert ended, Milo Sinclair took her hand and led her out. As they got back into the car, Shea Thorne's emotions hadn't settled yet. The driver took them to a private gathering.

When they arrived, someone raised a glass to them.

Shea Thorne followed, playing the role of a very competent companion. While Milo Sinclair spoke, she stood beside him listening, and when others complimented her, she responded with a graceful and elegant smile.

"Vice-Dean Sinclair, it's been a long time." A gentleman and his wife came over to shake hands with Milo Sinclair. Seeing Shea Thorne beside him, the gentleman greeted her directly without asking about her relationship: "Good evening, madam."

Appearing at such a gathering implied a relatively stable relationship, and since Milo Sinclair did not proactively introduce her, it meant the relationship was not yet formalized. However, even if not now, it will be soon.

"Hello." Shea Thorne returned the greeting.

"This is my wife." The gentleman introduced his wife to Milo Sinclair and then introduced Milo Sinclair to his wife: "This is Mr. Sinclair, a professor at National Medical University and the youngest vice-dean in the history of Sinclair Hospital, with which we collaborate."

The lady was very polite, immediately smiling at Shea Thorne: "My husband is often under Mr. Sinclair's care; I apologize for the trouble."

Thanking Milo Sinclair, but bowing towards Shea Thorne, clearly treating her as the future Mrs. Sinclair to curry favor.

Shea Thorne wasn't particularly surprised, glancing at Milo Sinclair, she elegantly replied, "You're too kind."

She was poised and polite, handling the conversation naturally, entirely unlike a college student not yet in the professional world.

This flattery-fueled vanity once again filled Shea Thorne's body. Standing at the center of such an elite gathering, everyone who came to speak, while overtly building rapport with Milo Sinclair, was subtly observing her mood.

If she was intrigued, they would speak more. If not, they'd smartly make their exit.
