...

The meeting between the Norse and Japanese mythologies was soon to begin.

Odin and Azazel, who were to attend the conference, waited at the designated high-class restaurant in Tokyo for the representative of the Japanese pantheon to appear.

The security and protection of the venue had been reassigned from the original plan to Sona and the Sitri peerage.

Kazuki, the rest of the Gremory peerage, plus additional members, Rossweisse, Baraqiel, and Vali's team—eighteen people in all—were to intercept Loki and Fenrir.

They waited on standby around the venue.

"..."

That said, the atmosphere between the two teams was intensely hostile. The cause was common knowledge: Arthur of Vali's team. The four members of Vali's team, however, showed not a hint of remorse, which only irritated Rias further, and instead of a united front, an air of open antagonism hung over them.

"Ugh!" Kazuki sighed at the mood. Deciding to settle some concerns weighing on his mind, he called out to Vali.

"Vali, is she really going to be all right?"

His gaze fell upon the fourth member of Vali's team, who had joined them that evening: a tall, busty beauty with long, curled blonde hair.

"No need to worry. She's dedicated to her work. Right, Coriana?"

When Vali addressed her, the woman—Coriana—glanced at Kazuki and gave a faint smile.

Coriana Andrealphus.

As her name suggested, she was a devil descended from the prestigious House of Andrealphus, one of the 72 Pillars, and had once belonged to the Old Satan Faction of the Khaos Brigade. After the faction's destruction, Vali had apparently scouted her to join the team.

The special ability of the Andrealphus family was teleportation. They could instantly transport troops and supplies to any destination. Vali had recommended her, and she was to take over battlefield teleportation duties in place of the Sitri peerage.

"Yes. I just have to teleport everyone over, right? No problem. Though, Vali, do you really not need me to participate in combat?"

"That's right. It's enough if you simply do your job."

"Okay! Then leave it to big sis!"

Coriana smiled and waved, but there was something in that smile that put one on guard. As expected, she was more than just a pretty face.

...Even so, her outfit was something else. She wore a grey work jumpsuit, but only a single button over her chest was fastened, leaving her deep cleavage and a tantalizingly sexy navel fully exposed, radiating an erotic allure that rivaled even Kuroka's.

Issei had been leering slack-jawed since earlier, and Asia was pinching his backside, though he seemed so enraptured he hadn't even noticed.

If Vali vouched for her, it should be fine. Next…

"Irina."

Kazuki tapped her shoulder from behind.

"Kazu-nii? What's up?"

Irina turned to him with her usual cheerful smile. He brought his lips close to her ear and asked quietly,

"Just wondering if your body's okay. How are you feeling?"

At that, Irina's face turned bright red. She lowered her head and shyly tugged at his sleeve.

"Geez, don't make me remember that before a battle... Kazu-nii, you pervert."

The sight of her flustered like that was insanely cute. But anyway, her body seemed to be fine.

"Sorry… Irina, keep an eye on Yumi and Xenovia for me."

"Kazu-nii... I understand. Leave it to me."

Irina nodded firmly. Kazuki gave her a light pat on the back before walking away.

The next person he approached was Rias.

"How long are you going to sulk, Rias? Calm down already."

"But Kazuki..."

Rias pouted.

"No 'buts.' As the King, if you keep that attitude, there's no way this alliance is going to work, is there?"

"...They were the ones who started it," she muttered, puffing her cheeks and averting her gaze.

Honestly, that expression was adorable too, but this wasn't the time for that.

"What are you going to do if you, the King, stay like this and your servants follow suit? Fenrir is an opponent the Gremory peerage can't handle alone. On top of that, Issei and I are going to be tied up with Loki and won't be available. Are you trying to get your servants killed?"

"Th-That's...!"

Rias was a direct descendant of the deeply affectionate House of Gremory. As such, she detested seeing her servants hurt beyond measure. That was admirable as a master, but at times a flaw as a King.

A King sometimes needed the resolve to sacrifice their servants. Azazel had told her that many times; her inability to be ruthless was Rias's greatest weakness.

It might be harsh, but they were on the verge of a life-or-death battle. If it meant everyone would survive, Kazuki was prepared to become a demon himself.

"...I'm sorry. You're right, Kazuki. To think I'd be like this at a time like this... I'm pathetic."

Rias seemed to understand, though. She placed a hand on her cheek in reflection and let out a sigh.

"It's good that you understand. I want to see everyone again without a single person lost. You feel the same, don't you, Rias?"

"Of course! My servants—no, every single person taking part in this battle—I'll make sure all of them survive!!"

'Yep. Rias is back to her usual self. This should be fine.' He thought.

"All right, that's the spirit. ...Well then, I'll take my position."

"Understood. Kazuki, you be careful too."

After a light kiss with Rias, Kazuki turned on his heel.

"Issei, Vali, let's go."

He called out to the two of them and started walking.

"Achoo!!"

"Oh my, a cold, Issei-kun?"

"The night's gotten pretty chilly, after all."

Vali and Kazuki both ribbed Issei as he sneezed.

"No, that ain't it. That's gotta be... yeah, it's proof that Asia's thinking about me, y'know!"

"Oh, sure. They do say idiots don't catch colds, don't they?"

"The hell did you say?!"

"Haaah."

The three of them were on the rooftop of a high-rise building near the venue. They were on standby there as the anti-Loki strike force.

Which was fine, but ever since they got there, Vali had been teasing Issei for amusement.

Issei, who was quick to heat up, seemed to be Vali's favorite plaything; the two had been repeating this exact routine whenever they had free time while staying at the Gremory estate.

"Tch! Fine. Go ahead and tease all you want while you can."

"Oh? Is that so?"

Vali tilted her head in surprise.

"Yeah. Because right now... you're the one on top. But soon enough, I'm definitely gonna turn the tables on you."
