The soft, boneless hand held his, and this unfamiliar touch made Caleb Sterling pause.
He turned his head, seeing Sierra Summers' eyes brimming with tears, a fragile look.
Sierra Summers: "Were you saying it for me, or for Chloe?"
Sierra Summers' chest heaved slightly, and her grip on his hand tightened. She felt wronged, yet also felt that Caleb Sterling's impatience was justified.
Caleb Sterling glanced down at her hand, gripping two of his fingers tightly, unwilling to let go.
He frowned, "Now that you know the answer, what do you want to do?"
"After knowing the answer…" Sierra Summers gritted her teeth, glaring at him, and coldly snorted, "Tell me, then I'll respond."
Caleb Sterling's eyes darkened, and he pulled her closer, reversing the grip. He was indeed angry, wanting to warn this girl, but as Sierra Summers looked up with a face full of grievance and sadness, his words stuck in his throat.
