Sierra Summers lowered her voice, without a hint of grievance.
As soon as Caleb Sterling heard this, he realized he misunderstood. Sure enough, Sierra Summers said, "I was just exaggerating a little. I didn't actually cry until I went blind, but it was very upsetting."
"I was quite surprised when you called." Sierra Summers continued.
Caleb Sterling suddenly couldn't find the words to say. Sitting on the chair, there was plenty of work at the company, yet here he was, having this unnecessary call with Sierra Summers.
He wanted to hang up.
But Sierra Summers continued to speak.
"How do you want to handle it?" Caleb Sterling leaned back in his chair, thinking that since he had already called, he might as well deal with what Sierra Summers had sent over.
