In just a few breaths, Sierra Summers wondered if there was something wrong with her ears. What on earth was Chloe Sterling saying?!
She was taken aback.
Sierra didn't know what expression to wear. Instinctively, she clenched the scarf on her lap, sitting up straighter. She licked her lips and took a sip of hot milk tea before finding her voice. She really didn't know what to say because there was too much information in Chloe's words.
Not only was it a lot, but what this paragraph implied was probably a series of not-so-great experiences.
Perhaps even saying that is too conservative.
Sierra took a deep breath and exhaled, "Chloe, would you like to tell me? I remember we talked about this topic a long time ago, and we didn't continue back then."
In fact, she wasn't concerned about why Chloe was her fan, but using a word like "benefactor" made Sierra feel obliged to pay attention as Chloe's soon-to-be sister-in-law.
