She has always presented herself as Shane Chapman's wife in front of others, even though everyone knows she's a mistress, not acknowledged by Shane Chapman. However, over the years, the latter has not shown excessive disdain towards Mrs. Langley.
Most people leave room for maneuver when dealing with matters, and unless absolutely necessary, they wouldn't openly break ties with Mrs. Langley. This has led her to believe firmly that her status is secure and that she has been acknowledged.
She's no longer that poor person and doesn't need to be looked down upon.
Thus, Mrs. Langley became increasingly arrogant and dismissive of others.
The number of companies she looked down upon over these years is countless.
One can imagine how this will could lead to their crazy retaliation against Mrs. Langley.
Yet, that's not what terrifies Mrs. Langley the most.
