"Little one, please don't let your big treasure of a dad suffer too much." Lucas Rhodes approached Jasmine Jennings' belly, his voice tender, speaking each word with gentle guidance, as if speaking slowly would help the child understand.
Jasmine Jennings' gaze fell on her own belly, softening as well. She caressed her stomach, looking at this man who indulged her in every way, and quietly curled her lips, the corners of her eyes lifting upward.
Lucas Rhodes pressed his face against Jasmine Jennings' belly, holding his two treasures, and smiled contentedly.
Jasmine Jennings also felt the light, almost weightless, presence of Lucas Rhodes' head on her belly. She slowly revealed a satisfied smile and reached out to stroke Lucas Rhodes' head.
She said softly, "If we could always be like this, it would be nice. Having a child in the future and trying to learn how to be parents, without thinking about the past things, that's the life I dream of."
