The small, stolen wooden boat glided eerily silently over the pitch-black, glass-like surface of the swamp water. The only sound was the gentle slosh, slosh of Vex lazily dipping the carved wooden board into the murky depths, propelling them further away from the safety of the hidden cave and deeper into the terrifying, uncharted heart of the Snake King's aquatic territory.
Thick, humid fog rolled over the water, clinging to the glowing, bioluminescent lily pads like glowing spiderwebs. In the dark distance, pairs of glowing yellow and red eyes occasionally breached the surface, blinking slowly before silently sinking back into the abyss.
