Kanna Kamui, a member of the Dragon Race from another world. In her human form, she appears as a primary school student around nine years old, while her dragon form is a massive dragon covered in white fur. She belongs to a tribe capable of using electrical attacks and can restore her strength by recharging.
Her actual age exceeds 14,000 years, making her older than some Dragon Kings, yet she is still essentially a young dragon. She possesses an independent, prank-loving personality but is secretly prone to loneliness. She also has a voracious appetite. In the original storyline of her world, she was exiled for her pranks, ultimately ending up in the human world.
Leon never expected that such a dragon would appear here, in the rift between dimensions, inhabiting this nameless land and seemingly guarding a castle.
"Why are you here?" Leon asked instinctively.
"Muu!"
Kanna did not answer. Instead, she glared at him as if throwing a tantrum, trying her best to look fierce. But as before, she looked more cute than scary—it was less a threat and more like she was acting adorable.
Seeing the young dragon so uncooperative, Leon sighed. If the opponent were an adult, Leon could use lines like "You are already my servant" to coerce them into submission. But even though she had existed for 14,000 years, she was fundamentally a child—one who had been exiled specifically for her mischief. Reasoning was useless; if she were prone to logic, she wouldn't have tried to vaporize him with dragon breath the moment they met.
Noticing her still glaring at him, Leon knew she was sulking because he had just "killed" her once. After a moment of thought, Leon deployed a magic circle and retrieved an item from the space where he kept his Evil Pieces. That space was usually used for daily necessities like his phone, clothes, and occasionally, snacks and desserts.
Leon pulled out a giant lollipop.
Kanna's gaze immediately snapped to the massive lollipop in Leon's hand. Her expression shifted instantly. Her small nose twitched slightly as if catching a scent, and once she smelled the sweetness of the candy, she couldn't look away.
Seeing this, the corner of Leon's mouth curled upward.
"Do you want it?"
His gentle voice was filled with temptation, like a villain about to deceive an innocent child.
Kanna desperately wanted to nod, but remembering she had just been killed by this "bad person," she swallowed hard and forced herself to look away.
"I... I don't want it!"
Her voice and attitude were the very definition of insincere.
Leon replied quite bluntly, "Then I'll just throw it away."
As he spoke, Leon tossed the lollipop aside, letting it fly into the distance. In that instant, Kanna moved.
"Awoo!"
With lightning speed, she snapped her head forward and caught the flying lollipop in one bite, swallowing it whole along with the wrapper. She didn't even bite or chew; she simply gulped it down like water.
The air suddenly went still.
The two humanoid figures, one large and one small, stared at each other in silence. One had a faint smirk, while the other appeared calm on the surface despite her ears turning bright red.
"Is the anger gone?" Leon stopped teasing her and asked, "Now, can you tell me why you're here?"
"I'm not telling you," Kanna said stubbornly, even though she had just been bribed. "You killed me. You're a bad person."
"Then you must be a bad dragon," Leon said matter-of-factly. "After all, you attacked first."
"You were trying to steal my treasure," Kanna argued righteously. "Humans who try to steal a dragon's treasure deserve to die. That's what my father told me."
"First, I'm not human. Second, I never thought about stealing any treasure—at least not before I understood the situation here." Leon spoke calmly, then gestured toward the castle. "By the way, so there really is treasure in there?"
"What are you trying to do?" Kanna became instantly wary. "You really are trying to steal my treasure!"
"You're my dragon now, so isn't your treasure my treasure?" Leon waved his hand. "Just tell me, what's inside?"
Without waiting for her to refuse, Leon pulled out a second giant lollipop.
"Awoo!"
Kanna's neck extended like a flash of lightning, and she swallowed the lollipop in one go. Her eating manner was so boisterous it made one doubt she could even taste the candy.
"What's inside?" Leon asked again. "If you tell me, I can give you more."
This time, Kanna was clearly tempted. Leon immediately produced a third lollipop and watched her devour it like an ox swallowing a peony. Finally, he heard her reluctant answer.
"I haven't been inside, and I can't get in at all," Kanna said gloomily. "There is a barrier around the castle. Every time I try to fly in, I get bounced back. Even attacking it doesn't work, so I just stay outside."
Leon was speechless. "You've never been inside, yet you dare claim the treasure belongs to you?"
That was blatant nonsense.
"There is definitely treasure inside," Kanna said with absolute certainty. "Even though I can't go in, just staying near the castle feels very comfortable."
If not for that, the lonely Kanna would have never endured such a solitary life here.
"Fine." Leon was still a bit exasperated, but Kanna didn't seem to be lying. He nodded and said, "In that case, I'll go in and see for myself."
Kanna panicked. "You can't steal my treasure!" she cried, hurriedly staking her claim.
Leon rolled his eyes, ignoring the willful young dragon. He unfurled his ten pitch-black devil wings and flew toward the castle. Kanna immediately transformed into her dragon form and followed him.
Given their speed, they reached the castle in no time and began their descent. Leon didn't even bother with the main gate; he dropped directly from the sky toward the castle's front courtyard.
However, as they descended, Kanna was blocked by a barrier that suddenly shimmered into existence. She couldn't enter at all, leaving the massive white dragon circling frantically in mid-air.
"This barrier... was it designed specifically to block the Dragon Race?" Leon mused, noticing the barrier had only stopped Kanna while letting him pass through.
"I want to go in too!" Kanna was desperate now and turned to Leon for help. "Help me!"
Leon didn't refuse, but he set a condition. "I can help, but you have to listen to me."
Kanna fell silent. Clearly, she was still very reluctant.
Leon already knew how to handle this stubborn young dragon. He turned toward the interior of the castle, acting as if he were going to leave her there.
"Wait!"
Predictably, the childlike Kanna didn't understand the concept of hard-to-get. She panicked instantly. "I... I'll listen to you!"
The moment she said it, she looked like a defeated rooster, her energy completely deflating.
"Was that so hard?" Leon smiled successfully. Then, he raised his hand and fired a bolt of lightning toward a dilapidated fountain in the courtyard.
The lightning struck a crystal ball positioned at the very top center of the fountain. Upon entering, Leon had immediately realized that the crystal ball was the center of the barrier; the ward existed solely because of it. In other words, destroying it would cause the barrier to collapse.
With a bang, the lightning shattered the crystal ball into countless fragments. The barrier enveloping the castle vanished like a mirage, making Kanna's eyes light up. Without hesitation, she sped inside, even attempting to fly past Leon into the castle's interior on her own.
"You crafty little dragon!" Leon was provoked into a laugh.
In his annoyance, he directly activated the Balance Breaker of "Zenith Tempest," his aura surging. Without unfurling his wings, he reached out toward Kanna and activated the Balance Breaker's ability.
A soap bubble suddenly appeared around Kanna, wrapping her inside.
"Eh?"
Kanna tried to break through the bubble, only to be pushed back. "What... what is this?"
Confused, she instinctively spat a bolt of electrical breath against the bubble. However, her breath—capable of leveling mountain ranges—merely shattered upon contact as if hitting an indestructible wall of the world.
Kanna was stunned. Leon expressionlessly clenched his outstretched palm, causing the bubble to shrink. Kanna's massive dragon body was immediately squeezed by the bubble, causing her to cry out in pain and curl up. As the bubble grew smaller, Kanna was forced to cancel her dragon form, shrinking until she returned to her young girl appearance.
Only then did the bubble stop shrinking. Kanna raised her small hands and began pounding on the bubble's membrane.
"Let me out!"
Leon met her fierce protest with cold indifference. "So this is how you 'listen,' is it?"
Faced with Leon's accusation, Kanna didn't feel guilty at all. "You never said I couldn't go in before you." Her defensive look contrasted sharply with her dazed, cute appearance.
"Fine, then you can follow me in just like that."
Leon didn't look at her again and walked straight into the castle. The bubble imprisoning Kanna floated automatically, following behind Leon as they entered the fortress.
"Let me out!" Kanna's protests continued to echo as their figures were swallowed by the darkness of the castle.
Taptap... taptap...
In the silent, empty castle, the sound of Leon's footsteps echoed clearly.
"This place is too big, isn't it?"
Looking at the vast corridor that seemed to have no end, Leon couldn't help but marvel. The corridor was truly immense; the walls were at least ten meters apart, and the ceiling was twenty or thirty meters high. It felt less like a place for humans and more like a path for giants.
"No, or perhaps... this was meant for dragons?"
The thought occurred to Leon, and he felt it was likely the truth. Such a wide and massive corridor was overkill for humans, but perfectly suited for dragons.
"A Dragon Castle?"
Interested, Leon stopped walking slowly. He unfurled the twelve devil wings he now possessed due to his Balance Breaker and took flight, speeding forward. Kanna, inside her bubble, followed him under his control.
Seeing that Leon was ignoring her and refusing to let her out, Kanna hung her head in dejection, looking like she was about to cry. Fortunately, Leon didn't ignore her forever. Along the way, he asked her how she had ended up there. This time, Kanna didn't hide the truth.
"I was driven out," the little girl said gloomily.
Just as Leon knew, Kanna was originally a dragon from another world who had been exiled due to excessive pranking, never to return. However, unlike the original story, she hadn't been exiled to the human world. Instead, she had been cast into this rift between dimensions—a common practice for various races when dealing with dangerous objects.
The exiled Kanna had originally flown aimlessly through the rift, much like Leon had, barely surviving until she stumbled upon this land. Upon arriving, she discovered the castle and found that staying near it made her feel comfortable; even without recharging, the electricity and power in her body would grow continuously.
Consequently, after failing to enter the castle, Kanna stayed at the entrance, treating the area as her territory and the castle as her treasure. Since there were no other living beings there, Kanna spent most of her time sleeping. Thus, even she didn't know exactly how long she had been there.
She only knew that when she first arrived, she didn't have her current power. Now, she had unknowingly reached the level of a Dragon King, becoming far stronger than before.
From that statement alone, Leon understood that this dazed, cute dragon had been here for at least several hundred years. Otherwise, she would have never grown to the level of a Dragon King.
