Serena Stanton lied with a straight face, "I just suddenly felt like having instant noodles today."
Adrian Shaw chuckled, "When don't you want to eat instant noodles?"
"Tomorrow," Serena replied.
Adrian let out a soft laugh and bent down to continue tending to her wound.
The iodine swabbed over her skin, bringing a cool itch, then suddenly a strange burning sensation rose up.
It didn't hurt, just a peculiar tingling, causing Serena's breathing to alter, uncontrollably quickening.
Worried that he'd notice, she hurriedly shifted her gaze, trying to distract herself.
Serena stared at the cup of instant noodles on the countertop, thinking that after soaking for so long, the noodles must be mushy.
Once finished, Adrian looked up at her, seeing her staring blankly at something else, lost in thought.
He didn't release his hold on her leg, his thumb gently stroking her smooth skin until the area turned red from the friction.
Serena still didn't turn to look at him.
