The car stopped at The Groman Apartments. Serena unbuckled her seatbelt, ready to get out, but no matter how hard she pulled the door handle, it wouldn't budge.
She had no choice but to turn to the man and remind him, "The door's locked."
Adrian leaned back in his seat, let out a lazy "Mm," and curled his lips into a careless smile. "I did it on purpose."
A wave of speechlessness crashed around in Serena's head; she had to admit she was a little impressed by how justifiable he acted.
Adrian's dark eyes drifted over lazily. "Have you made up your mind yet?"
"Made up my mind about what?" Serena asked.
Adrian was completely at ease, as if they were discussing some serious business. "Break up with him, or have an affair with me."
Even if he wasn't using explicit words now, it wasn't much of an improvement.
"No need to consider. I refuse both options." Serena was resolute and met his gaze head-on as she spoke.
"Can you unlock the door? I want to get out," she requested.
